I remembered when Elvis received this belt for selling out his shows at the International Hotel when he first performed there. I was not aware that Elvis had performed 60 shows in the first month. Hey Barb,,just an update,,I dug a little and on Graceland.com they say Elvis did 57 shows during that month long long engagement and all were sold out.
Elvis also wore his gold belt when he went to the White House and got the narcotics badge from President Richard Nixon. Sonny West said that President Nixon said you dress kinda strange to which Elvis replied "well Mr. President you've got your show to run and I've got mine".
