thank you so much brandon. i purchased klwp several months ago and just got not find a video i could comprehend. i think the voice instructions, as opposed to the many tutorials where you silently watch a pen bounce around the screen, made the difference. and showing the viewers how to copy and paste, pure gold!

I was looking for ideas for my new home screen and stumbled across this. (i.4cdn.org/w/1509348739223.webm) It's safe to click don't worry. I have no clue how to do it, I looked everywhere but couldn't find an answer. I was interested in the animation from the first screen to the second where the person had all of their apps stored, as well as a different wallpaper. Have any idea on how to do this?

Thanks! I used Zooper as well. It was a great app and still is. In my opinion, KLWP has zooper beat though. The grouping and animation abilities and ways you can save, share, etc make it the customization app to beat.

Trying to figure out something else for the background scroll trigger. would there be a way to turn off the global when we scroll away from the page? fading is cool, but i wanna turn the global off completely and only have it turn back on via the button. Is this possible at all by chance?

At 9:10 you mention adding another action button to do something else. How do I do that? For example I have a button which animates out my main icons in which one is a music icon I would like to press and have my music player animate out of. Is there any way to do that? Thanks

Aye bro is it possible to make it to where when u press one button and the stuff shows up it make the other buttons stuff hide because on this preset it goes both way but i want one to be a timer instead but when i change the button type to a timer then press the other one it goes over the timer image and it wont let me turn it off because the button that i guess turns it off is in the timer button but the button isnt a turn off button it only works if the timer button isnt a time button but a formula so they can switch i guess only if i knew how to change the button but the formula is multiple groups combined into one formula so its not really possible to click on all the formulas and add a animation i guess this should just be the main question is how to add animation to multiple groups

I am new to KLWP and a lot has changed since you ve posted this and right now I am struggling. All I wanted to do was create a text lets say social and when I click on that it opens a folder of all the social apps on my phone (folder background to be transparent) and when I click one of them it launches the app . the animation of the of the folder can be sliding in or sliding out or pop in pop out. However I am unable to find a tutorial regarding this as the inter face has changed with lots of new functionalities

Hi, great tutorial, right pace, right detail, no not needed extra. Just one little question, I set 2 screens in KLWP, but only one screen on the phone, do I have to go in nova and set to screen too? Do I have to use multi-picture live wallpaper? Thanks in advance.
That's exactly what you need to do. Set the number of screens on your launcher to match the number of screens in klwp. If it still seems a little funky, I find that reopening klwp and saving will fix it.

I have just started using kustom so i have one question. Is there a way to remove the app drawer icon from the bottom of an s7
I use Nova Launcher and I hide the dock with that app.
is there a way to link an icon to perform the same function as the app drawer icon through the Touch/app launch setting. I cant see it in the app list to link too.

5:40 my global switch doesnt return back to the original starting point. It slides to the right, but then doesnt come back all the way...
Did you save and try using the switch on your actual wallpaper instead of the klwp app? Using these techniques, pressing the global switch once will send the object out and pressing the global switch again will return the object.
I have do same thing without launcher it apply fade out but no touch on nova launcher button response on but fade out not work
I tell ya what.... upload your preset to your google drive or dropbox, make a request at idomath.weebly.com and share the link to your preset. I want to help, but I can't determine what the problem is if I can't see how you have things koded in KLWP. Have you tried the setup on your default launcher (ex: samsung devices is touchwiz)?
Quick question if anyone can answer it. I have a button and when I go to trigger its action I want it to launch and app. But its preset to launch FB messenger. Whenever I try to change this and save it and it still launches FB messenger? Is there something I'm doing wrong?
When you open the advanced editor back up and go to change its touch again, does it still show Facebook messenger or the app you chose?
if i share the .klwp file to friends phone do they need klwp installed or can they run it with the free version of nova

I'm new to klwp but whenever I try setting the anchor to anywhere it stays at the top or wherever it is, any idea on how to fix this?
It sounds like you may be trying to adjust the anchor of a item that sits inside an overlap group. If you want to anchor something on the entire screen, make sure you are adjust the position of the item that sits directly in root and not inside an overlap group. I recommend that you check out my beginner series of video tutorials. There are about 10 of them. All of those and more can be found at idomath.weebly.com/klwp .
@ 4:30, instead of adding the time, I want to add music, so that it opens or shows the current music playing, I can't find out how to do that??

I worked out what was wrong. Having the button right on the bottom puts it in the nova app and widget drawer which stops it working for some reason??? Moved the button just above it and it works.
This video is one of the first, if not the first video I did. I have learned a lot since then and have since incorporated similar techniques into animations and what not. I understand that there are ALOT of videos on my channel for KLWP. Give it time and you will see other techniques for animations on your preset as you become more familiar with KLWP. Glad you got it worked out!
I apologize if my questions are getting annoyed but I am fairly new to all this. My current setup is a button in the center on a switch. Upon tapping the button it disappears causing another one to appear in its place and icons to shoot out around it. One of these icons when tapped activates another switch which moves it and opens another page. What I want is when I tap the main button to close all the icons I want the icon to return to its original location each time without having to press the icon itself to turn off the switch. Is there any way to do this? Thank you!
You are not annoying at all. In your case, you are just getting started and I know it can be crazy to find the help you need in all of my KLWP videos. That's what I'm here for.... to direct you to a video that will help, or at times I may need to make a new one. In your case, I think I have several videos that can help you.
It sounds like applying the text or list global will help you here. Though I use both for this type of application, the text global is highly more versatile. I have a few videos on the text global.

Thanks! Nova launcher prime has the dock. Double tap gesture to bring it up. It works great during regular use. I used samsung side sync foer the video so the touch gesture can be a little funky then.

Thanks. This video does have some age and the way I do things in KLWP now have changed. I find myself using list globals and text globals to accomplish animations (and many other things as well). Those concepts are introduced in other videos I have published on my channel.

In using an S8 nougat. My animations are working in klwp but not when applying the wallpaper, doesn't work on screen?
Does any part of your kustom live wallpaper show on the homescreen? If not, you need to make sure to apply KLWP as your wallpaper. If it does show and the animation isn't working, describe what your animation is and how you are "activating" the animation.... (ex. BG Scroll, toggling a button, etc).
Brandon Craft hey thanks for the reply. I found That the dock area on the S8 is so large-takes up over 20% of the screen- that when placing it behind or in the dock area action button is has no function.

This is an oldie and I rarely use the on/off switch for my animations now. I since have used text and list globals to achieve a lot of my animations. How can I make a widget appear with this technique ?

You can apply the animation to the entire widget. Make sure the group you have the widget in lies inside root. I recommend watching the beginner series I have made for KLWP to get used to the terminology.... root, overlap groups, stack groups, komponents, etc.

You need to incorporate a text global or a list global. Two different techniques that can do pretty much the same thing. I recommend watching both of these videos. They both require formulas, but if you are looking for the least amount of formula work, then the list global is probably going to be the route you need to take.

You can still incorporate it, but it sounds like you want to have several buttons and when you press one something animates, but when you press another, it animates something else in.... making the previous "thing" animate away. The text or list global will cover all of that without the need of an on/off switch. It is the better solution IMO.
Something is wrong. I can get things working in the preview making stage. When I go to main home screen nothing happens. Button won't work at all. Why doesn't it work in the main screen? I made sure global is switched on and followed your instructions over and over for nearly 2 hours. I'm completely flummoxed!
I dont' know why nova blocks that part of your screen. I use Nova as well. Maybe since I have the dock set to toggle on double tap???
hello hope you might know what is wrong for my, i have as you show, but is not working, then i tried on of free one, they dont work either, they dont registrate you touch a button, is there some in nova launcher there can make this happen. i have tried reinstall KLWP
Have you tried disabling the dock in nova launcher? I use gesture (double tap) to toggle the dock on and off. Also, have you tried the haptic feedback in KLWP to see if you feel a vibration when you touch something that is suppose to have an action?
Thank could not get i to work. So i uninstalled nova and klwp, restarted my phone and install them again, now i works..
That's interesting. Maybe a clear cache next time may do the trick instead of complete reinstall.

I still have this one question - what Android emulator are do you use? I've tried DroidX, Dolphin, Bluestacks, but i always get errors with them and i cant run KLWP on them. Thanks in advance!
Glad they are helping! If you have a Samsung device, go with Samsung SideSync. That's what I use. It works farely well. I doesn't like my wacom tablet from time to time. It also doesn't work well with my Mac keyboard on more occasions than none. Overall, its still the ideal way for me to get these tutorials to you all.

You're welcome. It's a little funky at times with the touch. Sometimes a tap on the trackpad is read as a long press on the phone, but overall it works fairly well. Maybe that's just my experience though.

Another question, I'm using global text, and I'm trying to make for instance the game button to pull up a wheel type of all games, similar to the one you did in the begining of the video. Is it possible to make that happen if 1st I'm using a global text, and 2nd icons instead of shapes?
In short, yes it is possible. If you want each icon to animate separately, you will need to put each icon in root. You could put all the icons inside of one overlap group and have it scale out, but you will not get the wave effect like I did in the video. The "wave" effect requires each item to animate on its own, incorporating delays.
Brandon Craft I have the button as the trigger that will pop up all 6 different icons, but the problem is I tried to do 2 at the same time and it would not pull up at the same time, any reason why
I'm not following you. I understand that you are popping six up at one time. What are you referring to when you say 2 at the same time? If all six are popping up, where does the "2" come into play? Thanks.
Brandon Craft I meant to say that six of them are not popping up all at the same time, so I went back to do 2 at a time and that didn't work either. So I don't know how I can pop all of them up at once with the different animations, while using global text variable. Do I have to use different formulas on each of them or not?
It should work. There must be something wrong with the code you are using. I need to see what your formulas are in order to determine the problem. You can post a video that shows all of this and I could determine faster. AZScreenRecorder or an app similar will allow you to record your screen.
How would I put an icon like instagram or facebook on my buttons to where I can then click and would take me to the actual app?
Also, my buttons won't fade out when i scroll out of my center screen like you showed. In my klwp it does fade out but in my home screen it won't.
Andres Avila You can use an included for the icon in klwp or you could use your own image. Add it to your preset and then, under the touch tab, you can set the touch to open app. Choose the app you want to open and you're done!

Ahmed Maher Animations are not allowed in KWGT. I do have a tutorial on using the list global and KWGT to have things "pop" in and out.... I guess you could call it a fast animation.

KLWP is not a laucher.... it's a live wallpaper. Good stuff. Check it out. There's a free version to experiment.

I am very new to KLWP, can you make a button that has apps in it? I would like it to have my most used apps inside. I cant seem to find a tutorial for this. Ty!
What you would want to do is add a touch to the item that animates. Then you set that touch to open an app and you pick the app you want to open. All of this can be done in KLWP.

I have this button toggling between different Komponents. Some of them have touch responses. Pressing the main button will switch them out, but the touch buttons of the other ones still remain in the background. Could you tell me how to make it so, that if the Komponent has faded away, it also stops the buttons from working?

Whatever you are trying to animate must be set to react on BG Scroll. I have two videos on BG Scroll that may help. They are older videos, like this one, but may provide the information you need.

Brandon Craft I think I found the problem. I run a patched version of Nova launcher and it makes it so it can't communicate with KLWP
I see. So restoring the stable version of Nova fixed the issue?

Do a fade animation on the object to react based on an on/off switch. Then use "touch" for the button to trigger the on/off switch.

Nope. This video has some age on it and it was done on a Verizon Note 4, which was "unrootable". The app is KLWP, the screen mirroring software is Samsung Sidesync. I now use Vysor just as much. All without root.

is it possible to create a Komponent of FAB?
You can add a FAB, but it will not animate in a komponent. If you want to animate something that thing has to be directly in root of KLWP (or KLCK).

You can't animate individual elements inside a komponent, but you can animate the entire komponent as long as the komponent is directly in root of KLWP or KLCK.

I'm still really wary about diving into this app. On question I had was what do you do with your dock? I'm guessing your using either Nova or GEL. What do you have for your dock settings (yes I'm going to mimic them). Guess this is going to have to be a do and learn. =\
Nova is my launcher. However, I have become more familiar with KLWP and this app will allow you to make a dock 10 times better and more customizable. This eliminates having to use the Nova dock should you choose to do so. The only reason you should be wary about this app is the learning curve. It's a great app but there is SOOOO much you can do. It can be a bit overwhelming and definitely time consuming.
Dave Handler get the app, join the G+ community for kustom, watch a few of my vids and see what this app is truly about. People are making GREAT wallpapers with this app.

I made it through this whole video, then I went back to try & add an icon in the first button overlap group. Now my other ones that slide out are gone & I just see a red square outline only. I cannot for the life of me figure out what's wrong. Please help?
I should add that I added pictures (icons) instead of time & weather like you did. Followed everything else the same.
Do you have all of the different icons animating based off of the same button and global switch?
Brandon Craft thank u SO MUCH for getting back to me! I did use the same animation settings as you instructed in the video. Also, I did start off with importing a premade wallpaper, the download was called "CMX - Side Sektors for KLWP". The button & the icons that slide out are at the very bottom of my items list.
Seriously any advice is MUCH appreciated. I've used KWGT for a long time now & LOVE it, but this is my first go at making something in KLWP. I've played with it for a long time, but now I'm actually trying to make my own WP thanks to your video. Thanks again!

I would recommend starting from a blank preset and trying to do the animations before implementing into other wallpapers. The reason I say that is because the other wallpaper may have other things that block animations, such as: clips, bg scroll animations, layer visibility, etc. I could help more if you were to export the preset you are working on and then you add it to some type of cloud storage and then submit a request for me to troubleshoot the preset. There's too many things that could be causing this and therefore it's near impossible to diagnose the issue without looking at it myself.
I'm using this method to make a 3 folder type thing, it's all working great, but what I'm stuck on is having it in the animation it has the first time you hit the button.... say if I hit again right after I've closed it, it just pops up right in the final position instead of the opening animation... like I said, this is my first ever attempt at using this KLWP
Ok. Do you mind sharing a screen video or some screen shots that show the issue you are having? Also, is it just one button you are using and are you just trying to animate one thing? ***** I actually figured out what was wrong, I was using the overshoot animation, and I think it's because I was being impatient and not letting it reset into it's stopped possition I guess you'd say...So what I actually did was just put it on "straight" instead...I'm happy to post a vid anyways to get any feedback or pointers from you, my one gripe I do have is that, but I know there's no way to fix this issue I'm sure, is I can only fit a certain amount of apps in each folder(it's obv not like a "true" folder)
Actually, there is a way that you can add more apps to the folder and have things change dynamically, but it requires stack groups, layer visibility, and lots of coding. It's doable though.
In time lol I've got them in there with stack groups...I was only able to go rows of 3 due to size I guess....I'm hoping in time I'll figure more out, I'm actually changing my trigger button look to look more like a sticker on the wall.... gonna use something 80s to fit in with the 80s look of the wallpaper
Nothing wrong with that. I can do the meat and taters of getting things to work, but making things look "good" is not my forte. There some some folks over at the Kustom Official and Kustom Gallery G+ community that make some really nice looking presets with proper shadow effects, unqiue animations that work real nice together, etc. Have a look at those two communities if you haven't already. Lots of great people over there.

is there any chance that you could point me to a link that could show me the simplest way to make .apk files from my .klwp files. I heard that KLWP can do it but i cannot find any options for it.

When you press the button, they should go back in. Also, check out idomath.weebly.com/klwp for a full list of all of my klwp tutorials. Check out the LIST global variable video I have. It's great.... I use it all the time for animations. The text global variable tutorial is another must.

You need to press the button again to have the object(s) go back. You can also use the auto off feature that has been incorporated into KLWP for the on/off global switch. That feature was not part of the on/off global switch when I made this video.

Animations based on BG Scroll are a little weird to wrap your head around. I still do trial and error with BG Scroll, when I use it that is.
for me it's is set as wallpaper no action apply

The button will trigger fade out, then when you press the button again, it should fade back in.

It works for me. You are probably doing something incorrectly with the koding or global.
Here is a quick way to test...
Create a global on/off switch... call it "switch"
Add a shape to ROOT. We will animate this shape. For the shape, go to animation.
ReactOn: Global Switch
Pick the global switch you called "switch.
Action: Fade out.
Now, add another shape (your button) to root. Apply touch to that button to toggle global switch and pick the switch.
So... again... quick test to show that fade out does work.

launcher didn't recognise scroll now l use apex launcher and it's works
There is a setting in Nova to make that work. However, if you are happy with Apex, then theme on! I'm glad you got it working.
