Was born in Bev , but grew up from a baby in Hull. Left four decades back, but that time till i was 21, were the happiest days of my life i reckon. Hull has changed too much since...didn't recognise half of it when i went back five years ago.
Back in the day used to regularly drink at The White Hart and the Black Boy in the old part of town.

Just modern pubs?
I’d love to see pictures of The Sportsman from about 60 years ago (my Mum was about 4-5 then and my grandparents went there) and The Swallow from the 80s I was a kid and used to watch my Granddad go from our bedroom windows.
We passed the sportsman as part of my Granddad’s funeral procession.
How sad.
A long tradition reduced to gentrification and hipster posturing.
atom beers. overpriced and mainly not much better than home-brew.
