I mean what else can you do in the hotel? When I went I went to the pool in the evening at like 7 or 8 it is cooler and less people and the aqua land water park is really fun I recommend that.
Can chill anywhere. no need to sit by pool getting cancer all day. Adults with children typically want to fob them off at the pool and sit on their phones all day.
Yes just come back from last week here, the video is spot on although I would say numbers were greater last week and all beds gone in 2 mins ! I even heard of one guy who broke a toe in the stampede trying to secure his 10 beds in a line..... Never again ....
I got so fed up of this fighting for sunbeds culture in spain that i now go to the carribean to avoid this crap and in the resorts there they have so many sunbeds its never a problem finding a free one.
I’m sat poolside at this hotel as I write this comment. It’s February and the hotel is fully booked. They do try to tell you not to reserve sun beds but people do! There’s a new pool by the kids club that not many people know about. Every morning we come back from our walk and there’s 50/60 empty beds. No problem!
I remember when I first went on holiday I thought the towels were left for the guests so I just used whatever chair I wanted and any towel! Always went to the beach for the day so never realised!
World War III: The Sunbed War! The combatants: UK vs France vs Germany vs Russia! It's every nation for itself as they seek to conquer the promised paradise island of Sunbed!
OMG this is really incredible. Yes working all year, one week holiday to get up at 6am OMG Yhe only thing you can do about it is get yourself a swimmingpool of your own ;)
Just be prepared to be poolside by 7.15 to ensure you get pole position because others come just before 8 and may run faster whilst elbowing you out of their way x
At least in SE Asia, people don't worry about this shit! I guess that is because there is enough beach sand, warm salt weather, tropical sunshine, and hot temps to go around for everyone! 🤣
I go to this hotel in December. What a shame that I see these Englishmen and Germans as they run after the sun loungers. I thought that such a thing will not see in the civilized world. Greatings from Poland.
We've been to two different resorts that were both almost empty. That's a breeze. Staying in bed till 11, and then have a majority of the beds to choose from. It's possible, if you invest some of your time looking for it.
Who the fuck goes abroad to lay on a sun lounger all day drinking? If it was me, I’d be out every day exploring and spending most of my time in the sea.
I don't think one person matters for keeping this alive. This towel laying behavior is a global thing. Like any resort around the world this is happening. Best is to not go to a resort but just get a small rental house for your own.
So what are they waiting for in the beginning? The start signal? And why don't hotel provide staff to assign sun beds? Not booking beforehand but just assigning on the spot. They give you a sunbed that's stored somewhere
Jeez that's crazy, just booked for October had read the reviews thought it cant be that bad. OMG I can see how this can ruin your holiday. Best pack my running shoes oh dear
Why does the hotel do this? Honestly I’ve never been to a resort that does that, if I don’t get the exact chair I want tuff luck no biggie, some people are just too much.
The hotel I stayed would then go around removing towels before 11am if one of your party were not there. The queue at reception was a constant broken record of "you know the rules".
To be fair your in the cheap bit, Dunas maspalomas suites & villa's (next to yours) is a better class of holiday maker, you don't have that council estate sunbed drama. & why you trying to stress a little kid about it is beyond me, grin & bear it don't ruin they're holiday aswell.
in some countries people walk/wait for water, whats wrong with a 5 euro airbed,i usually get a snickers bar,or bars squish them and set them sail in the pool around 5am
They should do it so you book Sun beds when you get to the hotel and they should have enough for everyone. Or if you leave sun bed for more than half an hour then towels removed so others can enjoy.
no I got nothing from the hotel etc for all the stress it caused... people don't realise how upsetting it is just having to scrap to get a sunbed so you have a base in the sun for the day that is what you go for, otherwise you'd stay in this country...I did a villa this year and loved it. up when I wanted no fight for sunbeds , breakfast when I wanted it granted I had to make it but didn't mind. kids stayed in pool until it was dark. no entertainment but we didn't feel we'd missed out it was the best holiday ever
Villas are OK when the kids either are really young or grown-up but between the ages of 5/6 and 15/16 they want to look for other kids so hotels are better.
I always wait until everyone dropped their towels and go for breakfast. then i pick a spot, get rid of the towels and drop my ass on the chair. Once they come back they are angry but don't their to throw me off te chair and complaining with the pool attendant has no use. Reserving a sunbed is not mostly not allowed.
Its crazy. I'd be running too lol 🙈. Not good. I'm wondering if there's a way around it, like bringing a blow up air bed or a fold up bed? But then could you even buy a fold up bed there? and even if you did, you couldn't take it home with you either lol. What a dilemma! 😂
I just got back from this hotel and it's not done like this now, people can wake up at 4 and put a towel on a sun lounger, if you don't put one down by 7 you won't get one at all
I went about 20th August 2015, it was the same then fortunately myself and partner spent more time out of the hotel as it was just the two off us, but we would have liked at least a few hours by the poolside but it was completely impossible because of this sunbed situation!!! Never seen anything like it in my life!!
Anyone else see the bloke in the grey shorts who was running to get a spot who then slipped and fell over near what looks like a "caution wet floor sign" 😂😂😂🙈
Hi, I'm writting from LA SEXTA TV. We are interested in this video. We would be really interested in including some of the images in our tv program. Can we use this video?
@Producción Sexta : I found this video embedded in the page of a Dutch broadcasting company: nos.nl/artikel/2186019-elke-dag-weer-een-run-op-de-ligbedjes-wat-kunnen-hotels-ertegen-doen.html
Why would you bother taking part in this each day? Especially if it makes you feel poorly. I wouldn't mind a sunbed on holiday but not if thats the undignified way it has to be done.
Ronny op de Beeck my stepdad used to go around the pool in the evening and chuck the towels people had laid out on the sun beds the night before into the pool
Vacation is supposed to be relaxing stressfree, freedom and just be lazy, or adventurous. In this video its the opposite. You go on vacation, book somewhere for a bed and breakfast or rent such small bungalow, some also have swimpools its little more expensive but at least you have real holidays without stress and having to fight for one square meter, also closer contacts with the owners that can help you better with what you can visit or about the activities
One of the most ridiculous, entitled things I’ve ever seen. What is fun about sitting or laying around a pool with hundreds of people? Give me the mountains, fresh air and open spaces.
Literally a holiday from hell. Masses of British, and I bet they have a local Irish bar and bars streaming Only Fools and Horses on a loop all day. Oh and a wall of faded pictures of the food they sell! Quality, not! Horrific. Could pay me to do that kind of holiday
OMG, I can't think of anything worse than being on holiday and sitting on top of each other like that!! It looks awful. And how sad that people actually do this every day is beyond belief. Sad sad people!
well when you have to get up at the crack of dawn just to get a sunbed you do feel ill you're meant to go on holiday to relax not push and shove to get a bed. there is no where to sit if you dont get a bed. families were tsking it on turns to sit by the pool. go and try it see how you get on you might need a holiday by the end of it.
Hi Joanne. We have just come back from Club Jandia Princess Hotel. The same story. I am so angry. This issue destroyed our honeynoom. Is there anything to be done to get my money back? Any organisations dealing with holiday complaints? Lucas.
Mmm not bad idea however people were already out there by then so I'd have been seen I did toy with idea of taking one up to my room and bringing it down each morning however lift doors were dodgy and small. i couldn't lump it up the stairs
I'd just throw a towel off my balcony and ask a member of staff to put it on one for me and if that didn't work I'd just throw there towel on the floor and move the sunbed to a different spot no joke
1:46 These two dudes on the left taking 7 seats, and then they are guarding them. Likely for their families or something, but wtf. This whole scene is sad. Take a break from the work rat race, to enter the swimming pool rat race.
out of bed in the morning and back in bed for rest of the day....what a boring life, paying for a holiday to stay on a bed,
I mean what else can you do in the hotel? When I went I went to the pool in the evening at like 7 or 8 it is cooler and less people and the aqua land water park is really fun I recommend that.
Ava George No need to stay in the hotel! There’s a whole world out outside the hotel complex...
My thoughts exactly..
Can chill anywhere. no need to sit by pool getting cancer all day. Adults with children typically want to fob them off at the pool and sit on their phones all day.
There's always the sun.😂
Can't believe, when on a beautiful island like Mallorca: Why hunting a sunbed at a pool with a towel, rather than going to the beach?
Imagine thinking this is a holiday
Yes just come back from last week here, the video is spot on although I would say numbers were greater last week and all beds gone in 2 mins ! I even heard of one guy who broke a toe in the stampede trying to secure his 10 beds in a line..... Never again ....
Just look at the guy in the white t-shirt running from 1:40... he falls down at 1:46 :D WHAHAHAHA
Good spot Boris
Nice
Thanks! Will avoid hotel Dunas Mirador in Maspalomas when i visit Gran Canaria
I just got back from this hotel and people were waking up at 5 to get a bed
I got so fed up of this fighting for sunbeds culture in spain that i now go to the carribean to avoid this crap and in the resorts there they have so many sunbeds its never a problem finding a free one.

Certain hotels cause this by locking gates and herding people to one time, why aren’t there beds allocated to rooms
Quick question... why don't these people go to the actual beach?
Most of them British unless proven otherwise.
Mostly north west Europeans
@PhreshFunk nah you were the worst, now it's the russians ^^
World War III: The Sunbed War! The combatants: UK vs France vs Germany vs Russia! It's every nation for itself as they seek to conquer the promised paradise island of Sunbed!
OMG this is really incredible. Yes working all year, one week holiday to get up at 6am OMG Yhe only thing you can do about it is get yourself a swimmingpool of your own ;)
Yh cos that’s so cheap in the UK
Just be prepared to be poolside by 7.15 to ensure you get pole position because others come just before 8 and may run faster whilst elbowing you out of their way x

The USA has Black Friday, Europe has the Sunbed Wars! EVERY country got its own share of stupid shit! 🤣🙈
Polish do it too and French and Spanish and Italian… everyone does it
Parawany nad morzem? :D
Bollocks to that.... If nobody there towel would be on the floor and my arse parked on sun lounger
We've been to two different resorts that were both almost empty. That's a breeze. Staying in bed till 11, and then have a majority of the beds to choose from. It's possible, if you invest some of your time looking for it.
Who the fuck goes abroad to lay on a sun lounger all day drinking? If it was me, I’d be out every day exploring and spending most of my time in the sea.
they got up at 7:30, not to eat breakfast but to "fight" for a sunbed by "claiming" it with a towel? I'm starting to hate this world
I would grab all those towels and toss them
This is like BLACK FRIDAY.... everyday!
Except they are fighting for a place by the pool! 😅
never seen this before in my life this is crazy
What happens if you just…remove a towel and sit?
Hahahaha "Mum has been doing this every morning at 7.15" and now she's filming the stampede that she so desperately helped to keep alive.
I don't think one person matters for keeping this alive. This towel laying behavior is a global thing. Like any resort around the world this is happening. Best is to not go to a resort but just get a small rental house for your own.
I have just come home from here yesterday and you have to be down there at 1/4 to 7 to get 1 any later and you've not chance the place is full
Just remove towels of other guests if there is 1) nobody around and 2) nothing else on the bed.
Freek Monsuur c
Freek Monsuur then if they come back just say that their a shit head
Throw them in the fucking pool
Be prepared for a fight then though... don't know if that's part of the relaxing holiday.
So what are they waiting for in the beginning? The start signal?
And why don't hotel provide staff to assign sun beds? Not booking beforehand but just assigning on the spot. They give you a sunbed that's stored somewhere
this is fxckin awsome! ;]
I'm planning on going at end of Sept, but this is seriously putting me off x
Am i the only that thinks that looks fun
Shouldn't buy the super cheap holidays.
Jeez that's crazy, just booked for October had read the reviews thought it cant be that bad. OMG I can see how this can ruin your holiday. Best pack my running shoes oh dear
If that's going on holiday you can poke it.
Why does the hotel do this? Honestly I’ve never been to a resort that does that, if I don’t get the exact chair I want tuff luck no biggie, some people are just too much.

MultiShizzledizzle you SO hit the nail on the head...my exact thoughts.
I’m on my first day here, still the same 🤦🏻😂
in some countries people walk/wait for water, whats wrong with a 5 euro airbed,i usually get a snickers bar,or bars squish them and set them sail in the pool around 5am
They should do it so you book Sun beds when you get to the hotel and they should have enough for everyone. Or if you leave sun bed for more than half an hour then towels removed so others can enjoy.
it really spoilt my holiday x
Always amazed looking at Germans and Britons spending their vacation and relax ... xD
no I got nothing from the hotel etc for all the stress it caused... people don't realise how upsetting it is just having to scrap to get a sunbed so you have a base in the sun for the day that is what you go for, otherwise you'd stay in this country...I did a villa this year and loved it. up when I wanted no fight for sunbeds , breakfast when I wanted it granted I had to make it but didn't mind. kids stayed in pool until it was dark. no entertainment but we didn't feel we'd missed out it was the best holiday ever

Beside the stampede, why on earth would one go to Gran Canaria to spend the whole day at the pool?!?
I always wait until everyone dropped their towels and go for breakfast. then i pick a spot, get rid of the towels and drop my ass on the chair. Once they come back they are angry but don't their to throw me off te chair and complaining with the pool attendant has no use. Reserving a sunbed is not mostly not allowed.

Who was the bookmaker .. were they taking bets 😁

Never seen anything like it in my life!!
Just go to SE Asia (once the Pandemic is over)! You will NOT have to worry about this shit! 🤣
This is possibly the highlight of their day.
That, getting pissed, having a full English and getting a tattoo.
Anyone else see the bloke in the grey shorts who was running to get a spot who then slipped and fell over near what looks like a "caution wet floor sign" 😂😂😂🙈

SicaruNgaDiidxaza hi I charge £50.00 for the video as ITV have paid this sum before to use it
2023 and its still as bad, just back and I had to get up at 7am to join this circus to ensure a couple of sunloungers for my family 🙈🙈🙈
Not sure what is worse, the people queuing for the sunbeds or the lady filming it .
Relaxing holidays
I would go whenever I want en just remove towels where no one is laying for 30 mins
pick a hotel near a beach. We had a nice one 3 min walk down a hill, meant no one bothered with the pool
Why would you bother taking part in this each day? Especially if it makes you feel poorly. I wouldn't mind a sunbed on holiday but not if thats the undignified way it has to be done.
Hotels should avoid this, unoccupied towels in the bin right away. Or just double the size of the grounds and swimming pool. And heat that cold water
Ronny op de Beeck my stepdad used to go around the pool in the evening and chuck the towels people had laid out on the sun beds the night before into the pool
this is 8 years ago but Jesus Christ there’s enough chairs for them all 😂 did I also see that guy slip 😭
ALL those wonderful beaches … 🤷
Vacation is supposed to be relaxing stressfree, freedom and just be lazy, or adventurous. In this video its the opposite. Just bring a towel and go to the sand itself! Lotsa space for relatively much less stress! 😅
the kids haven't broken up yet so lucky you. they would not allow towels the night before during their busy time
One of the most ridiculous, entitled things I’ve ever seen. What is fun about sitting or laying around a pool with hundreds of people? Give me the mountains, fresh air and open spaces.
I have been locus tooo! 🤣🤣
Who would want to go on vacation to these places if there is obviously nothing else to do there except lay by the pool. No beaches?
I would just ignore that towel reservations…
Glad I’m not a scum bag and go to these places
That girl is blue is really cute
1:53 Guy falls pretty hard. 😂
Sympathise with you.
Can't people just go to the beach? They travel hundreds of kilometers to keep their lazy butts in a hotel?
and the beach is a 4 minute walk...crazy
never had this problem in cancun mexico coz the hotel had more than enough sun beds for everyone.
its not about the number of beds. its about conquering Lebensraum
Literally a holiday from hell. Masses of British, and I bet they have a local Irish bar and bars streaming Only Fools and Horses on a loop all day. Oh and a wall of faded pictures of the food they sell! Quality, not! Horrific. Could pay me to do that kind of holiday
But there's still more beds than people. I really don't see the issue at all. Looks like a bit of fun to me.
OMG, I can't think of anything worse than being on holiday and sitting on top of each other like that!! It looks awful. And how sad that people actually do this every day is beyond belief. Sad sad people!

More stress on holiday than at home
สระนิดเดียวคนเยอะขนาดนี้เลยหรอ??👏👏👏
you feel like it was the last thing they dreamed of before they died, pitiful. they've been waiting for this since I don't know when?
it seems that you have to be properly organised when you are poor. glad to have my own swimming pool!
Jostle for position - all part of it. Welcome to humanity. Wait till the food shortages.
Hi Joanne. We have just come back from Club Jandia Princess Hotel. The same story. I am so angry. This issue destroyed our honeynoom. Is there anything to be done to get my money back? Any organisations dealing with holiday complaints? Lucas.
this ruined my holiday too i was so angry
I've just come back and yes I HAD to do this in order to get chairs for me and family..
or don't have one
What madness is this? Just to sit around a pool? Thats not a holiday in my book!😮
How can watching people sit down make you ill?
yeah i know like wtf is wrong with her
Debbie McDarby because she did the day before she filmed it
Mmm not bad idea however people were already out there by then so I'd have been seen I did toy with idea of taking one up to my room and bringing it down each morning however lift doors were dodgy and small. i couldn't lump it up the stairs
Wouldnd be me . My mums just back from Morocco and says she won't go back the exact same shit happened there
Just go to Southeast Asia! There is more than enough sunshine, warm tropical weather, and beach sand to go around for everyone! 😂😂😂
I'd just throw a towel off my balcony and ask a member of staff to put it on one for me and if that didn't work I'd just throw there towel on the floor and move the sunbed to a different spot no joke
I don't do holls like that prefer beach or exploring around where I'm staying
I went in July just before kids broke up about a week before
I would have got up at 6 and lobbed all of the sun loungers in the pool ha
SKIP TO 1.45
What is all this about Brits and Germans? I never knew it was a stereotype for nationalities to put towels on sunbeds...
Russians and French are also major players in the Sunbed Wars from what I heard!
LOL
"ruined my holiday"
just as eccentric as the germans, if in a bad way
Go dunas suites hotel 7 pools you dont need to worry about all that lmao
what is the nationality of these people
Mostly Germans, looking for a small piece of vacation lebensraum...
stewie1911 commend of the day!
Britons and Germans. Not even important. Both are same stupid.
Spity actually it's mainly Scandinavians and Russians
Probably European
We went there and we had the worst time ever I can't believe This.are room was right next to a moterway
1:46 These two dudes on the left taking 7 seats, and then they are guarding them. Likely for their families or something, but wtf. This whole scene is sad. Take a break from the work rat race, to enter the swimming pool rat race.
I would just walk past the sun beds and remove their towls. or during the night i would cover each and every one of the with itching powder lol
So sad that everyone mad dash to sun lounger, reminds me of people rushing too get toilet rolls an pasta in lockdown 2020 , 🤣
Holiday ? That's no way a relaxing holiday and not a good advert for this hotel 😂
