Well, looks like its time for a few mini stories. Hope you all enjoy! In other news, we ran into a few copyright issues that have been delaying our uploads, but recording-wise we're pretty much back on schedule now. We'll be releasing our commentaries for the next couple episodes as soon as we can get those copyright issues resolved.
I agree the Apple's story ending came out of nowhere. But it looks like he struck a magic rock which are apparently a significant thing in Equestria Chrisilis's throne and Maud's statements about magic rocks.
According to Norse mythology (or so I've heard in some reviews of this episode.) Odin grants great strength to those he finds worthy of it. If the Mighty Helm ARE like Vikings/Norsemen and have the same pantheon of deities (in a sense.) That might be why Rockhoof beefed up
That dragon is Ember's father, Torch. The green dragon seems to be her mother, since Ember has the same facial features as her? Ember did seem to inherit her father's horns, though.
Thoughts from this episode: 1. Norse, Chinese, Roman. Cool! (Edited from Greek and Japanese) 2. World building 3. Timeline plotpoint 4. What did that shovel pony hit! 5. HOW DO SHADOWS WORK!! 6. Unicorns can't use earth magic or it drains them of life! Then Twilight using magic to grow the crops in ep 11 WAS EARTH PONY MAGIC!!! Earth pony magic explained!! 7. Young Torch?! Cool! Then he must be serving his time's dragon lord. 8. Cute bonding moments between "sisters"! 9. Dang it, was wishing Vincent was FLASH Magnus. Would have made that too perfect. 2nd watch: 1. Wait, lava doesn't flow that fast! And looking closer, he should have gotten burned! 2. AHHHH!! Twilight dancer flashback! Whyyyyy!! 3. That cave must be really unstable if it took I kick to create a collapse. How are they not dead yet? 4. Wait what? Oh! Earth pony magic allows you to light fires really quickly. Ok! And, by the Nordic and Chinese stories, we know that earth ponies can handle and control the magic of the earth without destroying themselves in the process. Mistmane was basically an earth pony for the rest of her life, earth magic flowing out of her constantly. However, it destroyed her connection to other magic. 5. Wow, more hate on spike. And after a spike episode too! 6. Ok, enchanted item recap from this ep. We have the rock of strength, used to help the greeks and probably ties into a thor relic. And we have the shield of fire resistance, probably tieing back to Titus? God of IDK. 7. Did Flash just make a hoverboard? Fire surfboard? Whatever it is, Cool! 8. Wait, the cave goes down and water flows down. But it is said they were heading towards falls and when the arrive, the falls are in a clearing. So does this mean they were hiking up a mountain just to go down it? Though, the falls could be in a clearing in a secluded part of the forest but the falls are in perfect view of the skies.... This makes no sense!! Big deal of this episode: EARTH PONY MAGIC!! Unicorns who use earth pony magic are drained of their life force and pernamently radiate earth magic. Only an alicorn's power can stop from being consumed by said use of magic, explaining ep 11. Her flowing mane also explains that a high abundance of magic can affect how a mane works. This has come up on other comments so I will address it. The first story of Rockhoof is meant to be symbolic, that through determination, he changed in the eyes of the public from a scrawny kid to a capable man. It is not literal. The 2nd story of Mistmane is personal sacrifice for the good of others as well as knowing that beauty is a blessing and a curse. Lastly, the story of Flash Magnus is about how out thinking an opponent is just as important as strength. Without both, each fail on their own. Teamwork creates success. The last lesson of the episode is shown in the CMC's excitement to stay at the falls. While hard times accompany you to your goal, the end achievement makes all the pain worth it. And, if you look back on it, you can see fun and lessons where anger and hate used to be.
I heard that it's actually the other way around but production schedules meant the comics were published before the episode debuted. Either way hooray for close collaboration, I guess.
1. 1:50 Kristina: "This is literally us camping." Hopefully not as many bugs though. 2. 5:00 Scootaloo: "We aren't going to tell *scary* stories like our last camping trip, are we?" Kristina: "The only scary story _I_ need is Rainbow Dash's face right now!" ua-cam.com/video/XDTW9Dd7ORM/v-deo.html 3. 9:36 David: "Also, how'd she do that with her hooves?" Rarity was shown to be capable of grand illusions when she put on that private fashion show for Hoity Toity in Suited For Success. A simple shadow puppet illusion would be nothing to her.
Yeah, the lens got a bit messed up a couple months ago and I still need to get it fixed. I'm pretty sure the dirt here is actually _under_ the glass on the front of the camera though, so the fix is non-trivial.

wow, you guys got a lot better at editing
+Dallin We did? Isn't this the exact same way we've always done it?
I agree the Apple's story ending came out of nowhere. But it looks like he struck a magic rock which are apparently a significant thing in Equestria Chrisilis's throne and Maud's statements about magic rocks.
Either that, or as Applejack said, "sheer force of will".

I think Rarity's was better because Rarity's legend felt the most fictionally realistic... you get what I mean?
Yeah exactly; that one felt like it could actually be a real-world legend.
"Continuity!!"
Thank you, Silver Quill. :P
7:48-7:56 Rockhoof went from "Zero to Hero!"
YOU'S A HERCULES FAN?
AshKirby Sure. It's one of my favorite Disney films from the 90's.

Flying Spiders are a pretty good reason for me to never go camping.

I thought that Rarity didn't like getting wet,but what can I say, it's just water.
Perhaps Torch became dragon lord soon after the event of Flash Magnus and reigned over the dragons for many years.
Rockhoof = Hercules
You guys are my top fav reactors im looking forward to your season 8 & 9 reactions
Me too, and for the mlp movies!!!😊👌
These stories are from the Legends is Magic Comics
Yup!

I heard that it's actually the other way around but production schedules meant the comics were published before the episode debuted. Either way hooray for close collaboration, I guess.
its not but expands on them
They are all real historical stories. :D
Historical in the sense of the show's universe
All these legends are actual legends in equestria and the characters are important
Sorry I'm late. You can blame Hurricane Irma for cutting off my internet.

Wow, I didn't realize you lived close to that. Good to hear you're okay.
Dont you hate fly-ders??
What's up with the quality on your camera?
Got some dust behind the glass, need to get it fixed.
King sombra died
Hi
Hi
Your camera lens needs a cleaning...just sayin'
Yeah, the lens got a bit messed up a couple months ago and I still need to get it fixed. I'm pretty sure the dirt here is actually _under_ the glass on the front of the camera though, so the fix is non-trivial.
