I don't know this work, but it sounds like a very good performance. I think two girls in the audience in the back have a crush on the young man playing cymbals.
You should try listening to Mariss Jansons's recording with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra (1986)

Please please make another recording, without any sacrilegious cuts to the score. Might as well be an entirely different symphony at this point. Still a wonderful performance though.

Ruined by cuts that Tchaikovsky never intended. Better performances here on UA-cam by other orchestras and conductors. There are at least two from the London BBC Promenade concerts.
piano345. Agree with you. This marvellous work is always killed by cuts of unwise directors who do not dare to direct the whole symphony due to is " Too difficult" to perform. I recommend Jesus Lopez Gomez on an incredible and amazing performance here on youtube by the Venezuela Orchestra.. Kick the very ass to the BPO, at least on this symphonic treasure !
Greetings, I think that Vasily Petrenko is a the master of Manfred Symphony. We can see the BBC Proms version as well as other recent version performed in Germany. Both are amazing.

I reccomand personnally Bernard Haitink. His version is very powerful.
The orchestra sounds great but the cuts are awful.
Ruined... shortened... killed... Try Kurt Masur and Concertgebow Orchestra. Much better than this.
