So, I've been using your very helpful Tearlaments guide from 8 months ago as a reference as I continue to explore this deck. I do not play competitively, I play with friends over drinks in a pretty casual environment. I'm looking to experiment with Grass, now that it's banned, and make a Tear/Horus/Lightsworn pile. I'm trying to figure out the tech options to fill out my monster list, and without Beatrice, I'm not 100% sure what makes the most sense, here. Fiendsmith is great, but not accessible for me financially, so I'm sticking with what I've got. I like what lightsworn offers, but I'm not sure what else. Fenrirs seem nice. Danger! is interesting. I've seen lists put a lot of one-ofs, but they seem to be going Grass-or-bust, and I don't think that's sustainable even as a fun strat. Trying to round out the deck, I think. Bystials? Fenrir? Tech in Visas to have an Astraloud play? Idk, I'm just spitballing, and you're the Tear player I trust, so any suggestions or similar spitballing would be welcome. Thanks for that guide, by the way. Indispensable.
I think Fenrir is great. I think dangers with fenrir can be awkward. I think with grass you can make your deck 45-50 cards instead of 60. A mill 5 or mill 10 is still incredible and you don't load your deck full of worse cards. (bonus points; grass becomes even better going 2nd) I think lightsworn is bait. Pilgrim reaper is an ok beatrice replacement if you still wanna run mali. I think shaddolls are incredible (squamata+beast, that is) because winda is great right now.
@@solemnyugioh Yeah, Lightsworn feels bait-y, but in the home-games sort of setting it does some fun shit to the dude who plays Blue Eyes and completely dies to any combo that leads to Enlightenment Dragon. That said, I’m probably gonna separate the decks again and go for something like the Kash/Tear/Horus deck example you have in that video, and take your advice about cutting things to 50. Winda and Toadally Awesome are so wonderful rn.
10:28 infernoids are only talked about bc grass is back + 3 thrust it reaps the benefit of being a fire deck so its basically SE but you play bad cards to do infernoid things. some pet deckers might steal some games with it but its bricks are way worse than yubel bricks.
Crazy how Branded is underastimate and still be rockin. Good Branded player don't really need handtrap they can go through most of Deck board (yeah if you don't open against Shifter). SEFK is a hard one but playing Branded i like the match up against Yubel, really easy to fuse with their board, and with branded lost you don't have to care about Fantom of Yubel. Branded need other Fusion monster to keep up against certain Deck, like an Albaz + Fire monster or water, or a new Main Deck Boss monster if you can't go on Fusion.
Personally i believe Yubel is now on equal footing to Snakes because they lost their "fluidity" of interchangeable starters/extenders making them extremely similar to how Yubel starters/extenders work. And this in combination with everyone focusing on Yubel as "the deck to beat" will hurt a lot if we take into account the entirety of Tier 2 decks having Shifter/Charmy/Floodgate. I can even see Power Filter becoming more popular. I also expect a resurgence of Fire Kings, but last time i did that (Baronne/Savage list) pure Snakes threw me off completely (at the time i was playing synchro snakes) Despite the list not doing "enough" i can honestly say I'm very excited for the format before ROTA. However on a small note, i believe the Tenpai hit was quite impactful and since this is the start of a new season i expect more board breakers than usual as it always happens immediately after a new banlist
