@Liam Roberts Vader was after Jocasta Nu, when Madame Nu used a rifle that is powered by a kyber crystal she shot the wall of the temple to escape when Vader chased her he was encountered by an Imperial Drop ship where the shock clones seeing Vader proceed to shoot him mistakingly him as a Jedi when Vader jumps to the drop ship he blamed Fox. Fox tried to reason and was shaken but Vader snapped his neck killing him. The other clones aboard the drop ship was killed too when Vader managed to capture Jocasta and she revealed to the clones that they are taking orders from a Jedi "Vader" obviously. The clones looked at each other when Vader noticed this he can't afford the fact that there must be witnesses so he pushed them out of the ship killing them and he ignited his saber at Jocasta Nu's heart killing her along with the knowledge of force-sensitive kids so that Vader will not be replaced.

He had such of knowlegde of the smartness. He could even save the Jedis from ... order 66. He became so smart. The only thing he feared was not others beliveing him which eventualy happened. Unfornutely he tried to save the Jedis then commender Fox killed him. Ironic. He could save others but not himself...

Fox was sympathetic to Ahsoka and even commended her prior to literally finding her standing over the bodies of his brothers. Fox gave Fives a chance to stand down even though he had hostages, and he only fired when Fives tried to shoot first.
This poor dude gets so much hate when he was just doing his job... It's not his fault Palp fed him misinformation. He did the best possible with the information he had.

Richard Lew It's not crazy to assume the same organization that made the armour could also make a blaster pistol capable of piercing it. After all, they were only concerned with the armour withstanding enemy blaster fire, not their own. Although to be fair, we never really see any armour prevent blaster penetration in Star Wars. Really we tend to see it's wearers survive indirect dangers like explosions and collateral damage. But in real life, no armour is meant to take direct fire in most cases. It acts as a last resort. Really, in both Star Wars and reality, soldiers are meant to avoid being shot, period.

the armour is not designed to take close range direct shots. its designed to take long distance or glancing hits as well as protect from shrapnel. its based on modern ideas where armour is of limited value against the firepower being fielded. honestly i think its an additional layer over the much more important environmental suit then designed as heavy armour. Stormtrooper armour is the same, but the clones have a much better quality to theirs.

Star wars rebels also made it a point to show that clone armour was overall better.
Plus it took two stun bolts knock old man rex unconscious later on in that same episode.

@@alexedwards845 I'm not sure about that, Fives would be taken into custody because the jedi would think he's insane, the 501st plus anakin would be told fives would be taken to a medical center where he could live the rest of his life in "peace". then palpatine will electrocute fives to death or maybe even worse, so I think fives dying by fox shooting him is bettr than getting electrocuted or something worse.

When Rex saw Fives take that blaster his face said enough, he knew anyone in Fox’ shoes had to shoot him, he sealed his fate by taking the blaster. And if Rex knew that it says enough.
I never understand why ppl realistically get mad about his death, like just thinking about how this situation would play out with IRL police officers I feel like lethal force would be completely justified there. I love Fives but like the whole point of the arc was his mental stability unraveling over nobody believing him, and by the end he wasn’t in a great state of mind. NEYMAR FAN10 I think I agree yeah. Fives would have shot at them and they aren’t gonna let him endanger the other clones as he’s clearly a threat already. Plus again, since Fox warns him multiple times to not go for the weapon, it’s hard to believe Palpatine had instructed him to kill Fives. Sure you could argue that they knew Fives was acting like a cornered animal and that if confronted aggressively he’d lash out, but unless that’s explicitly stated I think we have to take it at face value. That being that they tried to surprise him to give themselves a “tactical” advantage by catching the armed fugitive off guard as so they could apprehend him easier.

I loved Fives, but Fox just follower orders. He could've shot Fives many times before, but until he grabbed a gun, he didn't shoot. He told him not to go for it, and he only had it lethal because, like the video said, he knew Fives wouldn't be taken in alive. Put him out of his misery atleast instead of knowing he struggled in his final hours. I respect Fox for that, he probably knew Fives would be interrogated and diseccted/executed. He may have actually disobeyed orders to stun him.
The Stun setting is wildly inconsistent in its effectiveness against people in plastoid armor.

Aries Storm Good soldiers do not blindly follow orders. Good soldiers use only the forced needed to take in one of their own. So if you have a stun option you use it. Especially when you have a squad with a lethal back up right there.
Foxs was a scumbag that killed a brother that he could have taken alive. Orders or no orders there is a thing called ethics that any warrior and solider is bound to. The other clones should have arranged a training " accident " for him

Fox. Trained to be loyal to the Chancellor and only the Chancellor. Fives seemingly tries to kill the Chancellor, and Fox is told to hunt him down and probably use lethal force. Upon finding him, Fives has Rex and Anakin trapped, and is raving like a mad man. Even then, Fox disobeys orders and tries to get Fives to surrender, only shooting him when he drew a weapon on him and his men.
As the fans, we know and love Fives, and we also know about the inhibitor chips and Palpatine's scheming. But if you think about it, from the perspective of someone in the story, Fives is a clone who went crazy and tried to kill the Chancellor. And yet, even in this scenario, where it seems like Fives is obviously in the wrong, Fox still disobeys orders and tries to get him to surrender and come in alive, before coming to the conclusion that he's too far gone. Remind me why everyone hates him again? It's a miracle that he even gave Fives that much of a chance.

If you actually rewatch the scene Fox shouts “Don’t do it soldier” at Fives, also you look the the way he looks at Fives he realized what he just did even if his helmet was still on.

You know, I hate commander Fox just as much as the next guy, but if he were sent to some sort of court martial for the death of Fives, and i were a lawyer in the star wars world, i would defend him. I compare it to real life, when a suspect raises a deadly weapon at police, they give up there own life, and while I dont believe that Fives would've ever fired his blaster, still, he gave Fox no choice but to use deadly force, in the real world you dont taser someone trying to shoot you, and in the star wars world you dont stun someone trying to blast you. When you raise a deadly weapon, your life is now forfeit.

@@thehdtv7552 Stun doesn't always work. While it usually works, Fives is an ARC Trooper. If it's me and my Squad right behind me, I choose my squad. Fives had no indication that he wasn't going to kill Fox or his Squad.
Only times Clones use stun settings are when 1) the target is unarmed, or 2) they are ordered to. Fox gave Fives every chance. But Fives was so drugged, that he probably would have taken out Fox and his entire team.
Easy decision. Put him down before he puts us down.

Fives was a decorated soldier and an ARC trooper. We saw what he did with the guards on Kamino, he was just one very tough warrior, which was considered by the Coruscant guard.
It was an incredibly tense situation. Fox warned Fives not to reach for his blasters. Fives could have *shot* and *killed* Commander Fox. Either one of them could have forgotten in just that desperate split-sec that they have a "stun mode" for their blaster pistols - especially Fives, in his delirious state.

Let's take a look at how the stun works.
In A New Hope, when the Stormtroopers stun Leia on the Tantive IV, you can see the beam very clearly for at least a second, which is longer than what a typical laser bolt is in the air for. Therefore the stun moves slower than lethal bolts.
In the situation Fox was in, if he had used stun, Fives could still have loosed of a shot on him and either injure or kill him, so for Fox it was a matter of being the fatest draw in the West or sacrificing himself to take someone in alive. And if you ask me, I value my life pretty highly, since you'd get a lot of mileage out of it if you were still alive.
Anyway, I never got the Fox hate, I just saw him as another soldier in an MP role. I hope this sparks more discussion.

Simply put capturing Fives alive was not feasible.
Heck Fox was already going against orders by allowing fives to surrender instead of killing him on sight.
They were standing only a few feet apart. Assuming that this statement about the stun bolts were true, and not an isolated diplay shown in episode IV, it wouldn’t have mattered if they moved slower.

It only takes the tiniest fraction of a second for a bullet to be fired from a gun.
That tiny fraction of a second is the diffrence between life and death.
@@anthonyrodriguez8788 at longer distances, yes. But mere feet do no matter. The difference between shooting someone with a bow and shooting someone with a gun at 5 feet is hardly noticeable. A handful of milliseconds - not signicifant if you already have the drop on someone, knew that they were there, and saw them reaching across the room to pull out a weapon.

I don't think you quite understand how miniscule the time frame is especially when you have a gun pointed at you. One millisecond can make all the diffrence when two people have guns. That extra millisecond can stop a gun from being fired.

I feel like fives was a really good arc trooper and i just wish he went out in a more and a more respective way and not being killed ny one of his own brothers, he was a hard working and smart clone and a good friend, he definitely deserved to go out more honorable. 😔

Fox wouldn't have made that mistake. Fox is actually a very skilled fighter. Every single time there's a crisis on Coruscant, Fox always leads the charge. That's why the Senate, and his men respect him.
Clones are simply taught to use stun on unarmed targets or when their lives are not in jeopardy. An ARC Trooper pointing a lethal weapon at you is a threat. That's an easy decision. Shoot to kill.

I try so hard, so so hard! But no matter how hard I try and how many facts i hear i still cant like fox. I just cant forgive fox for killing one of our 501st boys. I know some people like fox and for some reason hate the 501st mabe because they have screen time idk. But i just hate fox and nothing can change that and idk why some people like him for unnecessary reasons of killing one of his brothers.
He had strict orders from the chancellor to kill him, if fives was kept alive he would’ve exposed the chancellor and the whole conspiracy to wipe out the jedi which palpatine couldn’t afford. If someone points a gun at you and tries shooting it at you, your obviously going to shoot back. It’s common sense, he killed fives as an act of self defense because if he didn’t shoot fives, fives would have shot and possibly kill him. Fox simply did what he had to do to live, and his reasons weren’t unnecessary. This was a life or death situation, it was either him or fives. Fox was made to be strictly loyal to Palpatine and answered to him only. Besides, even if fox captured fives alive, Palpatine would have just killed him eventually since he couldn’t risk him exposing him and the plot to destroy the Jedi. Palpatine probably told him that fives was extremely dangerous and had to be killed. I’m not saying I like Fox, I still somewhat hate him for what he did. But what he did was justified to save his own life.
Fox was just a small pawn in a master plan that he had no idea about just like every other clone. Palpatine is the one that killed fives as he is the one that ordered to have him killed, and fox was just following orders. He was just using him to further his agenda to kill the jedi.

He had his reasons for killing fives and as much as I hated to see fives go fox had his orders and probably would have died if he didn't listen because he was under palpatines control.

Honestly, I feel like Commander Fox and Crosshair are very similar. They both follow whatever orders they are given no matter what. As far as how I feel about Fox, I understand his position and that he didn't serve under someone like Anakin. However, I hate Fox because like Crosshair doesn't understand what makes a Clone trooper superior to Droids. Again, I understand his position but killing one of his own in front of his General and Captain/Brother really pisses me off to this day. In short, I understand Fox, and where he was coming from but I don't agree with his actions.

For me is canon that Plo Koon feared that Fox might hurt Ahsoka and asked Wolfee to bring her back safe and sound. That's why Wolfee didn't let her explain anything.

Fox killed me for telling the truth...and broke my fans heart.
Fox was only ever looking out for his own men. He was probably enraged at what he believed was Ahsoka for killing his men and unlike a Jedi could give into rage, yeah he should have been more professional but as peacekeepers he wouldn’t see his men die often. Also with Fives he warned him, asked him to surrender, but it was a split second decision and Fives was raving like a lunatic and pointing a gun at the Fox’s own men threatening to shoot (a thing everyone seems to overlook) so he made a split decision to keep his men alive. It’s easy to say he was wrong because we know what was really going on and we love Fives and Ahsoka. But Fox didn’t know what was happening and was doing his best to prevent more casualties. That’s my opinion.
Fox cares about his men. He's 100% dedicated to the Republic.

I remember when I watched that episode, Fox told fives to stand down, but yeah our boi Palpatine probably did order him to kill fives. Shame.
I honestly do think he was trying to arrest fives rather than kill him regardless of what Palpatine said but when fives picked up the blaster and pointed it at him he knew he had to shoot him before he could shoot him or one of his men, so he shot fives.

If Thorn had taken the mission it would have faild because Thorn was dead. Also Stun Shot is very inconsistent against people in Plastoid armor.
If Thorn took the mission, he would have done the exact same thing. Crazy ARC points a gun at you, you put him down. Easy question. Easy answer.
From the moment Fox said "shoot to kill" when Ahsoka was on the run, I hated him
Fox was a good soldier, he followed all ROEs and he did what any real soldier would do in that situation, fives was not about to stun him
Fox saw Fives as a threat, he was just doing his job. Same with Ahsoka, she escaped so he had to do his job and finder. He still could've used stun.
Well at least Anakin killed Fox.
