There are many places across the country where these Sufi Saints have preached peace and brotherhood. Among them was the famous Sufi Hazrat Syed Shah Raju Mohammed al- Hussiani Qattal (RA) is well known and Famous as Hazrat Syed Shah Yousuf al Hussiani and his title is known as Qattal and his shrine is situated at Hyderabad district of Telangana. He is also popularly known as Shah Raju Qattal Hussiani.He is connected with Hazrat Khaja Bande Nawaz Gesu Daraz of Gulbarga (in Karnataka) in 8th generation. He was born in the year 1002 A.H. in Bijapur city.When he was growing up, he completed the stages of zaheri (outside) and Batini (inside) education under the supervision of his uncle Hazrat Syed Akbar Mohammed al Hussain and upon completion of the above education his uncle after his bait (pledging spiritual allegiance) awarded him caliphate.He was a pious saint in the Deccan (South Deccan) region and due to his miracles and knowledge of Allah; he has a connection with Khaja Bande Nawaz of Gulbarga in the 8th generation. Hazrat Shah Raju Qattal was the teacher of Abul Hassan Qutb Shah, the eighth and last ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, sovereign of the kingdom of Golconda in South India.Abul Hassan had a good voice and sang well. He also had a certain innocence about him. Shah Raju, therefore, gave him the nickname of `Tana Shah' which means a child saint.Since ages, the Sufi Saints like Hazrat Syed Shah Raju Mohammed have propagated the message of spiritualism and harmony in our country and their teachings are still playing a significant role in strengthening the thread of secularism.(NK)
