Been enjoying your videos a great deal, a very good set of instruction to what is at first a difficult subject. Even better after a bit of a struggle got a map to appear on my screen!!
I'm glad to hear that the tuts are helping man. There is a steep learning curve when it comes to KLWP, but like anything else, with practice comes addiction. :)

How to save an overlay group stuffs as a komponent
Add a komponent to your preset and then copy and paste the groups into that komponent. Then export the komp.
Mine doesn't work, do i need an API key? Where can I get one of those then?

Just seen your video about adding a compass to KLWT, This got me thinking about adding the compass to the map page in KLWT, however it is not much use if you don;t know which direction is North on the Map, Is there anyway to get this added? Then the 2 would work well together especially in a strange place, for those of us without a sense of direction!
Richard Rigby It should be possible. I'd have to mess around with the map and gyroscope a little to figure it out. Make a request at idomath.weebly.com/klwp and I'll add it to the queue. There's a good chance I can bump this up the line a little because I had a request to revisit the map tutorial. I could tie this into that if you are interested.

Hi Sir I tried the URL but it doesn't show any bitmap, I tried searching on the web and it seems like there are some changes with the API keys and stuff, and that we might need to pay to gain access?? Are there any alternatives we can use aside from google maps?

I have turn on my GPS, the weather and my location its appear in my KLWP theme, but the map is not showing. My phone resolution is 1080 x 1920, i try to set size=1080x1920 it's not working too....can you help me...??
The size of the device screen should not impact the map showing. I think keeping the size as is should be fine. There is probably something minor missing from your code. Copy and paste that here.
Hi! What do I want to paste if i want my land transparent? Is there something like an alpha-value?
Is there an opacity setting to adjust in the map styler? I can't remember and am replying through my phone at the moment. You could always adjust the opacity inside if klwp but it will make the entire map with roads, water, etc transparent.

Working perfectly now thanks for the help, by the way is there anyway to create a button that will force update the gps location, sometimes the map doesn't keep up with where I am and I wouls like to be able to force update the GPS data
There is a Kustom Action that forces updates when you apply it to "touch". I don't know if that forces gps or not though.... worth a shot.
The only custom actions I have are for RSS updates weather etc nothing specifically for GPS. I have been trying it using the force weather update, thinking that KLWP will try to establish a location before getting the weather data and this appears to be working. Thanks for all your help and keep up the tutorials.
There is a way to do it through tasker and set a profile to get your gps position however often you wish..... or set a button to run the task which determines your location. You could then broadcast a variable from tasker the klwp that gives the coordinates of your location within the task that determines your location.

Does this require an API key?
I don't think google maps works anymore, but I could be wrong since i haven't tried in a while. I have a mapquest video that may provide an alternative.

Great vid, I have copied your tutorial a have good map thanks to it , I have tried to add plus and minus zoom buttons but can't get them to work, I have used a text global variable with an if statement in the touch section for the button but still no joy, can anyone give me some pointers

OK so I have created a text global variable called zoom with an initial value set at 15, in the map part I have put zoom=gv(zoom) rather than a number. I know this part works because if I change the value of gv(zoom) manually then the zoom on the map changes. I have then got a + icon that I have set with a touch action of toggle global variable. To this I have added various kodes including gv(zoom) +1 thinking this would just add 1 to the gv(zoom) variable but it didn't, I then used various versions of $if(gv(zoom)
Try a list global of all the zoom numbers you want, in order, separated by commas (since it is a list). You can call the list "zoom" so you can still use gv(zoom) in your formula. Then add a button for addition and set touch to toggle zoom global and pick "next" for its touch. Then do the same for a subtract button, where the toggle goes to previous. This should work. I have the same setup on mine. Keep me posted.

kind of an issue and it might be my end but I got the map to show but the colors do not apply, I don't know if it's the &style string code or what but it is not registering with the map

+Antônio Marcos Do you mean in the MapStylr program? I just zoomed out using the buttons in the bottom right corner of the map screen in MapStylr. Then, I found the US, then zoomed in on North Carolina, then zoomed in gradually on my location.

+SALO WALL Use the link... snazzymaps.com/editor At this site, click on default, or any preset, then click apply style. Once you do that, you can start choosing the options you want to change and apply the colors. Its a little different than how I cover it in the video because I used mapstylr. However, the koding in KLWP will be the same. As you add your own settings to the map, you can view the code in snazzymaps, its near the top center of webpage... Look for that. It will display the code in JavaScript, but you can still see all the pieces that you need to apply to your kode in KLWP.
