Yes the blood is a sign of the cross…covenant…there’s also two possibilities I and others see. As shown in your photo of the painted door. If you have the basin at the left of the door on the group, you have blood in the shape of ת - Tav, which is the last letter in the Hebrew aleph-bet. That letter stands for sign or covenant. But I think I lean even more to the letter Het - ח which stands for wall, fence, or separation. There is also a word חי in Hebrew, ח is the first letter in this word that means live, or חיים which means life. Those that wanted the death angel to PASS OVER them so they could live, were painting the first letter of LIFE on their doorpost in the BLOOD.
Interesting study. I see what you're saying about the cross. I'm seeing an additional possibility. The Lord makes a point to Moses that the people are to paint the lentle first...and then the two door posts. I'm thinking Jesus=lentle and the two witnesses=the two door posts. What would be the paradigm shift...if this is correct. I have reason to believe this to be the case. Thanks again for the Bible study Paul. God bless you and yours!

Never thought of this until recently but was the blood applied outside the door or inside the door? Thanks
Outside I believe.
