Lowdown lived on 69th & San Pedro and on 43rd Street during the early 1970s and would see Raymond Washington (1953-1979) and Craig Craddock (1954-1972) and other Crips walk down San Pedro. When he was kid, Raymond Washington called LowDown, "Lil Country" because of his accent.
Low Down started hanging with the original Four Trays in the early 1970s at Wrigley Field, before they changed the name to Gilbert Lindsay Park. The Four Tray Gangster Crips were original known as 43 Avalon Baby Crips (ABC).

Crippin' changed the world. Eastside was the last chapter of a unified Crips, until Westside dudes with no revolutionary ideals were integrated. That lack of ideals turned Crips into a gang, causing it to lose it's essence of being a revolutionary movement. Eastside is gone, Raymond left a community based revolutionary structure/philosophy. Read Raymond Washington's last letter, found in his stuff when he died. He stated people misinterpreted Crips, and they didn't know what Crips was and shouldn't be hear-saying or representing Crips.
They took over hoods by force.
Where can I find this letter?
Crips was nothing more than a bunch of teenagers harassing their communities and fighting opposition. They didn’t start as a revolutionary thing and didn’t operate as one. That’s all just false rumor and narrative. Talk to original members. My family was apart of that original structure. They were far from the first black gangs in LA and obviously far from the last. They were just more of the same for troubled youth. It’s that simple. People need to stop trying to uplift their identity and make it seem like it was started with positive Intentions because it wasn’t. It was a street gang. Period.
Everybody be talking bout gangs in Houston and everywhere else but a majority have family ties down south
