Top tip, only do two strips of mortar for those trench blocks, making a full bed like that makes it hell to get them down, thats how us brickies do it. Back breakers arnt they?
As i said to my mum when i was extending a bit of her raised patio ( don't ask, but blame my dad), "it doesn't have to be perfect if it looks ok and works.".
The last vid. i watched(the concrete pour) i thought you were gonna lose the plot. Good to see that didn't happen. Onwards and upwards. three steps forward and 1 step back. Ground work is a nightmare. I day at a time. Later 👍
Take the loader/dumper off and use it as a decorative commemorative plant-pot, because that is the part that really gave HumptyDumpty its name, remove the wheels to sell, turn the rest in for scrap.
It would be worth trying to pick up a knackered wheel and tyre for the dumper, you might even be able to find someone in need of the tyre willing to swap theirs as a PX. Anything to minimise your losses. It was a pretty tired old dumper to be fair, that's the problem with this kind of machinery people only sell them when they are getting to the end of their lives.
@finditfixitfarmit channel has a 6t dumper that will be for sale once theyve been through it, dont know what price they will be asking but could be worth a look?
Do you watch tunnel Dave Tim? I think he put a land rover engine in his dumper when the engine blew didn’t look massively difficult. Maybe Reach out for advice from from him
Not meaning to sound rude but the bond does seem to be a little bit out out in places, even very experienced bricklayers do dry lay in these situations. Hopefully the fact you have good ground and steels too means it is not critical in this instance. Seen another brickie use these blocks and his were spot on, really crisp and a perfect fit. But perhaps his were more expensive? He was dry locking them and just lightly dressing the hole at the top which remained open. Like the other poster said he was doing two light strips on the bed plus a dab in the middle, about 50% muck less I would say.
Seen these lobbed down any old way your blocks on top will put the blocks to rights, generally used as first course into footings cause you dont see em ..
I personally hate trench blow, I have no idea how something as soft and clumsily is allowed in the bases carrying so much weight, personally concrete block all the way

OMG you look knackered! Well done on the progress no matter what the issues. I am amazed at your fortitude !
Why did the chicken stand in the concrete? It was the dog's day off.
What are the blue thermos for never seen that before
Loving the build
Tunnel Dave on UA-cam fixes his old dumper often. Maybe he could help?
Cool 😎
turn the dumper into a planter.. keep it on the farm.. he's part of it now
You need a diesel compactor Tim , your tickling it with the petrol one . A forward reverse one , they are so powerful and fast
I've thought of laying a large area of concrete in my back garden... but you've put me right off now Tim 😅😅

Do an engine rebuild on Humpty Dumpty in your SPARE TIME 😂 It would make interesting content and stop you getting bored 😉
Spare time, that's a good one 😂
Loving this series. Amazing how quickly things are developing.
You're going to be a concrete expert after this build 😂
It's coming along well, doing a great job
Not a bricklayers , but very good diy'ers😂

It’s thermalite blocks in general they’re horrible nowadays, I think the moulds are shot! Give me ytong or Celcon any day!
15:40 I'll give that cup of tea a miss.

Sell the wheels and tryes on the basis of a swap for the buyers' old ones, then the dumper keeps rolling.
Woohoo…….the olympics are nearly here ! 😂😂😂😂

Yeah will be buried by next week so not too worried just seemed very odd design.
Yeah dont think they ate uniform great job.
Good laying for non brickies but don’t go into cake decorating 😅
Are the trench blocks all the same way up ?
Yeah as the tongue is only in the lower section and hand holds at top. Pretty sure I tried every way. 😬
there are ‘retarder additives’ that can be used to slow concrete setting, are you not requesting them in your mixes?
Find another engine 4 Humpty Dumpty

Did that chicken lay an egg in the concrete?
Those blocks are a 1000 piece puzzle.
There's only one way they properly fit together.
Fake it until you make it! So long as you look in to the camera & speak confidently, people will believe you....
😂
This was to much for only four hands. You were at least two man short.
