Your humor always cracks me up (although I'm sure this was funny/not funny at the time--hard to have those things together). Thanks, for the great insights, John!
This is so awesome! I ended up removing the drop shadow on the Bathymetry layer because it was very abrupt when I added it. Yours seemed perfectly soft. I had the same setting but not sure what happened. I think without the drop shadow the water pops a little more. Thanks for the awesome videos I have learned so much.
Hi John! Thanks for the video. When I export the map to a PDF, the outputted map loses all of the effects and colour blends. Is there any way around this?
I know some of this can be accomplished in ArcGIS Pro - I think it's just the effects that are missing? Or have I missed something? Another inspiring video - thanks, John!

Thanks Connor!

thanks for watching!
Really great, never thought of doing this. I think I would prefer offering this basemap to users over the regular imagery.
Or maybe something in between?
Using dashed lines for country borders and solid lines for state borders is an interesting symbology choice.
Yes, good catch! I realized my mistake and later changed the reference overlay to human geography dark dry, which fixed that

Hi jon, I wish you made video about 3D in arcgis pro?
i've made some of those.
Is it possible on Arcgis Pro?
No, unfortunately, because it uses effects

@@henryshaver9614 I’m hearing this from some folks and have asked the product folks about it. Will let you know, sorry for the inconvenience
How to load that basemap on arcgis pro?
@@brayantz_700 unfortunately Pro does not support these layer effects. I wish it did and someday it will but not currently.

thanks Craig! right, the effects are missing in Pro so changing the contrast on the tiles can't be done readily. but maybe in a future release.
@@JohnNelsonMaps Great video! Hmmm... three months ago now. With you on hoping effects will be added to Pro!
@@JackCat_thecat they are! Not sure of the release date though
Souperduper
Thanks Owen!
Hope your dental impairment is better!
