I’ve stripped the b9 sq5 out already. Rear seats and front seats, added a Kirkey seat. 300 pounds weight reduction. Insanely heavy heats. There’s more to be had Adam😯 I drove my B8.5 S4 stripped out with a Kirkey seat everywhere. LOL daily driver.
Great video! I have a S5 B9 and there is a cable on the side of the seats for the release lever. Any ideas how to remove/release the cable? It looks like it goes to the interior trim panel
Sadly I don't. If you reach out to Jeremy from It's Pronounced Va-Guh he has a B9 S5 and would be able to help. I helped him remove his seats for the first time and he was unsure of how to release it too. He figured it out though.
@@RickyPolarz Yes, save yourself alot of grief and remove the rear side trim. Then you can access the bowden cable connector. There is a plastic cover, pop it off and release the cable
yo i’m wondering if u ever found out how to trip the airbag to thinking it’s plugged in. i’m trying to do weight reduction on my b8 s4 but the rear seats have the air bag plug and it puts a airbag light on the dash
Hey, nice video. I’ve removed the rear seats on my last trip to the drag race but haven’t removed the passenger seat yet. Were able to clear the airbag fault code? Did you use OBDeleven and was it a pain to clear? Appreciate your feedback as I am trying to go to the drag strip on Saturday and try it out. Thanks
Brakes are here: ua-cam.com/video/kzsrLUsWtjo/v-deo.html Wheels I'm honestly not sure because I never weighed my OEM wheels and tires. I do know that the weight savings was significant though.
Can you imagine how quick would be an Audi A4 with all those lightweight solutions (even though I'd skip some on the rear of the car for sake of weight distribution) + 4.0TFSI V8 engine swap + the stage 4 that introduced recently on the RS7 (search RS7 stage 4 1260 hp) ? The heavy RS7 already did 0-125mph in 6.2 seconds, on the 800-900 lbs lighter A4, that would be just crazy!
Hey there been watching your videos for probably a year now. I have my Mustang for my drag car, but considering selling my MK7.5 GTI for a B9 S5 Sportback. Seeing you’ve done a lot with Audi’s, as a daily driver would you recommend the B9 Platform?
Not sure if this has been answered yet but my RS5's seat bolts are a 10mm triple square. The rear bolt closest to the console however required a shorter neck because of low clearance between the seat. even with the seat all the way forward there isn't much space. I have to use an adjustable wrench on the neck since it is (at the point) a 6-point. Trying to get a wrench on the socket doesn't work. With everything removed I have about 190 Lbs of weight reduction.
Not only does the seat have to be all the way forward, you also need to raise the seat. It will creep forward and up slightly, allowing a tool to fit in there.
My s5 sportback trunk rattles a lot and that plastic piece that hold the Jack and other tools is a source of it, you said it’s practically built into the car, is there a way to remove it so I can fix the rattling? Thanks!
Hi, I wanted to remove the rear seat, but there is a cable connected to the backrest, do you know how to disconnect it. Also, my rear seat doesn't have any functions. Why would there be a cable anyway lol
@@VancityAudi The rear seats aren't heated, I have no idea why there is a cable. I was looking for some kind of plug but I couldn't find anything, I don't know how to pull it out. Its just a single black cable going into it.
Hi Adam, what is the difference in time 0-60 and 1/4 between light/heavy wheels and after body lightening before/after? I weighed my audi a6c7 and it turned out that it weighs 1770 kg with 20 liters of gasoline and on 20 "wheels (the weight of each is 27 kg). I figured that I could also lighten the body by about 100 kg and for the next season I will put 18" wheels, the weight of the wheels will be about 21 kg. What do you think about the increase of 1/4 can be counted on? at the moment I'm driving 0-60 3.72 and 1/4 11.9
When you're running the maximum amount of boost you can on the available hybrid turbos on the market, some need to go for an extra few modifications to go quicker and faster.

First comment from Namibia!! Africa!! weight reduction on the b9
Thanks for the video! This'll help a bunch of people with weight reduction.
Thanks for explaining so clearly

You can install resistors on all of the airbag plugs to prevent that from happening.

Hello ! Please respond i only want to remove the seat side frame with the controls. How do i remove only that? Someone said its easy.
I've never done that before, sorry
Is the passenger seat heavier than the RS3's?
Yes. Mine are electronic, massaging seats. My RS3 seats were manual, standard seats.
What size is that torx bit? Also, did you disconnect the battery before removing/installing the seat?
Don't know the size, sorry. No, I don't disconnect the battery.
10mm triple square for a 2019 RS5.
