  • From my conversation with Brian at Seaguar I knew the Tatsu line was different, but I didn't know what Double Structure Technology is, and I sure didn't know that Seaguar is the only company that makes line this way, some cool stuff. We also Itake apart some of the myths about fluorocarbon fishing lines.

    Great pair of videos. Just put Tatsu 10Lb on a spinning real this spring and really like it so far. I also have been using 30Lb Blue Label leader for northern pike for the last 5 or 6 years now. You’ll never find a steel leader on my pike gear again.

      So the heavy Blue works?

      @@KenSmithFishing yeah, it’s great. Lots of advantages over steel. 1) although it’s stiff it’s no where near as stiff as steel so you get better action on your bait. 2) great for clear water where the pike are more apt to be leader shy. 3) you can use as long a leader as you want because using the FG or Albright knot that come through the guides you can real your bait in as close as you want with no worries about the swivel on the leader crashing into the eye at the tip of your rod. I’ve had to change or retie after a fish, but I’ve never gotten bitten off. Like I said I’ll never go back.

    Awesome stuff. Should do this with a monofilament manufacturer as well for those of us who don’t use flouro.

    Just like the 1st segment, this was very in-depth and very clear as to the brand we need to use!!! I have been using invited for some time and I love it.
    So much more castable than Red Label and softer, with less memory, and yet strong enough to flip and pitch with. Very good job Ke

      Joe that’s awesome, I asked the same question (as apparently does all their pro staff). Don’t think it’s even on the horizon

    SENSITIVITY & STRETCH?
    What is the comparison of Sensitivity between each Seaguar fluorocarbon brand?
    How does sensitivity relate to stiffness with fluorocarbon lines?
    What is the comparison of Stretch between each Seaguar fluorocarbon brand?
    I'll believe that braid has the most sensitivity, but only on a tight line! Fluorocarbon has some sensitivity on a slightly slack line.
    Sensitivity helps with bottom-contact fishing!
    Low-Stretch helps with hooksets on long casts!
    Did I miss these topics?

    • @KenSmithFishing
      @KenSmithFishing  3 роки тому

      Nope I’ll add to the follow up list, wondering if there is even a way (scientifically) to measure sensitivity

    Thank you for bringing Brian on...... Learned a lot more about the composition and developement of fluro...... I live and fish up north.... Is it me, or do you note that flouro seems to get stiff and brittle in cold conditions.....??? I notice right after ice-out, jerkbait fishing, that my 10-12lb flouro is stiff as cable...... and the heavier lines such as 20lbs or worse.... Your thoughts...???

    • @KenSmithFishing
      @KenSmithFishing  3 роки тому +1

      I think certainly they seem stiffer when it’s cold (as do I!). But I’ve not experienced it making it unfishable and down here we fish football jigs a ton in Jan and February on 20

    Guess Im not the norm with Tatsu..Ive been using invizx for years and love it. Last year had some money saved up and took the plunge and ordered a 1000 yd spool from Tacklewarehouse...Ive never snapped off more with a line in my 30+ years of bass fishing!!??

    Is there a big difference in shock resistance between the lines? Sometimes that's more important than abrasion resistance.

  • @mmancino1982
    @mmancino1982 3 роки тому +1

    I had gotten away from Seaguar about 18 months ago because I had a couple of spools of Red Label that were very brittle and snapped way too easily. I will say that hearing his take on the different lines and their process is making me want to switch back, but I've become line-shy, pun intended. I'm wondering if there's a way to know whether or not that was a fluke and their QC is still good?

  • @brentshimanek3149
    @brentshimanek3149 3 роки тому +1

    Fluorocarbon is only affected by physical stress. So is the line and lure conditioner just sitting on the line? I always thought it had some kind of chemical affect on the line.

    Ton of great information, but probably a bit more than this old brain can remember a few weeks down the road. It probably exists but I’ll ask anyway, is there a chart that presents this same information somewhere? Particularly things like what/why a particular line was developed for. If a visual reference exists could you please provide a link to it? Thanks, great video.
