Old gacha system was garbage, you're just wearing nostalgia glasses. Free valks can come, but we got a whole Coralie for free WITH GEAR at the start of the story and HoO literally came for free in 7.4. The outfit styles look fine to me with their themes, you're free to dislike them but other styles will come too, seeing how they change in Genshin and HSR too based on regions. And your revenue statement is irrelevant, you're not considering that new Stigmata are free and craftable in the Foundry now, which made the game much more generous as before, so less people pay for gear banner.
