- tower defense simulator is a good game, but it has some really bad balances and it makes it unfun to play or unfair to play sometimes. some towers are not good and are actually worse to use, or some are just not what they should be. credits to phoqus for the tds music

Those problems are also a part of the reason why people prefer older versions of TDS instead of current one. Almost none of reasons in the video were present in older versions (except for map difficulty thing)

I hope they re-add the hidden wave effects in the future, having that cutsecen before it and all the interfaces going crazy really made it unique, then the overhaul dropped and all of those effect said "adios"

It never cleanses stuns. It got broken at the Frost event
My idea on how to fix medic is for her ability to instead give stun resistance for a few seconds. You don’t need to cleanse if you can make towers not get stunned for like 3-5 secs. Or maybe give towers a passive buff to stun recovery so all towers in her range recover from stuns faster.
I still remember playing TDS in the summer of 2019. I used to solo the winter map with the same strategy, over and over. I stopped playing after the commando event just because the game got extremely stale and boring. I still remember crook being absolutely essential, I remember getting gladiator just by constantly freezing the boss. I don't even know what happend to this game, but when I checked and saw they merked all of the emotes by switching to R15 I was like "nope, this game isn't worth my time". It's really not what it used to be.
As someone 8 months later responding later, it’s worse. They gave the towers custom faces and it looks so bad
I remember freezer so good in gladiator event plus with john tower it so good
I feel like in tds there is two categories of towers: either used or just outright forgotten

One of few thing I hate about Bellow is he keep trying to made the game harder. Like we rarely see him buff any tower but instantly nerf tower that can change the meta, and even when he buff something is just to made it difficult. I swear hard mode could be fun to play but he had to made it harder because “a lot” people beating it, now to beat it you have to use the same meta over and over again with the same people, it get bore real quick and after getting Accelerator most people just abandon it and move to other stuff.

I'm getting bored of using the same strategy to triumph a game mode. It gets boring overtime when you want to grind for lets say, a golden crate. After all the hard work of grinding, you get a golden soldier or pyromancer and then you stop playing the game. If they want to make the game ACTUALLY fair and fun, they need to buff many of the towers such as the ones listed, the freezer, mortar, rocketeer, medic and militant. Otherwise the game would be stuck with the same strategy and tactics which it boring as hell. Along that, most of the event towers are rendered useless after the hardcore update. The commando is practically not worth using, the shredder does little to no damage and the archer.....

there is also another problem with tds that i would like to add. it's that once you've beat hidden wave, and hardcore and you are level 100+ there's not much to do in the game except wait for updates or just grind like crazy.
the only buff after level 100 is base health

I feel like that TDS was more balanced and fun to play back before the hardcore update. Like Medic was a balanced, when you open crates you are not gambling and you don't get duplicates, and John/Militant was viable. Though they should also add the changes that john added in the video.
If they can't buff the towers they nerfed, they should just bring back the older versions of the towers because they are already optimized for their own class power and everyone else would agree
I don’t know why, but it makes me sad how a rov mod loves John, but a tds mod or dev doesn’t love him. And rov actually does stuff that John wants in the game like the bows, and tds doesn’t care.

Making freezer have the ability to permanently slow down zombies after freezing feels like an overbuff. People would quit using toxic gunner because that buff is what the old toxic gunner was before the patch.
if they actually made toxic gunner slow down big bosses you would have a choice, the idea is all towers should be usuable in some way and not outclassed like you could pick a random loadout and win the hardest gamemode with strategic thinking still but atleast the towers are actually useful.
I chuckled to myself when you said hidden wave had a lot of thought put into the enemies and it was super new
The golden crate to make it fair should:
For pyro: make him slow enemies instead of making them faster (by Idk 25%?), should give him faster burn damage and you know what? Keep the range.
And for soldier: make his bursts faster and give him even more bursts then it already does
I feel like for Soldier it really just makes sense to just make him fully automatic, But only on one of the last upgrades. Since, You know, Assault Rifle?
Hey John, I like how you spend a lot of time editing your videos. It’s less then every five seconds or less when an edit approaches. Also- I agree with your tower, hidden wave, golden crate, and map hates. Your videos honestly inspired me to play TDS. I couldn’t of done it without you.

i feel like the towers dont have enough abilitys, so the devs could possibly add something like an airstrike ability on the ace pilot, or just any abilitys that could actually make different strategys. another concern is that after you play a bit you get bored, so the game could add like daily challenges that modify the normal game, so like zombies have 50% more speed but you get 25% more cash. those are just some ideas, but they could maybe be added to TDS.
Tower leveling system like 5 games won with minigunner lvl up become like 4% cheaper and shoots 0.1 more bullets
And yes for sure we need more abilitys imagine a actual dps ability I can't think of one there's medic and commander that's all I can remember lol
2 Years later most of these issues have been fixed. Golden Crate RNG was fixed by Daily Store (which can have Golden Skins), Golden Perks (Use any skin with golden buff), mortar and rocketeer buff, maps give more rewards based on difficulty. Only turret didnt get changed sadly
Turret did get changed it got buffed . it was almost better than accel before the rework

Yea can definitely feel how the game can get very repetitive, since so many towers are pretty useless compared to the meta ones.

Thing tds need in my opinion is more Devs, bc they are struggling to make events in time, fix bugs and much more.

Unfair for me who actually won the gladiator event and lost that account, I couldn’t get it back bc I didn’t put my email on it. I couldn’t get the gamepass bc of how broke I am. I lost my life bc of that.

I’m actually okay with turret. I can understand it’s placing limit is kinda dogwater, but for me, Turret is a A rank tower. But the reason why I think turret placement limit is bad is because turret acts like a boost, a buff to your towers. Cause if it had no place limit, it would be too op in my opinion.
Yeah, I agree on this. To improve freezer allow it to not freeze bosses but at least slow them slightly? Maybe apply a brittle effect where enemies that are frozen take more damage? For Pyro allow it to do more damage and still keep its extra damage to burning enemies yet also not speed up enemies anymore. To solve the issue of bth of them being used at once just have them cancel each other’s effects out but allow them to do extra damage to enemies that have both effects. Think about it, if you were in the harsh winter then set on fire it would hurt more right? If you were on fire and dropped into a freezing river it would hurt more right? For turrets increase the damage or the limit. For mortars and rocketeers, just buff everything except range. For Medic prevent them from being stunned, if they are stunned then they can’t un-stun other towers until they themselves are no longer stunned which by the time they are no longer stunned all the other towers will to. Maybe another improvement can be to allow close by towers to recover faster from stuns than they normally would otherwise and maybe Medic’s ability could give towers stun protection for a few seconds? This would allow you to use her ability paw intended, if towers get a stun resistance for a few seconds instead of cleansing towers that are stunned this can prevent the issue of medic being stunned too. These are just some of my ideas for improvements to towers.

4:57 I dont agree cuz you can solo molten with 5 max turret's,without ranger support it just needs commander chain and a max dj and if the tower limit was removed you would be able to solo fallen mode with turret spam.

I beat normal mode with GS but it took 23 MINUTES not worth it.

I personally agree with all of these, especially goldens. I spent like 2 months non stop grinding for my 1st gold. It took so much effort, and the game gave me golden pyro. Like seriously, Some people grind SO LONG and all they get are trash golds.

Another problem I have for turret is it doesn't get hidden detection until level 3 which costs like over 10k
Some towers just got killed over the years and it's so boring and annoying.
Looking back at this in 2023, the only thing that hasn't been fixed is the turret placement and the rocketeer. Pretty cool, but now tds has different problems
also anyone else notice war machine is just a better commando +passive damage buff to other towers -aimbot missles +tons of dps -cheaper placement price +probably cheaper overall
Also remember when you in wave 30-35 some guy wants to leave and he put farms in save zone! That's really make someone and me mad!
It's annoying when players tell you to sell their towers
John, if youre still doing trollings in tds, then i have one, equip mecha base, then equip like starter towers, like soldier, sniper, scout, minogunner, etc. And then, like in wave 20, place a mecha base and pretend its a mili base, and meanwhile the players freaking out about the mecha base, you just chillin there.

but slowing enemies with pyro doesnt make sense. speeding up enemies is a real way but removing the increase speed is okay.

10 months and only golden towers have been fixed I remember back when cowboy was released for end of the line you would be in game for almost an hour due to how the difficulty waves worked but you would actually gain over a thousand coins since it was longer
war machine could be the reward for hidden wave, or discount war machine could be used as dps and dmg boost support

turret is bassicly ranger just constant fire and since it has a dps of 125 and ranger does 300 dmg per 3 seconds it means that turret can outperform ranger in some cases or even accel so the placement limit does make sense since 525 dps is alot but if the placement limit was like 15 or 20 it would probably be the second or first most op tower
I really hope commando gets a buff soon because it’s a OG event tower and it’s really hard to get.

they dont give more money to beat insane maps cuz when u get good, its so ez to farm coins, like theres only a 9 sec difference, but for like 300 more coins... wow
imo, the game is NOT friendly to new players, just started playing again after like 8 months and from what i see, the game is really just hard to start out in.
being able to place at least 7 or 8 turrets is already good enough for me
I’m glad that (most of) these problems have been fixed
I got golden pyro once, but it was when pyro was good. However, some sort of data saving problem happened and a few of my towers, all my skins, and stuff like that got lost. And it feels like it is so hard to grind for a golden create now, that I might pay with robux.
It makes sense that zombies go faster when pyro burns because, who doesnt scream and run around if your on fire
I think he forgot that we you got a golden skins and the worst part is you can't use your favorite skins. Like come on its a waste of skin if you don't use it.
