Hi Kseniya, thanks again for all the videos! These are super helpful! Glad to be a subscriber of your channel! One question on 864 and 864a; the questions that have the most recent (3 years) total income. This should have the joint income (sponsor + household member income), is it not?
Great video. I have a question I'm confused about, can the intended immigrant combine their income with the sponsor even if the intended immigrant works out of the country but lives in the USA?
Hi - thanks so much for your videos! I'm a USC is sponsoring their spouse and we both live with my parent and sister - I was wanting to know if the household size needs to be all four of us or just 3? I will need to use my parent's income as a household member and my parent has my sister on their tax return as a dependent.
Hey Kseniya, so my wife is sponsoring me and she does not have enough annual income. I am currently on my F1- stem opt and work here in USA. Can i add my income in order to fullfill requirement? Also according to the video i dont need to fill out i864A right? As i am little confused as it says you need to be US citizen and you cannot sponsor yourself things like that on USCIS website.
Hi Kseniya! Thank you so much for all your videos, they have helped me so much! I do have a question for my specific case, my husband (petitioner) is filing for AOS for me (principal immigrant), he doesn’t make enough income so his mother is going to help. She doesn’t live with us but she includes my husband as a dependent in her taxes. Should she fill out form I864 as a joint sponsor or 864A as household member?
Thanks very much for the valuable videos. I have a query: Part 4 of I-864A total income- the tax return is joint with main sponsor, do I need to write in 2a, 2b and 2c of part 4 the combined total income mentioned in the tax return?
Hi Kseniya. Thanks for the very informative videos.I have a question about a household member. My daughter is a US citizen. She filled out I-130 and I-864 for me. Now NVC asked her to add her husband as a household and fill out I-864-A. In which form she has to add her husband as a household? Thanks
Hi Kseniya, thanks for putting together such a valuable video. Even though that you stated on the video at 18:52 that this form has to be signed by hand my question is: Can I digitally signed (electronically drawing my signature) in Adobe Acrobat? Thanks in advance.

You’re real life experience is great. I am filing 1-130+A, my wife and I were virtually married. 9 Oct 2021. I traveled to her home Feb 24th 2022 so the marriage has been consummated. Which is required under what they call a proxy marriage. Do you have experience with this? After paying quite a sum of money to a real recognized visa assistance company they were informed by USCIS that they were no longer allowed to process virtual marriages I don’t know if they did something wrong I assume they did anyhow my money is supposed to be refunded according to their text to me. You can imagine what this news was to My wife and I who have worked with them over 15 months felt like. I really like doing it myself. My daughter-in-law and immigrant from the Philippines suggested we do it ourselves she can help me and I want him to follow everything that you have and I’ve been watching your program and I feel more comfortable with your information. That’s why I sent you a little something this morning I’m not trying to buy your support of what I’m trying to do I’m just trying to say I really appreciate it let me know if you have some body that you’ve had to assist in this thank you, have a great day.
Can you do a video of I-864a household member from a brother or sister in law or other that is not the original petitioner of I-864. Page 2 on i-864 a when it say “ i the sponsor “ what name to put in that part and page 4 and 5 who sign it
Hello Kseniya, very helpful your videos I have done everything on my own for my two parents who are out of the country following your videos , they are very detailed oriented. starting with the I130, now working with the NVC. When I did my taxes of last year my second daughter was not born yet, I believe I have to include her on the i864 as another child correct? Thanks
If you are completing Form I-864A, which is used to supplement an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864), and you have filed your tax returns in different ways (3rd most recent jointly and 2nd and 1st most recent separately), what should you do?
Your videos have helped me so much oh wow. I have one question. I am filing i864a but there are 4 applicants that my husband are petitioning for. Do I need to do 4 forms or add all 4 applicants to one form
Thank you! So helpful! Between when I submit my application and when I will be interviewed, I will probably not be living with the household member. Would it make more sense to just use them as a joint sponsor from the start or just bring an updated joint sponsor application when I have the interview? Thank you!!!
Thank you for your wonderful videos. I am a citizen and I filed a Petition for my Mom and I will fill out the I-864 but I want to know if I can submit my tax returns that I have with my husband, we pay taxes as a couple.
Hello, Kseniya. I have a question. My friend is going to be a sponsor for her family member. She doesn't have enough income, so she needs a joint sponsor. She wants her boyfriend to be the one, however they reside in the same household. In this case he will have to fill out I864a, or a different form? (They reside in the same household). Thank you!
thank for your videos , very educated. i have a question , if i am married does my husband has to do form 864a? i am petitioning my parents. but he is not resident yet, but we do married filling joinly taxes .
Hi, I love your videos and its helping me through this process of applying for Adjustment of Status through marriage based greencard. My wife’s last year income isn’t enough to sponsor me so we got her Dad to be the joint sponsor. My lawyer wants my mother-in-law to fill up the i864A. Does it make sense for my mother-in-law to fill up the I864A when me and my wife live together and not with her parents.
I am actually on this process as this point . My husband had his appt and they informed my income is not sufficient. Me and his mom do live together so can I do the i864a household member ?
If Wife makes 0 income but file Taxes together with husband. Husband can take full responsibility of wife’s parents and fill the I-864 as joint Sponsor or he needs to do the I-864A ?
Hi Kseniya, thanks for really informative page and videos. I have a question regarding HHM I-864A. NVC asked me to add my spouse (intending immigrant) as a HHM and asking file I-864A under her name. But in this vide you mentioned that (part 2, 1a) if my spouse is intending immigrant then we do not need file that form. What need to do then, filing or not and if not what form or supporting letter we need to send or respond for them I-864A request. Thank you. Best regards, Elchin
Your video help me a lot to complete the form 864 A as a Household member but I got rejected my husband 864 A and I has to submit as a joint sponsor but all the form are only Household member.
Hi thanks for your work and sharing informative videos , I am filing I485 with I864W and I765, I693, I131 I am beneficiary of F3 family and spouse also filing same forms as she is here but she does not have enough ssa qualifying quarters . For her instead of I863W what for,s should be filled out? I864A or I864 with I864A?
Hello, currently I live with my wife in South Korea. She is Korean and I will be her sponsor. When we arrive in the US we will be getting support from my parents (my wife's father-in-law, mother-in-law). Since the immigrant (my wife) is only related by marriage and we have yet to live with them, would they be a joint sponsor or a household member?
Hi Ksenia, if the household member who will help out the beneficiary is a stepfather of the sponsor, what proof we can show for the proof of relationship of the sponsor? thank you
Hi Ksenia, Based on the form I-864A, Part 2, Item 1C, Is the stepfather considered parent as household member relationship to the sponsor to it will fall under "Other Dependent" and just have to specify, "Stepfather? Also, my issue is if sending parents marriage certificate and my spouse birth certificate would establish proof that he is my spouse' step dad? And one more question since my spouse don't have enough income his step dad is willing to sponsor. Is it just my spouse only completing the i-864 and his step dad completing the i-864a as they lives in the same house? And we do not need my spouse mother to fill out anything since she does not work. Would really appreciate if you can help me out on this matter. Thank you so much.
Great video. Just a quick question. I am the primary petitioner to my spouse. (i have filled the i-864) However we need a joint sponsor. (who has already filled the i-864) And this joint sponsor has a spouse who will also be combining income You said that if the joint sponsor has a spouse who will also be using their income than that spouse has to fill out the I-864A correct?
I am a US citizen, sponsoring my wife (living abroad) but I do not have enough income. My friend will be helping us. Q1) I am filling I-864, correct? Q2) He is filling I-864 and I-864A, correct? Q3) I and my friend are joint sponsors, correct? My friend is married and files taxes jointly with his wife. Does his wife need to fill anything? Thank you!
Thank you for your nice and informative explanation. I have a question about the police certification. My immigrant document is qualified on October 18, 2022. When I checked my ceac account it says the police certificate missing. I submitted the police certificate in march 2021. I don't know why they are asking again. My question is the line for interviews is too long in my county /Ethiopia/. May I wait until the interview letter send? Or to send the new police certification again. Because the police certificate expired each year. If they are not scheduled the interview again I have to submit the police certification a third time. I need your advice, please.
Hi Keseniya! I'm still pretty confused as to whether I must file the I-864A or not. My husband is petitioning for me (the intending immigrant) to get my green card. Unfortunately, he does not exceed the poverty guidelines by a hair, so I'd like to use my income to satisfy the financial requirement. So, must I submit a I-864A along with his I-864? For context, we recently filed our taxes jointly, I'm legally working in the US (I'm a DACA recipient), and he's petitioning for me only (I have no dependents). Please help!
Hi Kseniya They didn’t accepted my i864A and said me I have to add the name of the Household member as a Household Member under the sponsor We don’t understand it Where in I864a form I have to add it Thank you
Hello! I have a question. How to add a household member if the primary sponsor and the household member have the same name and last name? It will not let me add the household member, it says that a problem occured as i can not add 'the same person'. But it is not the same person! In this case, can I add the household member's documents under the primary sponsor's documents in the 'additional documents' section, explaining the situation?
I have a clarification. So as a petitioner who is unemployed do i have to fill out this form i-864a ? And the sponsor doesnt have to fill this form anymore right ? Thank you
Hello, This is a great video. I have questions. I'm petitioning for my mom but I am a home maker for 8years. Basically my husband is the only one who works. Which forms do I and my husband need to fill out? or is it just one form. Can you please advice.
Hi Kseniya, thanks so much for all the videos you have been sharing. I filled out the form I864A. I got this message from NVC last week, I don't understand it. I need your help. This is the message I found in my inbox. " Please add Mr X as a household member under Mr Y. all documents for Mr X should be submitted under their own name."
Hi Ksenia I love your videos , I’m going through a full adjustment for my parents and I would like to ask you some more questions about that. Is any other way to reach out to you? Please let me know if you can help me. I really appreciate. 🙏🙏
Hello the Embassy sent us an email about the things needed to be brought or uploaded to the ceac before the interview of my stepson my wife's son he is 12 years old my wife has been here for 4 years in the USA she really doesn't work since coming however we file joint taxes married filing jointly if we fill form I864A will it look right using this form with 0 income but our transcripts shows for both of us so my income is her income she's a stay at home mom raising our baby? Here I got the same message. I filled up the I 864 with household info & added the household member on the sponsor’s I 864 page 4 part 6 person 1 section. I still got the same message asking to that person as a household member under the sponsor. Very confused. Please help
@@sheenaanderson8759 I asked them via email. They said on the summary page there are buttons/boxes you can click “add a household member” add a joint sponsor” i think you have to click on these whatever applies to you & add documents under their names
My brother-in-law is an American citizen and applying for my sister.( married for 20 years and living outside of the US). He is retired and I have to be my sister's sponsor. Do I have to fill out I846 or I-847A? I live in the US and they live outside of the US and we do not live together. Please advise. If I have to fill out I847 does my brother-in-law need to fill that out too?
Hello, i am the petitioner ,my parents are co-sponsor who files taxes together. Filling out AOS for my husband. Do we all me , my both patents have to fill i864A? I files 864 for me and my dad and i got RFE.
I filed for my parents. Their paperwork is at NVC. I am aware that I need to do two separate DS-260 and two separate I-864. For my 2021 tax return I fall below and did not make enough 2022 and 2023 is above the poverty line. I live with my boyfriend and I am aware that I need to do an additional affidavit of support. Will my boyfriend be considered part of my household and do I need to fill out the form I-864A for him or do I include him on my I-864? Please help?
Hello, I live with my wife and 2 kids in the same house. I am a US citizen and I am applying for both mom and dad's Green Card. I have already paid for Affidavit of support fee and currently filling out I-864 ( affidavit of support documents and financial evidence). I primarily take care of my 2 kids, hence I only make around 3k per year. However my wife makes enough to sponsor both my parents. So, my questions are: I am the main sponsor/petitioner so I have to file I-864 FORM for both mom and dad even though I don't make enough money right ? I have to add my wife as Household Member and fill out I-864A form for both my mom and dad right ? Do I need to fill out any other forms or provide other documents? PLEASE LMK If someone else have gone through similar situation in the past or present, I currently am, please provide some info. Thanks a bunch.

Hello! Thank you for the info 🙏🏻🙏🏻tell me please if my boyfriend doesn’t fill the taxes with me but we live in the same house! Can he be the householder or he has to file I864 separately like sponsor for my parents? Thank you very much for your help
Hi! We have applied for a Green card for my parents through my sister. She currently (2023) doesn't have any income so, I (her brother) became a joint sponsor, but at the same time, she is filing a tax return as married file joint, so, I guess, by default she is using her husband's income as well. Long story short, I became a joint sponsor and her husband became a household member so we have submitted both I864 and I864a. However, nvc has accepted everything and just rejected the I864a without any explanation. My question is, can a case has two different type of sponsors? Like what my sister did? a Joint sposer and a household member? Thanks for the help
I do not work and I'm the petitioner for my husband...My son and his Fiancee are living with me...They are not my dependents..Can they both fill out the I-864A as household members?
Hi Kseniya i filed tax jointly with my wife but her work contract ended in Feb of this year, do i need to include her as a sponsor if my income is fine Or i can use myself as the only sponsor and submit our joint tax return which shows total income of both of us?
HELLO thanks for all your videos. I'm confused, do I have to file l-864A AND I-864? OR JUST I-864A? my husband and I filled taxes together and Im doing this for my mom, because I don't make enough money im going to include him

Hello,I have a question. I am a naturalized US citizen and I want to sponsor my parents to the US. My question is I haven't worked ever since i came to the US. I am dependent on my husband. Can my husband co-sponsor my parents to USA? And what documents he needs to fill to help in sponsorship for my parents.
My question is I have sponsored my sister and her family this year 2022 is f15 yrs I got a message starting refill the I-864 from and submitted 2018 tax return transcript. Do I use 2021 tax return info on the form? Thanks for your help!
Hi Kseniya! I have a question. My husband (principal immigrant) does not meet the minimum income requirements to support me (spouse beneficiary) and his mom who’s living in the same address will be the household member who will combine their income. Does his mom also needs to fill out a separate I-864? or just the I-864A? Thank you so much I hope I will get a response soon.
Hi Kseniya! Thanks for all the videos, they have been super helpful to me. Around minute 8:50 you mention that if you are the intending immigrant and are not bringing other family members with you, that you don't have to file i-864A. So what documentation do we have to provide in order to help in additional income to the what the sponsor is already bringing?
You have to put yourself in part 6 question 8 and also add your income to the total household income in question 20. In addition, you have to provide all the same financial proof as the sponsor. Taxes, W2, pay stubs, employment verification letter etc. As a household member you’re required to live with the petitioner and earn income in the US.
I'd like to add a question to this thread, if the intending immigrant hasn't filed taxes due to F1 status & 1st year in opt, how do you show taxes? It's just Pay stubs that are required in this case?
If the co-sponsor is my father and he is married to my mother who filed taxes jointly will my mother have to fill out form l-864a as well, or can it just be my father?
This is so helpful! You’re more thorough and detailed than any other immigration expert/attorney! Thank you so much so much!!

thank for your videos , very educated. i have a question , if i am married does my husband has to do form 864a? i am petitioning my parents. but he is not resident yet, but we do married filling joinly taxes .
Hello! Thank you for your video. I just wanted to clarify that it is okay to leave sections that don’t apply blank? Is this okay?
Hi, I love your videos and its helping me through this process of applying for Adjustment of Status through marriage based greencard.
My wife’s last year income isn’t enough to sponsor me so we got her Dad to be the joint sponsor. My lawyer wants my mother-in-law to fill up the i864A. Does it make sense for my mother-in-law to fill up the I864A when me and my wife live together and not with her parents.
yes it's a normal practice for a lot of lawyers. especially if they file taxes jointly. your MIL is your FIL's household member, not yours.
@@KseniyaInternational Thank you so much, this clarifies a lot of my questions.
I am actually on this process as this point . My husband had his appt and they informed my income is not sufficient. Me and his mom do live together so can I do the i864a household member ?
Hey what if the joint sponsor filed taxes with their spouse. Does the spouse need to submit there financial information as well ?
Good question !!! Can we have an answer to this question please !!?
If Wife makes 0 income but file Taxes together with husband. Husband can take full responsibility of wife’s parents and fill the I-864 as joint Sponsor or he needs to do the I-864A ?
Did you find any response?
Hi Kseniya, thanks for really informative page and videos. I have a question regarding HHM I-864A. NVC asked me to add my spouse (intending immigrant) as a HHM and asking file I-864A under her name. But in this vide you mentioned that (part 2, 1a) if my spouse is intending immigrant then we do not need file that form. What need to do then, filing or not and if not what form or supporting letter we need to send or respond for them I-864A request. Thank you. Best regards, Elchin
Hi Elchin! I’m in your exact same scenario, what did you ended up doing?
Your video help me a lot to complete the form 864 A as a Household member but I got rejected my husband 864 A and I has to submit as a joint sponsor but all the form are only Household member.
Any idea or help from you why they keeps rejecting my sign and date in form i-864a part 5 i am the petitioner.
Very useful video👍🏼 Thank you so much and God bless🙏🏼
(i have filled the i-864)
However we need a joint sponsor. (who has already filled the i-864)
And this joint sponsor has a spouse who will also be combining income
You said that if the joint sponsor has a spouse who will also be using their income than that spouse has to fill out the I-864A correct?
Yes
I am a US citizen, sponsoring my wife (living abroad) but I do not have enough income. My friend will be helping us.
Q1) I am filling I-864, correct?
Q2) He is filling I-864 and I-864A, correct?
Q3) I and my friend are joint sponsors, correct? My friend is married and files taxes jointly with his wife. Does his wife need to fill anything?
Thank you!
In section 4 numbers 2a thru c, is that income of spouse of sponsor or total household income which includes both sponsor and spouse household income?
Read question 22 on page 5!
Hi Kseniya
They didn’t accepted my i864A and said me I have to add the name of the Household member as a Household Member under the sponsor
We don’t understand it
Where in I864a form I have to add it
Thank you
Great video! Where do I send this form to?
I am a joint financial sponsor can I pull out from this? Being a joint sponsor? There is a primary but didn't meet financial support already
hello, will the household member need to be present at the interview or just the spouse/sponsor of the petitioner?
God bless you it’s really really helping, Saved time big Attorny fee God bless you
I have a clarification.
I am the petitioner and my income meets the requirement. Is the household member still required to fill I864A?
Hi Kseniya, thanks so much for all the videos you have been sharing. I filled out the form I864A. I got this message from NVC last week, I don't understand it. I need your help. This is the message I found in my inbox. " Please add Mr X as a household member under Mr Y. all documents for Mr X should be submitted under their own name."
It means you have to create a household member on your CEAC portal and upload those documents there.
@@KseniyaInternational Thank you so much!
if the person you are sponsoring has a work permit already
can you add them as part of the sponsor?
Someone has told me that the Embassy may want this to see that your wife is on board with the son coming to the US.
hi!I filled out the I-864A for my husband as the other sponsor but i got a message saying that my documents is invalid because it wasnt submitted under household members.I'm not sure how was it because I believed i wrote my husband's name in part 1 so how did it went wrong.which part has the correction? Please help me and thank you for this video.
Hi I filled my parents and I got same answer. What you reply them?
Here I got the same message. I filled up the I 864 with household info & added the household member on the sponsor’s I 864 page 4 part 6 person 1 section. I still got the same message asking to that person as a household member under the sponsor. Very confused. Please help
Same here thing
@@sheenaanderson8759 I asked them via email. They said on the summary page there are buttons/boxes you can click “add a household member” add a joint sponsor” i think you have to click on these whatever applies to you & add documents under their names
So the signature in part 5 wouldn't be Jane Doe the spouse but John Doe the Co-Sponsor right ?
Thank you so much very clear and helpful 👍
My brother-in-law is an American citizen and applying for my sister.( married for 20 years and living outside of the US). He is retired and I have to be my sister's sponsor. I live with my boyfriend and I am aware that I need to do an additional affidavit of support. Will my boyfriend be considered part of my household and do I need to fill out the form I-864A for him or do I include him on my I-864? Please help?

What if I meet the income poverty guidelines to sponsor my parents, do I still need to include my husband as a household and file I864A?
Hello,
I live with my wife and 2 kids in the same house. So, my questions are:
I am the main sponsor/petitioner so I have to file I-864 FORM for both mom and dad even though I don't make enough money right ?
I have to add my wife as Household Member and fill out I-864A form for both my mom and dad right ?
Do I need to fill out any other forms or provide other documents? PLEASE LMK
If someone else have gone through similar situation in the past or present, I currently am, please provide some info. Thanks a bunch.

In the part 5 where the sponsor should sing, its not a black space as the others areas. Do I sing after the word signature?

Household members fill out I-864A.
@@KseniyaInternational Thank you! Is his mom considers a joint sponsor or a household member?
