I'll just add to chorus of positive comments. This was a great video that summarizes concisely a number of good starting points for changes as the track evolves at races like DNC and SS, which they will :). Super helpful. Thanks Ryan.
Loved watching everything you mentioned put into practice at the Fall Brawl. That track looked rough, but between yours and Coles, yours looked like it handled the bumps so much better. And it's good to hear from a pro as well, "sometimes you just need to drive around it." Thank you Ryan

Wow thank puts a lot into this topic. Thank you so much for that our track for our pro 4 sc10 's is just that rough hard dusty top with powder outside and in the bottoms this makes huge sense
Ryan Lutz Hi, I'm Giuseppe Masocco. great video, great setup guide! The use of the central differential with the various ratios is well specified and the use of the small case is the large one! The operation of handling the model on the track is well explained. For shock absorbers, very useful if your quick method for checking the density of the shock absorber oils is essential. With the possibility of creating your own usage table. Is the density of the shock absorber oils checked with a cold car or with a hot car, just off the track? Your reflection on the shock absorber plates is truly incredible! It's about everything else! A well-set model exponentially increases satisfaction and driving pleasure! For us amateurs, most of the time we use models with incorrect setups and we always drive the models with little satisfaction and much more effort. that sometimes discourages you! A well-set model will be easier and more encouraging for both the amateur and the professional! Thank you!👋
Thank you Giuseppe for the comment! I check the shock oil feel before running. If you have ill effects on the track you can check after a run too to maybe make a better setup change decision if you notice front end slapping or similar.
On the Kyosho it’s minimal due to how they have the cvd built. However with cars that have the cvd built on the inside of the wheel hub and captured by the bearing it makes a bigger difference. Usually the cvd in that case will result in a touch more grip feel and more support from the driveline making it feel like the driveline is more supported. The universal will result in a bit more free driveline and softer suspension feel. Usually better in the bumps.
Thanks for sharing this information. I have the Kyosho MP9 and love it. Question as im not sure if my shocks are too think or thick, when im at my local track which is bumpy when i go over the jumps the rear bucks up, would this be too think or thick on the shocks 😊 thanks again
Great video and very informative. Im running at a sugared high grip track. Are you going to make a video for these kind of tracks? Thanks My car is a mp10tki3
Another great video Ryan. Can you do a video on what your 10px controller settings are? Like when you would use certain settings depending on the track condition. When do you like to change the settings on the transmitter vs the ESC? What are your preferred settings on low grip vs high grip? I feel like that would kind of bring everything together, with the ESC tuning and this video. Adam Drake has a video on the 10px going over the settings, he likes to play with the throttle range. He recommends 70\30, on braking and throttle. I just like to see what your thoughts are. Thanks
Nice Video! Very helpful. It's also good to see Kyosho bringing more talent by adding Nguyen to the team. I just wish Kyosho would get more engaged with the 1/10 racing scene.
No mention of shock positions or i just missed it haha. Still a great video nonetheless. Raising ride height for me has been an overall good thing to do. Even though I mainly race on high grip tracks (Indy Rc World) a little bit of height helps a ton. Although my links are all the way out haha. Quick question for you or anyone reading the comment. But when do you use a higher center diff compared to your rear and front? I’ve played around having 10k in the center and 5k front and rear and drove not too bad. Honestly made the buggy feel soft compared to what i have in it now 10 10 7. Heck of a lot more drive for sure. with the front being 10 as well.
There is a little bit on shocks comparing 5x1.5 to 8x1.3. Could dive deeper on further videos. Higher center could be a preference thing. More forward drive and more 4wd. If too high on a looser track will make car feel loose. Sometimes we may run 7-10-5 if grip is at least decent and you want more forward drive and stability under braking.
@@RyanLutz Right about piston holes which i started to play with here and there after a local buddy told to try them out. And makes sense on the center diff thank you!
Prob not the right thread. I was searching how to lower my front ride height on my tki2. Seems I can only the lower the front to 27-28 with the collars loosest setting. Light blue springs all the way around. What am I doing wrong?
How much of that testing the shock rebound is influenced with the spring that’s on the car? Like if the tires were hopping off, could that also be the springs are too soft?
Perhaps but a lot is the oil. Generally in racing we only go between one or two different spring rates once we have a base for the car. You won’t see too much variation in that regard.
Right. Couldn't believe how bad Pro AM was soooo blown out during qualifying. Fall Brawl could be worse. Probably needs more maintenance and a lot of water

Thanks Ryan really great info .. question do you adjust your droop as the track gets bumpier?
I usually run my car with full droop all the time.
Only time I may change is to go less droop on high grip and smooth.

What do you think about emulsion vs bladder shocks for the rough?
Emulsion should be better in general for the rough.

Generally in racing we only go between one or two different spring rates once we have a base for the car. You won’t see too much variation in that regard.
What if the buggy has bad weight bias, front heavy. Then say 35 rear oil, 45 front or 55,
Depends on what piston you’re running and outside temperatures.
Awesome....thank you!
You're welcome!
uim sory..i was abit confused...was the chamber gain to be adjusted inner /outer holes...or.. up / down?..wasnt the up down for center roll?...thanks.
Bigger change is up and down. But going shorter makes it happen faster and longer makes it happen a bit slower.
