That's a thing of beauty. 45 hp on the lightweight bike makes is fast enough to have fun with, At the same time it have a low enough fuel consumption to make it economical for everyday use or for longer trips as well. hope to see some storage option like backseat bag or something similar. Can't wait to get me one of these when they become available.
I own a 2014 Ninja 300SE with 16,000 miles on it and I love it to death. Even drove it from South East Wisconsin to Niagra Falls New York. Sounds like they took an already good bike and just perfected it.

I have CB400sf revo. It is so fun not because of 53ps but 4 cylinders engine. This new Ninja 400 has very COOL design. If It is new 4 cylinders engine, I will buy it.

God that looks like it will be a fun bike. really impressed by the features and the 168kg weight.
Put it into an versus 400, give it good suspension, 21/18 wheels, 200mm ground clearance, 40+hp with good low end torque and keep the weight around 180 or so, and I'm all in!

Nice to see bikes being made that people can actually use. I'd rather ride a Ninja 400 and really use the powerband in all gears than a big bore bike that i'd NEVER safely get to redline in 2nd gear. Nobody that has even a 600cc bike can USE the power. I like gears and powerband. Will be interesting to see Yamaha's response to the Ninja 400.
Best part is this being an all new engine instead of continuing to use the 300's old Ninja 250 based design. Looks like it belongs to the same design family as the 650, and overall the bike looks more like a shrunken Ninja 650 in terms of quality, but just a bigger 300 in terms of weight. Thats a great combination! But now I sense an upcoming Z400 and Versys 400... Either way I would gladly buy a Ninja 400 since it seems Honda is not going to sell the 250RR or a bigger variant of it globally. But I think we will see a 400 of some kind from Honda soon.

Hope this will enter Philippines. Because our express way requires 400 cc minimum bikes
if government require 400cc, this bike cannot enter expressway because the actual engine capacity is 399cc.

zher rodolf forro ktm rc390 and duke 390 are actually 375cc only but the lto rounded it off to 400cc ..
now thats just great .. too bad i cant sell my r3 just to get the ninja 400 .. 😣

In some markets this bike doesn't makes sense unless it's meant to replace the Ninja 300; as of right now here in Colombia the 300 it's $4920 USD, parts are scarce and expansive plus the added manteinance cost; if the 400 comes closes to that price with better replacement support, that would be a hit

kah motor Penang I wouldn't look at it that way. Versys X 300 is a great bike and it will be at least 2019-20 when 400 version goes into production.
There is also $700 price hike for 400 so if you want to trade in 2 years down the road you wouldn't be loosing too much.

this ninja has been a great update to the 300. the only thing it's missing is one more cylinder. Kawasaki would have owned the small displacement category with a 450cc triple. a 450cc triple would be rare. no need for a four cylinder 400cc. wouldn't ZX-450 TR sound catchy? zx-450r triple!

Everyone said it copied the R3 design. But I can tell their intention to inspire H2 design on this bike, just like a small curve on the ZX10R front cowl. So yeah, jokes on you LOL

I never understood why motorcycle makers make so many displacement engines. I mean is a 600cc that much of a difference than 650cc? Or a 250 vs 300?

the abs variet of kawasaki ninja 400 cost 3.5 lakh in exssorrom of india.and it will clearly hit 3.8-4 lakh in onroad pricing .and its perfect bike but yeah it can made better for 4 lakh
45 ps from 400 cc is far from powerful, but I guess this is for developing markets. 4 cylinder 80 ps, light weight 400 cc bike would be nice.
Honda CB400 Super Four makes 55hp, CBR650F makes 85hp. You're optimistic, nobody will make a 400cc supersport.
Kawasaki zxr 400 made 59hp. I guess time for high power 400s is over. Seems even 120+ hp 600 cc bikes are thing of the past. Well in my country at least. Dealers are selling only litre supersports.
my 400 makes 60hp to the wheel
This is designed for a lot of country laws to meet the LAMs power to weight ratio requirement. It literally is the max power to weight allowed so its been done on purpose.
I think with mods it will be a pretty cool bike. Can't wait to see what people do with it next year.
