SPOILER - - - - - i rhink everyone who is upset at the direction taken with chloe are the people who fundamentally misunderstood the burden of the save chloe ending. it was inevitable that they wouldn't be together forever due to the burden of max having a town full of bodies weight on her conscience which was at a fundamental conflict to chloe's new lease on life. also, just because they said they'd be together forever doesn't mean they would be -- that was a promise made by an emotional teenager as they watched everyone they knew be killed. as they're driving out of town, max looks sad and burdened so of course it would follow her. also? neither chloe or max have been historically good at solving interpersonal conflict and the situation that would make max grow and develop aka saving the town doesn't exist if chloe and max are together. they don't mature and they don't learn the central lesson which is that You Have To Let Go. i think 10 years without canon updates about max and chloe has made a lot of create their own reality or develop the sentiments of the non canon comics. wishing something to be true does Not make it so which is INCREDIBLY true of any and all "vows" you made as a teenager because, like it or not, people change as they age!
People change as they age is a horrible excuse for them just being lazy and having it all happen off screen it'd make sense if they broke up a year after the storm but them staying together for how long afterwards makes it much less believable

As long as they are still friends (hopefully besties) that’s all that matters to me. Max literally sacrificed Joyce for Chloe… that can take time to kick in.
They still got 3 episodes to make it right. I hope that was what they meant for contronting traumas. But also completely zeroing pricefield would be really out of character for Deck 9, I always thought they were fans like us, that's why they keep making these games. Is it manipulative to realest these episodes early? I will say yes. However, I will also say that this is something targeted towards die hard fans and it gives the early access players a couple of weeks to wonder and speculate what this all means after the cliffhanger ending of Episode 2. I will also say the direction they took Chloe if you chose the Bae Ending, may come off as either a betrayal to some players or even soul crushing but I actually call it realistic. I mean, do you really believe that Max would be able to get over all the trauma she went through in the first game? I’m looking forward to the upcoming episodes.

saw someone predict chloe will return for christmas based on the trailers, after watching a playthrough of episodes 1 and 2 i could see how chloe could return as early as episode 3. or they could play around with the multiple timelines thing and chloe could be in the other timeline, i assume she won't be that big in the plot if so because it would be a lot of extra work to make different versions of the same scenes.

Just a fun little theory SPOILERS AHEAD BUT ITS A GOOD ONE! . . . . . . . . . . . . . So If they wanted to use the other timeline for Chloe they certainly could, if you choose Bae ending in the other timeline maybe they aren't broken up (Text messages are still the same though in living timeline so that may poke an immediate hole in this) and if you chose the latter well you again could just say she is alive and well in the other timeline. Its a way to have Chloe in the game no matter what the player chose at the start. There are a lot of ways they could've went about this. making me decide between break up and dead and then forcing me to go flirt with Amanda 15 seconds later was NOT THE RIGHT CALL! Theory on the ending of Ep2 is that potentially when Max touched Safi in the dead timeline she actually switched Safi's! like how she did the telescope earlier in Ep2 during the sneaky section getting the camera! So the timelines are actually backwards. Where Safi is supposed to be dead in the living timeline and alive in the dead timeline. in Ep 1 during the murder scene you hear Max say "shit" but its from a distance its not from the max we are playing as. then you hear Max again but this time its our max talking and you can tell cause the dialog sound sounds like its right there and she says "Safi Hang on". Max might've really fucked up, all those alternate reality max's she created back in OG game from rewinding and literally creating these alternate timelines herself. even if you sacrificed Chloe in OG the rewinding that was done during the game cannot be undone the other realities/timelines she created kept going. I'd guess there are some pissed off Max's out there that maybe upset OG Max got to go on and either live a life with Chloe and fucked it up or those Max's are pissed they lost there Chloe? idk this is where it gets confusing obviously. anyways this is already to long! just an excited fan happy to see my good friend Max again! What a wild ride its been so far. Can't wait for episodes 3-5
It just felt a lot like running to random locations without much of a story thread going through it and finding a killer as a basic setup is not as interesting as finding what happened to a lost person.
No spoilers, but can I play Max as a straight character, nothing against Chloe etc but in the first game I always made the friendly options and always seen them as friends. Is there similar option in this or we are down with the female love interest? I like to always do both paths, in True Colors it was done pretty well.
Yea you can stay platonic as far as i can tell. the game tries to push you the girl-on-girl route a little harder than the male option but in what i seen its avoidable

They have disrespect that choice by miss characterizing both Max n Chloe, making up a story that disrespects Don’tNod (horrible), and I hear it has the worst dialogue compared to if you save Arcadia Bay ending. The game also feels like it’s forcing you to fall in love with the 2 love interest that’s in the game which gave me weird vibes. I just finished chapter 1 and 2, and omg the way they handle Chloe is disgusting. I know she wasn’t the greatest person in LiS1, but you can feel that she was targeted for the wrong reasons! Like it feels like they never made Chloe grow up, even after 10 years later. The plot rn is really good, but many player are saying that it could have the most disappointing endings out of the whole series. You can tell what they are talking about if you have played chapter 1 and 2.
Absolutely incredible mystery so far, I do really hate how Square Enix have dropped this game with people who didn't pay the extra money getting spoiled almost certainly. I hope SE's business practices don't take away from how good the actual game is though, loving the split timelines and the campus is gorgeous, all the characters are so good! Pricefield fans are being ridiculous not waiting for the full story to drop before judging but Square Enix have brought that upon themselves with the marketing to be honest

Double exposure has got to be the laziest, most unoriginal, and un creative game I’ve ever seen. It is literally the bathroom scene in the first game, but drawn out as a full episode. 2. Soundtrack is fucked. They think the life is strange games are feminine or something because they’ve only got songs from two female composers. Sure, the songs they make are good, but there’s zero variety. DONTNOD didn’t give two fucks who they were getting songs from. They just chose whatever song was best. Does this game even have a main theme? Idk that’s how forgettable this shit is. I honestly don’t know if it has one. 3. Why are there no credits? Why is there no final take it in moment type of ending scene? Episode one and two just end… No credits. Nothin like that. Boring. 4. All of the characters are straight out of a CW show. None of them are relatable or realistic. The writing just isn’t very good. Max’s character isn’t developing at all. It’s like they don’t want to change her strong and independent character design for the sake of diversity or something. 5. Absolutely no shock factor at all. The most shocking thing we see is in a photo. 6. Choices somehow matter even less in this game than it did in the first. And it doesn’t even compare to the choices in LIS 2. DONTNOD actually tried to improve that in their second game whereas deck nine didn’t. I’m not too surprised that this game is mediocre like true colors, but I’m extremely surprised by how lazy and unoriginal the first chapter is.
