Love your videos! I own a few of your different Forebox stoves, the cup, grinder, and the aero press! My mom passed away last January and she loved watching your videos with me. She’s the one that pushed me go ahead and place my order. She was 83 and a very sweet person. 🙏🌺
Your story with your mom is especially special for me because I used to watch dual survival with my mom before she finally passed. Thanks for letting me know.
I gotta say you’re one of my favorite UA-cam video making, product slanging internet success stories, you and your family are so wholesome and I look forward to seeing you’ve posted something new. Keep on kicking butt!
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, greetings from Northern California. Sincere thanks for sharing this beautifully filmed video. You have a fine Family. All the best to you and your Family. Stay safe and healthy out there. I look forward to your next exciting outdoor adventure. 🤗 👋
Thank you Ronald I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Here is a link to my newest video that I just made live a few moments ago: ua-cam.com/video/0P_8UaiYMgo/v-deo.html
Wonderful video, a land of wonder, great scenery. I'd love to go there to sketch and paint. The food looked real good too. Great to see the whole family along this trip.
Only you Steve could pull off cooking a roast like that👍Another epic adventure with your amazing family! You've made the Overkill camper a tempting investment..🔥 Thank you and your family for sharing, can't wait for the next episode👍✌️
Thank you for the kind words, my friend. It's truly appreciated! We have such great times out there, and those memories last a lifetime. 😁🔥take care, I hope is well with you and yours.
So much goodness in this video! I have to say, when I hit the road on my motorcycle for days on end, my AeroPress is a staple when I pack. The roast & crepes looked wonderful! Cheers!
Thank you for your patience. Winter time is always difficult for me as I'm not much of a winter camping kind of guy. It might be a while before I'm able to film another adventure video as I just broke my foot a couple days ago and got surgery today. Looks like 8 weeks at a minimum before I can do much of any hiking with the goats and dogs. Once again, thanks for your patience
Valley of the gods.... I was there about 15 years ago, traveling alone Utah and Arizona visiting National Park... Probably the most important experience in my life... It's Magic
I was there a year or two ago and was just amazed by how beautiful it is. The other thing that I found surprising is that it is not a state/national park . We have now idea how good we have it here in the US with parks and the RV lifestyle is just perfect for visiting these parks
I was just thinking yesterday that I hadn't seen any vids lately. This one popped up just now, more than 2'weeks after you posted it🤔 The desert is just so spectacular! We just don't have anything like that here in Canada. Instead of goats climbing, your kids substitute. The roast looked great, despite being a bit well done. Beef dip is one of my favorites. Thanks for a great video.
Awesome scenery. And that roast beef looked so yummy. I didn't know the small stove fits in the bigger stove bag too. ⚡👍⚡ Was that raspberry and blackberries on egg with the whipped cream? Wow, that looked so good. Note to self- Do NOT watch Firebox Stoves while hungry! 😂😄😉🤙
I love your products and have the large (g2?) stove. We've had hours of fun duplicating your recipes and cooking methods in the backyard. We'd love to use this camping but can't due to fire closures. Can't you make something just as "TRICKY" but with built in gas propane/butane burner? (Titanium would be perfect!)
I do have the new Wood Flame gas burner adapter that was used in this video. It has some very unique features including the ember glow diffuser plate and the ability to change the flame to a slow orange campfire-like flame for a traditional campfire ambience.
Awesome video as always Steve, beautiful location too, great to see the family out and about with you making memories. The roast turned out great (we need smellovision) and last but not least it’s great to see Ash and Juniper back out on the trail having fun Thanks!!
Thank you for the great comment, you are appreciated! The roast really was delicious 😋.......... especially while camping. Take care and have fun out there. 😁
Outstanding! The great experiment of a roast roasted in salt -- am now craving a French dip sandwich! Have missed your long-form videos so this was a treat. First camp of 2023 is approaching and my Firebox gear is at the top of the packing list. Well, some of it. Have so much Firebox that some of it stays home....
Ya, we are hoping to be unburied from snow here in Utah sooner than later so we can get back out there faster and get more footage. Thanks for hanging in there with us and being patient. We've got more coming!
I really need to wander Valley of the Gods! I have been there! In late June though and I can't do heat...😅 I would love to see the area all clean and wet! The colors are amazing! P.S. I love the idea of combining morning walks with the coffee brewing! I'm stealing that idea! 😊
a place I want to go to and haven't been to yet. it just moved up the list. I love your coffee time place as always. I like the roast idea, gonna bust out the stove and give that a try. Thanks for taking the time and effort to share. can't wait to get my chef knife. ATB
Really enjoying your videos. I would have love to do what your do but is past time already for me. So, the best way, right now, for me, to live the adventures, is to watch your videos. I am just waiting for the summer to be here and see you going to the lakes with your goats and your dogs and your family. It is always such a pleasure. Beautiful photography, beautiful locations, really great videos. Keep the good work. We really appreciate it.
Wow, what a beautiful location for camping, landscape I will never see in my life but nice to see you and the family out there. Great job with the beef I thought, never seen that method, what is the science behind the salt? Do you think you could have used that dirt there in the desert to insullate as well? I know in NZ where I come from the Maori used to cook food underground using hot rocks and cover it with dirt (called a Hungi) and here in Scotland where I now live the hunter gathers did a similar thing. I'm hoping to try the straw box method one day too, just out of curiosity. Interesting experiment and great breakfast too! Cheers.
The salt helps regulate the heat and provide thermal mass, it works great! Yes, dirt would work the same way. I hope to one day see where you live as well, I bet it's beautiful!! Have fun out there.
One of my mom's favourite thing is to go camping, fishing & spending time in the outdoors. She's in a better place now, probably camping & fishing. Great vid mate. Great family & sceneries. Hope Easter was kind to you with chocolates. Warm greetings from Australia.
Thank you for the comment, it is greatly appreciated!! 😊 we hope your mom is getting all the best fishing in!!! Happy Easter to you as well, take care. 😊😁😊😁
I'll keep trying and I'll keep posting the attempts until I get some real nice results. I'm sure people will like following along with the progress and the changing process 👍😎
Really good to watch this Steve. I’ve been into other UA-cam stuff lately but this was a nice checkin. Good to see good ole Ash and Junie again. Your humans are gettin big too! Such a good healthy vibe with everything you post. Thanks very much.🙏. NQU
Tired kids are good kids... whether two-legged or four-legged variety. Nice to see it's still cool to hang with mom/dad for a camping weekend. Ash got a new vest to keep warm in! That rooster does a good impression of a crow. Nice meals too!
Hi Steve and Fam, including Ash & Junie. So good to see everyone again out there enjoying nature…So inspiring! I choose your videos over any show out there-LOVE THEM! 🤗 Hubby and I are in training for the Outdoor Vital’s 100 Mile (backpacking) Challenge later this summer and I am looking forward to getting back out there as well with some of our Firebox Stove Ti gear. In the meantime, I’m very interested to hear your thoughts on your Overkill 510, please 🙏 It, along with the Bean, have been on our radar for sometime now and hopefully we will be able to pull the trigger on one of them sometime in the not too distant future. Currently the Overkill S.O.5.10 is our top choice. Thank you and your family for sharing part of your lives!!
Hi there, so glad you've been enjoying our videos and good luck on the 100 mile challenge. The trailer is a Overkill 5x10 slide out and it works great for us!!
Hi Steve, This is one of the most beautifully shot videos on UA-cam! May I ask what camera system or systems you favor for these types of places? Again this is top shelf all the way!
First time watching one of your videos. Really beautiful work and nice job editing! I've been down there a few times, and wonder if you towed your camper down the Moki Dugaway switchbacks? Could you make all of the corners without needing to back up? Thanks! Looking forward to watching more.
Lol, I'm not sure we did go down a twisty road but we show it in the beginning of the video. I'm not sure the name of it but we did not have to back up. We were able to go around all the corners just fine. Thanks for the nice comment!
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing the family trip. The roast looked amazing. 17 minutes still sounds like a long time haha. I just used the Nano and 8" cook kit on a family car camping trip this morning to make sausages, heat up some bread, and boil some water with a kettle. Pretty cool a fire can keep nephews & niece away from the iPad hah.
Lol, and that is an amazing thing, getting them away from technology. Glad to hear you've had a great time out there with your Firebox gear. Have fun out there Rod!
Amazing video! I saw one recently on another channel and that place looks incredible. I wont be able to get out til December at the earliest. Not sure about the weather at that time of year but that justs makes the adventure that much more epic. Nice Overkill trailer! You are the second OK trailer Ive seen but the first 510 SO. I picked mine up this past July. I get lots of compliments on it and it fits me and the dogs perfectly!
Thank you very much Eric! That's awesome, they really do have amazing trailers! Hopefully you have a great time out there when you can finally go, hang in there. Utah is buried in snow right now so we are all just waiting. 😊🤣😁🔥
What an incredibly beautiful place! I'd be hard pressed to leave before climbing up and exploring some of those little mesas. I'll rate this video in the Firebox top 5. I wonder if you used rock salt in your roasting container, if that would have made a difference? Maybe ice cream salt? Now, for some reason I feel compelled to pull out my (old school?) Nano and Trangia alcohol burner and my Firebox coffee kit for a brew...wonder why? Anyway, thanks for another great video, Steve and family.
Thank you kindly for your comment. That was great to read! That's great you enjoyed this video so much! 😀 guess you'll be out enjoying your Firebox gear sooner than later, thankfully!
