Also it was a nice meeting you at Lima Peru. This is Yang bro dad. Enjoyed your commentary for Jonathan's final. It was a greatest moment for all Yang family with your voice. 👍
I feel like kosoto gari/gake is such underlooked technique. Almost every exchange with common systems end up in an opportunity for it. Especially situations where you don't have room between the legs to go for ouchi gari, it usually means kosoto gari is open. And like demonstrated with those hip blocks. Like even righties occasionally end up in that position, maybe due to their lack of awareness and proper movement or just by their system. And for some reason the dojos don't really teach it much compared to other techniques, even though it fits so well in different systems. I guess the same with eri seoi nage, you often find yourself in that situation where eri seoi nage would solve the gripping challenge you face. I suppose it's technically just seoi nage from a different grip but you still need to practice the variations to make them efficient and effective.
You are absolutely right, Sensei Shintaro. Thank you for mentioning Rocket man 🚀 Jonathan Yang. Love your youtube always. 😍🫡
