  • In this video I talk about the importance of "playing" in training. To put away the power and kime-techniques and to focus on fluent, logical moves where the end of one process is also the beginning of the next. But most of all it's about creativity. "Playing" and within it the Life-Feedback of error and success in combinations is the basis for fast an proper decisions in partner-work and self-defense.
    One thing I like to underline is Iain's point of joint-locks. They happen always incidentally or accidentally. 😁
    Think about that (!)
    Our core-expertise as karateka is blocking, striking and kicking. Then, if a suitable situation accrues, one can do locks, throws and so on.
