Robert Creeley, one of the most influential American poets of his generation, launched the Black Mountain poetry movement with Charles Olson. He has said, "I write when no other act is possible." RC's subject matter to me is mostly RC's interior experience, his emotional expereince as opposed to a more objective poem recording what goes on in the world explored interactive outside in nature on a hike.
