- The Shia-Sunni Alliance Forum (SSAF) held a solidarity gathering for the New Mexico community at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Sterling Branch on August 15th, 2022. In their remarks to the attendees, Imam Mohamed Magid, Executive Imam for ADAMS Center and Sayyid M. B. Kashmiri, Jurist Representative at I.M.A.M. expressed the need for #Muslim unity and action to ensure that such tragic incidents do not happen again.

The Prophet (ﷺ) stood up and delivered a sermon, and pointing to `AISHA’S house (i.e. eastwards), he said thrice, "Affliction (will appear from) here," and, "from where the side of the Satan's head comes out (i.e. from the East).

The prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) Never prayed on a turba or this stone nor did the sahabas. Allah has completed Islam and shias come after 100 years and add something to it and then say this is how you pray. May Allah guide Shias

Because Prophet Mohammad said: “And the earth has been made for me a mosque and a purifier” prophet Mohammad said that when the Muslim Armies reached a new area and they were lost whether they can pray here or not, this saying has two parts, it hints that you can prostrate on the ground “Earth”, and, the ground can be a purifier, for example, at least in our Shia teachings for hygiene, if a dog eats from a bowl, and you want to use it once again, you have to throw sand on the bowl, dip it completely in sand then you have to spray water on it to clean it and its the only way.
Back to the rock or as we call it the turbah we prostrate on, these rocks are made from the earth, usually sand or Dirt and then are formed into a shape and dried out, here is how they look usually

In the time of the Holy Prophet, modt iron came from meteors. Actually, I am not sure if the iron we mine today also comes from meteors, but has been buried by being on the earth for a long time. The iron core is an exception, the iron we mine is what's important.
Spiritual meaning of turbah:
put head on turbah first time symbolises how we came from earth, rising from sujood symbolises how Adam rose from earth. Second sajda represents death, and rising the second time represents the day of judgement.

because the face is the most noble part of the human body, therefore by putting our faces to the ground, it is a form of our willingness and sincerity as humans to be willing to humble ourselves before the Most High.
@@SangajiSarkoro if the hadith says that The Prophet (pbuh) prostrated on mud and water and that his forehead had a bit of mud on it, then doesn't that mean we should prostrate directly on to mud instead of using the turbah because with a turbah, you don't see any marks of mud on your forehead
@mikedaud9225 Use a bit of Logic. The hadiths mentioned in ur own books, bukhari stated that the earth is for my prostration. The narration about the prophet having mud on his forehead is mentioned in sahih bukhari and Mud is earth such as other things like Dust. Our turbah can make you have a Mud on your forehead, but the most important thing is the Sunni and Shia books narrated that the Prophet prostrated on Earth.

Turbah is the business of iran . Mohammad SAW never said Prayers will be invalid if you don't pray on the soil of karbala. Allah guide them and us the right path and save us from those who made Islam business.

Also this from a Sunni book: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The earth has been made for me a place of prostration and a means of purification, so wherever a man of my Ummah is when the time for prayer comes, let him pray.'" Any turbah is okay for prayer, even if made from the soil of Las Vegas, Hollywood, London, or Tokyo.
Karbala turbah is used because it's extra special. It's recommended, like having perfume on in prayer.

Making something up and claiming it to be part of Islam is Shirk. you can pray on soil for extra rewards because prophet Muhammad SAW did it and keep in mind it is a sunnah which means you should if you can. Performing complete namaz on Soil and putting head on turbah is completely different thing.
