I have the same problem with freezer bags! :) I look forward to following the seedlings over the next 12 months. I am interested to know how to get the compost to the right amount of moisture. Thanks for the videos.

+Joan Hitchner 1 Use only clean compost. 2) use a tray and broadcast the seeds so that they don't stay in one place. 3) When you bag up the whole tray, there must be tiny droplets of condensation on the top of the bag. NOT too much, but must be droplets of condensation. 4) steady bottom heat 5)If seeds are viable, they WILL grow. 5) Do not remove bag even after germination. Keep the tray in the propagator with good light. I know as I dropped mine several times and with the bags on, the tiny leaves are getting bigger.

How many weeks did it take for the baby plats to show up after sowing the seeds?

I am currently growing some Streptocarpus from seed. I have found It varies with growing temperature, age of seeds and if they are variegated. It can take anywhere between 10 and 90 days before sprouting. If you do not see signs of sprouting. Do not give up for a few months. Keep them lightly moist and give it a few months. I planted three different sets of seeds on 3-21-24 and one set sprouted after ten days. A variegated set finally showed signs of growth today and the last set has not shown any signs of green yet.

@@larrystacey7138 Thank you very much for your response. I planted a set of seeds on 3-21-24 too, I think they are variegated type of seeds.
