You can save some time by using a impact extension and universal joint to remove the bolts from the half-shaft's inner bolts securing it to the diff. This keeps you from having to remove the strut.
I'm going to perform the same job tomorrow. Still thinking will I be able to unscrew just one lover strut bolt and slide the CV axle for several inches out from the hub? I want to avoid strut removing.
Nazi Grammar I tried all different ways..the shock has to come out and it’s easy to come out..when putting the shock back in use a pry bar to lower the control arm down to fit the shock back in for the 2 bolts
@@jth1987leb this is crucial information as im in a pickle right now on which axles to order online lol hopefully they are same length because i know some or most 4x4's have different length axles
What made me cringe a little was the reference to a "customer." He didn't read the instructions for the Moog sway bar links. 18 foot pounds is the spec for the stock links but no sign of a torque wrench, here. The Moog should only have 2 or three threads showing below the barrel nut. Link is way too tight.

Tried that on the other side. The strut has to come out to make room for the cv shaft. No way around it.

CV Axle shaft is in the way of my lower strut bolt.
Take the upper balljoint nut off and it will pull the hub forward and down,no need to take strut off
You just crushed the cap 😂
Thanks for the video!
Good job 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
My hub doesnt moce up and down freely when it comes to pulling the strut out..
i have a 2010 Silverado LT 1500 4.8L 4x4, are both front CV axles the same length?
I’m not sure.
Ma tt from what I can find right and left are the same

Ma tt where I get parts has the cv shafts listed as front left or right. So they will work on either side
Chingón
My first thought at 3:01 was put some hair around it. LOL Sorry I could not resist.
You realize you did not have to take most of that stuff apart to remove the axle
On this model you do. I tried on the other side not removing as much and it don’t work.
@@jth1987leb yeah your right, I was completely wrong
Bruh you were trying to hammer the cv shaft while it still has the 6 15mm bolts connected on the inside 🤦
Not a good video
Its an excellent spot on video and how I removed and replaced the axle yesterday.
