-Tripod or some form of stabilizing. (shaky video wont work)
-10 clips of 20 - 30 seconds (please do not edit, just raw footage)

I've been using one for over a year. Best purchase ever. I have MP 40's, Nero 3, and this thing hasn't failed me yet. Now I have it in the sump to aid help mix when dosing.

Here’s more on my Reef tank:
Aquatop 24G Nano Cube with overflow box.(small skimmer /and bio media)
I currently have 2 Clownifish and 1 cleaner shrimp. For corals I have 1x candy cane coral/1x Daisy polyp coral/ 1x Duncan coral/ 1x Green star polyp coral. The only one that isn’t doing too well is my Candy cane coral which I thought might have to do with high Nitrate .

Hey Vincent, I do have the hygger heater, 3 actually. In the 6 gallon, 10g and 3.5. They work well. The external thermostat is spot on, but what’s you dial it in with your thermometer your good to go😊👍🏻there really small I have a vid on it also 😃

For those of you that the propeller is really hard to turn and causing an error on the controller. I had to take a screwdriver in the whole in the back of the motor and tap the pump down on it to push the propeller off by pushing on the white tip of the rod. Its supposed to pop off easy like it does in this video. It took quite a bit of banging but it finally pushed the propeller off. I then took a Q tip, removed a lot of the cotton so it would fit in the shaft area and with some alcohol, cleaned out the area the white shaft is supposed to easily slide in. I then wiped the white shaft of really good and bingo the propeller went easily on the motor and it started working great again. These pumps are really made to easily clean and service.

Hi, can you please let me know if I’m case of power loss the wave maker preserves its settings? I know it has feeding mode but for corals when feeding I like to program a timer to switch off all flow for 40 minutes

How is the leather coral that you fraged has it attached itself to the rock yet? Great video sir.
The last piece I cut didn’t do to well😞it got some form of bacteria in the cup it was in and dissolved 🤪I think it had to do with flow over it. Not enough

Hi, I started off with a 15 gallon but have stagnant sand bed and need to add flow now since I have an algae bloom but I’m having trouble determining how strong a wave maker I should get is this mini fine to help with Cyanobacteria red slime?

Tom your seriously hilarious lmao that clip at the end with the headphone was amazing... quick question i am on day 18 of my cycle. i used dr tims one and only but it did not cycle nearly as fast as the bottle suggested... my nitrites are still high and wont go away.. i did a water change last night so im hoping the nitrite will start to fade... every time i add ammonia it breaks down perfectly so i know its almost there i jus need to get rid of these nitrites =( right now my ammonia is 0 and nitrites are like 2-5 ppm
😊I’m glad you liked my hygger mini wave headphone😃 hang in there with your cycle. Don’t add anymore ammonia and after a week test again.maybe a large water change at that point 👍🏻
@@TOMReefer yea I did a 5 gallon water change and now the nitrites are dropping. Once I get to zero I will add one more dose of ammonia to confirm it’s cycled. This is my first nano I used to have a 75 gallon for 7 years
Great video, thank you! I wonder if anyone can help? I've been using a model HG-951 Eco Slim Wave maker for over a year and started getting an ERR 6 message and the wave maker has stopped working. The manual lists the error messages but gives no information about what to do. Thanks in advance for any help

Got the answer I needed, I have 1 of these hyggers in my 20 wb cube and I feel like it’s not enough at 100%. I have detritus sitting at the bottom of my tank. 2 might solve my issues.

I do have a question for you. I have had two corals excrete a long brown thing from their mouths. It looks like they are pooping 💩 or something. Do you know what is going on? I had a hammer do it when it first got into the tank now a new zoa did it.

Interesting, I always thought it might be them exreting out dead or dying zoozanthelli. It is definetly gross. I netted mine so it didn't catch on other corals. Glad I didn't force it back in with a turkey baster!.."Get Back in there you ZoozanTraitor!!" Haha.
Hi Tom, got a question for you about the little Hygger pump. Just received mine and it's nice and quiet, but when i listen with my ear to the glass i hear it rattling. Is that rattling noise normal?
Hey Henno, It might be because it’s new. But I don’t hear a rattle on mine. Try taking it apart and putting it back together again. 👍🏻
@@TOMReefer Took it apart but doesn't help, the rattling stays. I made a short soundmovie so you can hear the rattling. The recording was made by holding the phone against the glass of the tank.
The same for my ear by the way. I must keep my ear against the glass or very close, else you won't hear it.

Hi! Do you use carbon filters to remove toxins produced by the toadstool? Or can a skimmer remove toxins? I am new to this hobby & have a 10g tank and planning to add toadstool. Thanks.
Hi AI O, not aware of any leather toadstools that produce toxins, but it’s always ok to have a skimmer or use carbon, but not completely necessary 👍🏻

Hey Vanessa, hmm. What does the tank look like in there? If stuff is blowing around and not opening fully, then probably too much. When it gets dirty, it slows down a lot. Maybe yours is in that stage?

Hi Dan, my guess is no, because they only want them to be compatible with their own wave makers and products. You might want to try asking Echotech if they work with other wave makers. 👍🏻

What did you do with your skim 350 ?
I took it out because I added the overflow box. Overflow box does the same thing, only better 👍🏻
@@TOMReefer will the skim 350 stop those tiny bubbles from accumulating at the the surface ? And also how strong of water flow was the output giving ?
It should, and set it at the slowest output. Sometimes at the higher output it creates micro bubbles. You only need it to remove the surface water and circulate a little

Hi Nick, I get that each time I disconnect and reconnect the power. It usually corrects itself after 3-4 seconds. If it stays error7, then I’m not sure what your options are? Sorry
@@TOMReefer yea I actually had a snail lodge itself in the back of it at some point. I got him out but error7 persisted. I took it out and rinsed it thru rodi but also had to take it apart clean it and put back together. Working again:)

This looks exactly like the TMC Reef Tide 4000 LPH DC wave maker. It also doesn't seem to put out close to 4000 LPH.
Hey Tony, I’m not familiar with the TMC. But the mini wave is good for up to 10 gallons. You’ll need 2 for 20-30 gallons 👍🏻😊
I have one of these. It doesn't do anywhere close to it's rated output. 400GPH at the most.
A separate topic - rock cement. Have you tried Marco vs. AquaForest vs. STIX?
Hi RT1234, I’ve always used Marco. It sets really hard and I like the coralline color it comes in. 👍🏻
Thanks for the quick reply. I need something in the tool box that has a relatively quick set time for re-rockscaping existing rock with corals already attached. Tried the melting pellets approach with limited success.
@reeftank1234 what I do is, apply some superglue gel on the live rock to stick the rock together. Then apply the Marco cement around that area and let it set for about 10-15 minutes. Just keep your live rock moist during this time with a spray bottle of tank water. Mix the Marco cement to a putty consistency not too wet or it will run. 👍🏻
Marco recommends a 2 hour dry time. You can move your structures after 10 to 15 minutes back into the display tank? Thx again for the dialog.

Just ordered one but the only thing I’m going to be disappointed in is the controller lol but price point should be great. Was going to do the AI power head but couldn’t justify paying the 130$ maybe later on when I do a bigger tank so I can match it with my ai prime 16hd

Hi JL C, I run it under water and use a tooth brush. The coralline I leave. If I want to clean that off the cover, I just soak in white vinegar for 4-6 hours
These are junk. You pay for what you get.
I don’t know John? I have several that have lasted 2 years, then I just get a few more. I like them for under 20 gallons.
