I think reason 5 goes just in the US. Because in Europe not all people use iphone nor imessage nor facetime. Instead whatsapp is more likely used by people.
I live in Sweden 🇸🇪. Here the situation is more like the US. Blue vs. green is prominent here too and also we seem to be one of the countries in the world after the US with highest iPhone market share. Almost everyone use iMessage here. But I’ve come to understand we are a European exception and WhatsApp and messenger are more widely used in the rest of Europe than here.
Brazilian here, we use WhatsApp, discord and mostly android phones. before Facebook we used to use iMessage. and it sucked! agreed these applies for us... how crazy
mannnn the blue vs green it's soo annoying... really? that's sad dude :/ I don't care if people use iPhones or Androids just don't exclude one another!
I adore Apple. I got the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil and magic keyboard, that led to my first iPhone and I recently got a MacBook Air. 💻 the ecosystem is essential
Apple has not just an ecosystem, they have a walled garden. It's nice inside the garden but once you see something better outside, it's hard to get out
I'm an android user. I help my family with their iPhones cause I know tech. I dislike sooo many things. They are behind in soo many features. And there are sooo many small annoyances I can't even list them. I wouldnt use an iPhone even if someone paid me. But I'm glad you enjoy your devices
The so-called benefit of having all my Apple devices seamlessly buzzing and distracting me together is one I've started moving away from. I want clear separation from different aspects of my life. Email and social media is strictly a computer thing now. I don't want it on any other portable device constantly with me. I have a dumb phone for calls and messages. No WhatsApp or Apple Messages. I have an iPad for fun stuff like online banking, games, creative apps, but absolutely no social media is on there. I've gone back to a mechanical watch that just gives me the time without beeping and vibrating at me all day. My desktop is a Windows PC and my laptop a MacBook Pro. I rarely use the laptop. I've been addicted to Apple stuff since the iPhone 3GS came out. I'm finally at the point where I'm ready to step away from most of it.
I work in IT and need windows for part of my work. I could use a vm or virtual desktop for the bits that require windows but it’s easier to do them natively. That is powershell scripting and sadly some modules I need can’t run in Mac yet. I also do software repackaging and testing for intune where I need a PC. BUT I do have a work Mac too since I do the same for Mac. For my personal life I’ve sold all PCs and have a Mac mini, mabiok air, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, an iPhone 12 mini for shorts weather and an iPhone 14 Plus and of course an Apple Watch and the Apple TV I’m watching this video on! Plus HomePod minis. So yes. I’m in the ecosystem! My whole family is. 😁
I'd like to say mostly hassle free. I love the eco-system but sometimes it does get funky. Though 9/10 no issues. The big trade off with joining the Apple eco-system atm is the lack of repairability. So before anyone joins the eco-system I'd ask yourself if you're ok with losing the ability to repair/upgrade your device without going hardcore with soldering. lol I felt the trade was good so I took it, plus Mac OS is Unix based so it helps me with my web development.
@@TechbyParkerApple devices are very reliable and I have yet to have an issue, though it's a principle thing. If my machine has a lemon ram chip, instead of replacing it myself Apple either has to do it or replace the entire machine, if I want to upgrade down the line, well all well, if the device is no longer covered and breaks, sol. I switched, I decided it was worth it for what I do, though I don't think it should be ignored simply because it's acceptable to some. Repairability should be legally required in my perspective of any manufacturer of any product type.
Agreed. But the only thing that I feel is missing is the ability to game. If only Apple could provide a good gaming experience, it would be a 10/10 for me. I own a MacBook Pro only because I just love the overall experience of a Mac over any Windows laptop, but from time to time, I do miss having the ability to play games.
when they killed amd GPUs things got bad to worse... I started using Windows coz I wanted to game, and I never like consoles. today with the damn arm they have a so called translator like proton steam deck. but it's not even close yet! and sends Apple locks everything down... horrible choice for games
Macbook air m2, ipad pro m2, iphone, apple watch ultra, airpods pro 2 and airpods max, apple tv. All in the apple ecosystem and to me, it works perfectly. I dont need a gaming pc for example, my xbox series x does all the gaming i need, if i need to play when i am traveling i stream my xbox or i play on my switch lite. Also my spouse has the apple ecosystem and the shared calender, imessage, all that is just great. I know you can achive this with google also but somehow, to me apple just does it better.
I can't agree more, the only thing is I prefer the diversity. Monopoly leads to lower innovation. As multiple companies develop individually they offer a lot of innovation with a trade off of not having one unified system. As for iMessage, I'm not in the USA and I don't get how important it is, Apple's plan to support RCS has taken care of that non the less.
The copy paste feature doesn't work almost always. The facetime call I get rings in all my devices and doesn't automatically stop when I receive the call in one. So I have to manually receive in one and cut the call in all my other devices. A long way to go apple.
5 Reasons to Leave the Apple Ecosystem: 1. Apple products are priced very high 2. Apple products not upgradeable or repairable 3. macOS and iOS have bugs and issues 4. macOS has small software base 5. Windows dominates the world And if you are into the latest, AAA, cutting-edge games, Mac with M1/M2/M3 is not a good platform, compared to Windows.
I agree with most of your points. I’ve never had issues with iOS or MacOS though. I think Apple is good for a lot of “average” users willing to pay a premium for premium hardware, but definitely not best for everyone. Thanks for sharing your points!
Microsoft office, edge, WhatsApp (desktop) and google photos are the reason why I’m not 100 percent apple. I have a surface pro x, iPad Pro (M1), XPS 17 (2022), Samsung S23+, Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Steam Deck OLED, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, and iPhone 15 Pro. I prefer windows due to multi monitor support and window snapping. Oh and the games on PC and Steam Deck. I haven’t owned a MacBook since 2014.
Android is not an ecosystem, Samsung is... Google, Microsoft. If you buy a phone, a tablet, headphones, a watch all from 1 company, it works just as seamless. Don't sell it as a unique feature.
