  • Arsenal have taken the title race to the final day by winning 1-0 against Man United on Sunday at Old Trafford.
Despite Man City still having the title in their hands, Arsenal will be hoping for results to land their way to claim a Premier League for the first time in 20 years.
But if the Gunners fall short, how long without delivering a league title can Arsenal trust the process under Mikel Arteta for?
Ayo Akinwolere is joined by The Athletic's football correspondent David Ornstein and Arsenal writer Jordan Campbell to analyse how Arteta has managed to build his side to this point, as well as look ahead to what their next steps will be.

It’s more fascinating when you check out those who like to be negative and downtalk all things Arsenal.
They all seem to have something in common and also notice that’s it’s hardly ever city fans?
It’s always rival fans who’s clubs were something in years gone by but are nowhere near Arsenal right now.
Or it’s ex footballers posing as pundits but they were all players who arses got whipped throughout their careers by Arsenal when we were winning Premier Titles.
They all know where Arsenal are heading and if it’s not this season it will be next for sure.
I’m just happy we are back where we belong and that’s challenging for silverware with a strong foundation🔴⚪️

Arsenal are doing well. I hope they keep up with the progress.
People are quick to assign success based off trophies.
But winning a league cup or an FA cup isnt as important as being a top 5 club in the world, of which arsenal arguably are.

We need to rotate players a lot more. That would allow us to go further in more tournaments. Saka and Saliba gab’s don’t need to play every game. We need to have two squads both with their own way of playing. Arteta needs to do better in cup tournament.

David Ornstein is a fair journalist, but I resent the fact he, and most people who write on Arsenal for The Athletic, conveniently forget the fact fans were disappointed with the Kroenkes since 2011! it wasn't just a thing that happened in 2020!. This is why people say the Athletic is a mouthpiece for KSE. They had majority control of Arsenal since 2011 and did not invest or do anything till 2020. Why didn't they invest any any of those preceding years? with the "Project", or give wenger money so he didn't have 45 MILLION a season to invest? They are the sole reason this Club took over a decade to get back to where its meant to be.

The problem with Arsenal is that while they are throwing the league away season by season, sides like Chelsea and Man United will not be poor forever. Despite what the media says or would like to see happen. They have improved immensely, in terms of the way they play, their defense etc. What hasn't changed is that they're still bottlers. Can't seem to ever take advantage or finish a task. They still lose the league when all they need to do is beat Aston Villa at home. This is the same thing they've been doing for years now. Even in the late Wenger years or when Leicester won the league, they'd just lose games that matter, regardless of the opponent.

Grow up. Consistency is the essential difference between Great = "always good" teams versus "occasionally good" teams. Arsenal have not been great for a long time. And losing 1 game to Villa in 17 games is not bottling. It's just not being at the same level as 115 cheaters which should never have been the case had PL done its job.

they wont win this year and you can be sure that Pep will rectify the slow start they had this season. Arsenal have outspent most top clubs with the exception of Chelsea in last 18 months and they have only one FA Cup. They were outsmarted against proper opposition in Bayern. They have outperformed this season and it still wasnt enough. Liverpool came up against this side for years in a row with more points than Arsenal will get and still didnt win. Pep will probably see out his contract and so probably no title next season either you can trust in the process but this isnt any normal team you are up against. Will Saka et all settle for another 3 seasons of top 3 there will be a space on the right of that City side when Silva goes.
