  • Introducing the all new, third generation V12.
The new V12 is designed to be the ultimate downwind machine for advanced to elite level paddlers. The updated design has more rocker, a more responsive rudder position, and incorporates the very popular V11 cockpit. The slightly shorter length in the Gen 3 V12 allows the ski to turn on a dime and not miss a beat.
After testing several prototypes in locations around the world, we feel this is the best surfski for elite, open-water paddling, especially in big downwinds. The ski is designed to surf runs for longer and pop up quicker at the bottom of a run- ensuring more momentum.

Great video, Ive paddled it a bit now and agree with everything that was said, slices through the waves well, rolls through to the next run really strongly and is super comfortable.

This ad footage is amazing. Drone shot I assume. I was smiling the whole time. So much fun!

I put a hole in my Epic V9 and took it to Al Anderson, in Frankfort Mi. for repairs. Al built Betsie Bay Kayaks for 35 years and has been studying composites ever since they first came out. Al may be the best repair guy in the US. I saw repair a V8 double that had to be cut into pieces and put back together. Nobody else even wanted to attempt the repair. Al said Epic's construction is the best.

A great video and commentary. The beautiful Cape setting is an unfair advantage. :)

Snapped my V10 Gen3 two weeks ago, perfect timing, I paddled the demo of the v12 gen 3 - loved it, ordered it, just have to wait two months now for it to arrive.

I’ve been paddling the V11 for just over 2 years now and love the comfort of the seat and was really looking forward to having a demo of the new V12. While I liked the way it performs I was very disappointed in the ergonomics of the seat. It’s definitely not the same seat as in the V11 despite what Greg says in the video. It shouldn’t be a problem for most people but as I have major back problems it was disappointing.

Have been in the Gen 3 V12 for around 8 months paddling around Sydney off Long Reef and Shelly with Chris Allchin as it happens in his V12 seems he got over the seat thing. Chris has a note below...
The seat is ok for me much better than an Elite S but not as good as a NK.
As for how the V12 goes in the ocean its amazing not sure Epic could do better.
It's the only boat that I have used in the ocean that is as good as the Elite S.
Able to drop onto another runner with out paddling it's almost cheating.
The nose dips under the water and back up with out slowing the boat down.
The bailer works well not that it needs to as very little water comes in the boat it's a dry boat.
The ruder only needs small moments to go anywhere you like.
People will ask is it stable ? it is a top end boat so some people may find it tippy but if your happy in a NK 600 or and Elite S you will find the V12 very stable. If your around Sydney Pro Kayaks have a demo but take it off shore the v12 comes alive in the ocean.
Sydney summer afternoons often have a 20kn NE wind nice white cap runners most enjoyable.
    Hope this helps Jason

Amazing! Hope my new v10g3 isn't gonna become obsolete.

It’s certainly not obsolete. The V10 is a touch more stable than the V12 so they are meant for different paddlers and don’t compete against each other. I’ve had wonderful downwinds on the V10 Gen 3- love it!

As long as you’re having fun paddling it, the boat will never be obsolete.,

    Very serious ski.
I don't know if it's possible to include a background music track that would enhance the introductory experience of most paddlers...
I'd vote for voiced over water sounds...
    (but what do I know?)
