Someone help me, pleeease! Music info! What is the opening and closing music? And why didn;t this series go any further? It's brillliant! Wonderful to see the marvellous Helen McRory in this.
It’s the Clash! The first song was “The Magnificent Sevent” from SANDINISTA. The second song was “Bankrobber”, which was released as a single. Good stuff!
18th century British jurist, barrister , judge , professor Blackstone . Blackstone's formulation or ratio , whether you like it or not or don't t know " Better that 10 guilty men go free than one innocent man be punished . This is what UK & US criminal law is based upon .
@leafuller3153: Yes, actors name is Kevin McKidd and I believe he was a love interest/husband/ex husband of Sandra Oh's character in Grey's. British actors do get jobs in the US from time to time.
@nicolarollinson4381: This was filmed and broadcast 7 years before the ban in 2007. So smoking was allowed indoors in public places up until then, including bars, clubs and other public venues, can smoke outside in designated smoking areas still. Obviously you can do it in your own home, only people that would try to stop you would be your family if they wanted you to quit because they don't want you to get Cancer.
They all don’t look like lawyers at all, typical British drinkers and smokers, totally different than American lawyers, who look more professional & elegant
@anaasma989: I doubt that the America versions are any different, I am sure that the US has its fair share or drinkers, smokers and shaggers in the profession. They may have different protocols to follow but the people will have the same attitude, particularly the men.
This was filmed and broadcast in early 2000 with only one series and was written and created by Peter Moffat, and ha apart from Phil Davies and later on the actor and singer, Murray Head as the Judge who are baby boomers, all of the cast including the late Helen McCrory are my generation, Generation X, there ain’t any Zoomers here as most of them were still knee high to a grasshopper at this point. Woke wasn’t even on the horizon or WEF, we had that twat Blair in No.10 though.
@@robertsnowdon4293 the storyline/plot may well be great, but I don't use profanity, nor blaspheme by taking the name of God superfluously in my world, and I will not accept blasphemy and profanity in my entertainment, nor will I sit quietly, if someone speaks profanity and blasphemes the name of God in my presence.
This & SILK are the best UK law dramas ever produced! We need more like this or a 4th Season of SILK.
Yes, anything with Phil Davis, Rupert Penry-Jones, and the legal system America OUGHT to have.
Where do I find Silk? Been searching with no success. Help!
I SO 😢love British TV !!!! Thanks for posting !!!
Just the ticket. Its got zing! Looking forward to the rest of the series. Phil Davis brilliant as always.
This series is so underrated, top acting, in my top 10 UK productions
Thank you. Cheers!🇫🇰
Brilliant series. Filmed around the square in Leeds which is home to a number of legal firms.

Looks to be a great series. ⭐️⭐️👍🥰🤗
4 minutes in. Smug Alarm is wailing.
Next case...
Could we speed it up. I can almost see a person moving.

He went on to play in ROME. Marvelous. Watched the wart grow between his eyebrows unfortunately.
.any of the younger actors went on to other great shows. The guy they just arrested was Dr on Grey's Anatomy.

Is there more than 10 episodes of this series? I really enjoyed this.
Nope, I'm sorry
Well if you come across anything else of this caliber, please share. Thanks.
No reason to watch unless you enjoy a front row seat to a plague of punks in court. Not my cuppa.
I 2nd that. Five minutes of this dribble was more than enough for me to skedaddle.
Smoking indoors 😊

A small point but no barristers' chambers in Leeds can be called ' defence chambers'. They all do prosecution work too.
So good!
Why only one series? Too near the truth?
@wendischofield352: Not enough viewing figures, so only one season was ever filmed and broadcast on Channel 4.
What a ghastly crowd, a quarter of an hour in their company was quite enough.
You made it that far..?
Most crowds are ghastly.
I didnt make it very far, although I love most of the cast, it just didnt grip me 🤷♀️
North Square (TV Series 2000) / 8.1
A closed legal world steeped in tradition.
Sound missing. Please take note
Dreadful with no sound!!!
