    Spectacular! I am soooo glad I found you! I appreciate not only your work, but also you sharing your knowledge and expertise. You do an excellent job of explaining what you are doing in layman's terms, and the voice-over is my favorite; no ums and ahs, no background noises, no pets or kids running across the screen, and last but definitely not least...no obnoxious music! Thank you! Thank you! 😊💖

    You are almost at my level of art and portraiture. Keep plugging away and you'll get there. Just kidding. I was in awe watching you with seeming ease take a piece of wood and turn it in to a piece of art worthy of anyone's wall space. For X-mas I bought some large wooden spoons from a local artist that had different images burned into the back that I was quite impressed by. That is probably the reason I'm even watching your video. The fact you are sharing is to be commended and any one watching will agree your an artist. I'll be back. lol

    I've watched this video several times now and I love your work, I've used alot of your techniques and worked them in with my own to a point where I'm really quite happy with the portraits that I do now, I don't know why I haven't like this video before, so I've done it today, I really enjoy your videos thanks for sharing your knowledge with us

    You did great work. The loving thing is that you are so dedicated and specialised to this. Another funny thing is that Minisa means 'man' in our native language. 😄You aren't Minisa but a great woman.

    Hi Minisa your pyrography work is amazing. Could it be done on pine wood? I've been making clocks but all my work is pretty solid dark Lines. I've been asked to do a portrait and not sure if I can pull it off on pine wood.

    I love to see your work, it's amazing and so finely detailed. You make it look so easy.
    There is a question that I have regarding equipment. I use an Optima unit but finding that the pens are getting too hot. I've tried purchasing some heat resistant gloves but every pair I've bought are either usually too bulky and look more like welding gloves or, not heat resistant enough. I notice that you have a blue glove that you appear to have worn from the outset, which i'm guessing means they're perfect for protection - where did you buy them and are they available in the UK? or do you have any other recommendations?
    Thanks Minisa and keep up the amazing work 😊

    • @BobSmith-br8om
      @BobSmith-br8om 4 роки тому

      Most of the heat is going to come into the pen on the first 1/4" (6.35mm) of the pen body. If you move your hand, or the foam grip back that much from the end, you should get a lot less heat on your hand.
      Obviously, if you are burning red hot (above 5) on the dial, you are going to get a hot handle anyways (thou shalt not break the laws of thermal dynamics ;-)...

      I use (2pack Solid Natural Cork Bungs to Fit Demijohn Bottle Winemaking Homebrew glass bottles @ 46mm/55mm) you can buy them on eBay for just a few pounds. Carefully drill a hole in the middle then File the hole till its just big enough to put your Burning Pen through with a tight push through fit and there you have a Heat protective grip.
      I`ve been using them for 5 yrs now and never feel any heat through the Cork.In fact the two I bought 5 yrs ago I`m still using 👍

      @@tommytitmouse Thanks Tom, a nice tip there and I'll definitely give that a try 👍

    • @tommytitmouse

      @@pyrographypete6640 At first it might feel a little "big" to hold but you will get used to the thickness. Other than that you could always trim it down to your comfort feel, but I left mine at its normal thickness of the bung, and as I said I`ve been using the same Cork bung for over 5 yrs now and it feels normal to me using it .

      @DanLaTour12 Рік тому

      With respect, every person has their own style of production, some are better at figuring out their strong points and work on those to create what they do. Art isn't perfect. Wood burning takes years of practice it just doesn't fall out of you like drawing with pencil. She said there's no way you can erase your mistakes in this video which isn't necessarily true. I erase mistakes. I also try and intentionally not make them. She says she starts with the eyes, where as those are one of the last things I work on. There are no lines only edges is what I live by when I burn. I also burn from outside in not the inside out. I do background first to set the tone for the main part of my work. My style isn't hers either, I tend to not do portraits in my work but when I do I do my best, not her best or I would never get it. Burn comfortably not intentionally. Steal what you can from others techniques and make then your own. you can't learn portraits from a video either no matter what. Hope this helps and remember, you do you, not someone else. Have great journey.
