This is 110% true. Don’t be afraid to get dirty and fix the problem if you have the tools to do it. Not to mention the plethora of UA-cam videos out there kn how to fix said problem 😂
The reason I’m watching this is because of the countless bike maintenance videos I’ve watched with you guys and thus has given me tons of confidence to wrench on my bikes , families bikes and friends bikes . I’ve gained the confidence and experience to even help strangers with mechanicals out of the trails . Keep up the good work 🙏🏼. Also remember, over confidence can burn you too . Cheers .
I think the wise interjections, MmHmm, was very confidence inspiring! But really, I completely agree. You build confidence to do way more over time just a little bit at a time
After riding BMX my whole life and recently getting a DH bike, there's a bunch of new tools I'm having to buy and new stuff to learn about working on. Definitely learn to work on your own bike 👍🏻
that’s how I learned to fix computers, I destroyed parts and understood what to do to avoid it, every time I fixed a thing on mine I knew what could be the issue on some else’s pc, well, same thing for every thing you try and fix, fastest way to learn is to break something and then to try and fix it
Yes! While it’s helpful to have the perfect tool, there is much to be learned through improvisation. This often forces one to more closely examine the problem and think things through instead of merely “doing”.
I built a new bike at my job, mechanical disc brakes with the dual shimano brake/shifters, i squeeze the brake, *pow* the plastix lockring forthe barrel adjuster exploded 😂 luckily there was an extra off an old one i could replace it with
