@@utubegreats hi lady! Miss seeing you! Maybe this fall when things cool off! We’ve been doing a bunch of much needed projects here, updating this ole place!😊 of course in the heat! 🥵
@@Alisorganics be sure to keep cool while you are working on those updates. I don’t want to hear about you passing out in the road, or even feeling tired and grumpy. 💜 I spent a couple of weeks on vacation in the cool White Mountains of Arizona this month. It was good to get out of the heat. But now I am back here, and it seems hotter than hell. It is time for me to start spending my weekends up on Cedar Mountain or duck Creek or Brian Head.
I couldn’t agree more! I wish I lived near Ali’s so I could volunteer to be her helper/apprentice at her beautiful piece of land to help her with all the chores of the homestead and learn from her. Thank you Ali for so kindly sharing such valuable knowledge with us 💖 Many blessings to you and your loved ones🙏🏼

You speak the truth about gardening Ali, we have 15 acres in a national forest and have 3 separate gardens… the orchard, the market garden ( which is for us to preserve as our market) and the greenhouse garden . They all produce something for us to bottle or put up for the year ,along with chickens for eggs, sheep for wool to spin and meat birds to harvest! Thanking the good Lord for skills!
I love the creative, health-giving, and peaceful aspects of homesteading. I've planted tiny food forests in many places that now bless the lives of the new homeowners. Now, I have enough room to grow everything. Once again, I planted fruit trees, berry bushes, herbs, and annual and perennial veggies. We eat only plants (except honey) so we don't raise animals (except dogs and bees). Instead, we plan to grow calorie crops like potatoes, pinto beans, wheat, and oats. For the next two years, cover crops will improve our soil. God willing, we'll grow our staples in a few years. Of course, it is cheaper to buy them, but like you, we like connecting with our food and developing self-sufficiency skills. Who knows! One day we might need the skills to feed ourselves. Likely not, but you never know. We even compost humanure. Yup. Our hope is a closed-loop system.
We have been here for so long I can't imagine what someone would do with this place if we were to leave, but for now I think we will be here a while. whether we have to rely on our food or not someday, It's so nice having our own as you know exactly what I mean and wouldn't change that!
I loved this episode so much. Thanks for your words. I'm headed there, I have 1 acre with chickens, small fruit trees, and a greenhouse and large garden. I love this lifestyle

Wow... that last line got me. I went vegan for a year, and I really enjoyed what it did for my body. I am not following a vegan lifestyle anymore, and I am interested in homesteading, but I have a hard time raising animals that I will eventually have to kill to feed my family. I don't know how, but I know the answer will come to me. I am binge-watching your videos. Thank you for your content. Greetings from always-sunny Florida.
Awesome video thanks so much for sharing. This is something that’s been on my heart for years. God willing within the next couple of years when we move we can begin a homestead.
Your garden just amazes me. You have so much on that plot of land. You really layed it out well. How long has it taken (years) to get what you have there now? GOD BLESS YOU!!
We have lived here for 36 years now. I didn’t know what I wanted where for years. When we bought the adjoining lot, then it started coming together. It probably took 5 years for the bones, but I am always adding and changing up a little and luckily things work. I feel like it is always going to make things work better and smoother as the years go. 😉
Ali, do you have close neighbors? I can have chickens, but no roosters. I’d love to have a couple of small goats. Just not sure my neighbors would go for it.
@@Taking_Back_Thyme yes we have neighbors and they are pretty close to the goats. When we built the goat barn, we had nothing but a field behind us. Just a few houses around on the front street. Now there are no empty lots. Lots of our neighbors have chicken and a rooster. That helps. When the first neighbors moved in right behind our goats I was nervous, but they loved the goats and sat out on their back porch for hours watching them. It was sweet and I felt lucky and very happy.
I would love to have chickens and dairy goats one day as well🙏🏼 we recently bought some land to build our retirement home and our plan is to homestead so I’m trying to learn as much as I can in the time being…….Ali’s UA-cam channel is my favorite place to learn and dream💖
