Godspeed youngster on your new life journey! I didn't know you were doing choir practice; I wish I could afford a daily adjustment! What I know about nutrition, after nearly 60 years of sports, is this: Carbs beforehand, and protein afterwards. In between, be careful what you eat. Junk in equals junk out. Looking forward to your next series of videos, and my best wishes for your continued success, happiness, and health always!
Think I prefer an occasional newsy vlog to a regular repetitive one! So many you tubers burnt out and clearly exhausted with making content. Popping in when you feel like it feels good and authentic. 👍 Some rides in Yorkshire, good craic and dietary advice will be great!
That's very kind of you to say Tamsin, thank you. Yeah I could just do regular vlogs going over the same old pointless nonsense but I'd get bored of watching it! Excited to have more new things to talk about 😊
I was lucky enough to be helped by a hospital here in France, i was put in hospital for 3 weeks, i had a doctor 2 dieticians a physiotherapists and a sports scientist . The first dietician was terrible more interested in her new clothes than helping people. She seemed to understand that i was unhappy with her work and i was transferred to the other one. After the course finished i had to go back every 3 months for a year to speak to each of the specialists. I lost 25 kilo during that year . That was 2019 to 2020 October to October. And i have kept up the regime i was given cycling and the diet. And have kept of the weight. I have never been so healthy. So yes i love your cycling videos but i would be interested in hearing about your work. We could all benefit from learning more.
This is amazing David, well done you achieving so much. Especially after starting with some poor support, sounds like you’re doing great and I love to hear this 😊🙏🏼
apologies I was replying to comments on my phone and it blocks text whilst you're typing and I clearly read it wrong. Sorry Richard, I have corrected it 🙏🏼@@richardhall263
All the very best. I'm nearly 60 and want to do more post grad stuff, so keep on going you. Maybe a suitable research topic could be "The effects of pasties as cycling recovery nutrition". Take Care! :)
Great to hear the update. Wishing you all the luck in the world...... brave move to change direction when established in a career already. Best of luck! Hope you settle in fast and have lots of great rides with your friends in Leeds. Keep the videos coming - on rides, nutrition and diet - and you! It's all interesting 🙂
Thank you Terry 😊 Cyclocross is really hard work isn’t it, no let up from descents or drafting! My dismount remount skills are poor which makes it hard too but … gotta be worth a go right!!
Good luck with your move and welcome to Yorkshire! I moved up to Halifax 3 years ago from Watford and I love it! Leeds is a great city and if you ever fancy riding over in Halifax just give me a shout! 🙌🥳
Best wishes for the move oop north! There are some great trail and fell races not far away if you fancy continuing your dalliance with running. If you want something proper bonkers then have a look at the High Peak Marathon...but maybe work your way up to it. 😁
Good luck with the move. How about doing a series on nutrition for recreational riding? Perhaps people who ride 2 to 3 hours at a moderate pace. Much is made about the crazy demands of racing and needing to use fancy drinks and such. But for many normal riders, we just need to avoid running g out of gas on a ride. And post ride to not get hungry and overeat a couple of hours later. Maybe with an emphasis on normal food at the grocers that work and not so much pricey packaged things.
Ah this explains your post about not seeing the Cornish coast for a while. Good luck with going back to school and the move to Leeds, think you'll be better placed for some of the gravel events. Totally agree I don't like sticking my bike on a bike rack. Video wise I like a chat learning about nutrition would interesting as I'm guilty of eating a lot of rubbish food.
Good luck finding a good pasty shop up there in Leeds! I see Ginsters mentioned below, well they're only for emergencies they are, when you can't find a decent pasty shop. Not the same at all. I used to live in Harrogate, a proper pasty free zone. Went hungry at lunchtimes I did 🤣 Good luck with the studies and enjoy the new cycling opportunities!
🤣🤣🤣 how dare you come here using that kind of language, g!*sters indeed 😆 I’m liking the Wetherby services Cornwall Pasty Co for emergencies somebody else suggested haha 🥟 👀
Good luck with the life change & you'll have a great base for getting out on t'bike from Leeds. Not sure Greggs' meat & potato pasties quite pass muster when you are used to proper pasties.
Leeds will be a great location for you, Dales on your doorstep, North Wales a few hours away, always plenty of short distance (driving that is) events on too, we go to Wetherby Services to the Cornish Pasty Co. for a half decent pasty 😂
Haha it’s funny how there’s pasty shops everywhere now! So expensive and not that great compared to a local Cornish one but we’ll see how long I go before getting one (I actually have had one from Wetherby too!)
All the best. I have to laugh about the swearing. As somebody who lives in Leeds you'll be spoilt for choice cycling around Yorkshire all the best for picking up the Yorkshire accent 😀🚴🚴🚴
Good luck with everything you do. The NHS needs more nutritionalists, after my wife bowel cancer diagnosis in 2019 in which she had to have a stomach fitted. It was 14 months later when she had the reversal because of Covid, she still can’t eat certain foods and we don’t know if she ever will. The good people at Maggie’s tried to help her but as far as her surgical team, they were useless with help on nutrition.
Please share your passion, as a Chef id love to learn how bad I'm killing my self lol , it would be a major help to see as u said what the Truth is about how we fule on a bike , please and thank you in advance
Nope, def didn't see this coming. Good luck w/ the big life change! I'd love to hear you discuss nutrition; pls start w/ 1) electrolytes & 2) AGEs - advanced glycation end products.

All the best. As for nutrition - my conclusion is that sugar is addictive! Seed Oils are not our friend. Processed foods should be avoided and that the ‘low fat, high carb.’ experiment has failed miserably. After 40 years Vegetarian and some health issues, since early 2023 started Keto type eating plan..now mainly Organic Beef-Red Meat…Eggs…Butter,Cheese. Have lost 10kg. Great deal stronger on the bike. Health much improved and sleeping better
