Sweden should rebuild the old royal palace, it was so unique and beautiful. Current one feels like it's imported and just slapped there with little consideration.
I was born in the USA, but both my parents are from Sweden, my parents split up so my dad spent the rest of his life being depressed. He had a button that said “I’m Swedish and taking pills for it”. I thought you might like that after I watched your “not a very cheerful video perhaps” video
I’ve always wanted to visit Sweden but after watching your videos, now I am convinced I should just move there. It’s so beautiful and magical (at least to me since I live in a desert). Also, you’re so funny hehe.
Just found your channel to refresh my memories of my one and only visit to Stockholm on Christmas 2015, and I must say I'm quite entertained by your style. Greetings from Brazil.
I will visit Stockholm for some 5 days for a business trip. Hopefully, I will have the time and energy to visit the places suggested. Cool and informative videos, thank you
Hej, I am currently interested in Sweden and Swedish language. Found your channel and loved it. Subscribed. You are so much fun :) Just wanted to drop a comment. Have a lovely day.
I love your videos! Very funny! My partner has family who live in Stockholm and we're visiting them this May. We are excited to go and I've been watching your videos in anticipation of going.
I remember in the 80s I visited Gamla Stan and I frequented this DIY jewellery shop called Casstta.. They had a variety of beads and you could sit there and make your own jewellery..
Finally! I was about to write a serious (and kind of rude) message to you about that you have to make äntligen a new video so my swedish spouse and I have some rare happy minutes together in our lonely and dark midswedish forest house. And.... Now we had. Please continue if you want to bring us more happiness. (and as a german, thanks for mention my folks in this vid from time to time) (\(^^,)/)
It's pretty awesome when a video literally makes me laugh outloud- and your translation of the 1000 year old stone did that for me. This is awesome. I'm in Sweden, on Gotland, and if you ever find yourself here, I'd love to do a collab! Vlogging and making videos in general is so fun but it's really special to have someone else to bounce ideas around with- I haven't had too many opportunities in real life to do that- I'm pretty sure I'm the only native english speaking youtuber on the island.
I just came to your channel after watching your 10 things I hate video. You seem to have mellowed. What a beautiful city. Like. Wow. I desperately and constantly look for the beauty in my regional city in Australia. I find beauty but I have to look very hard. You are immersed in it.
The only literal blood baths I read about was Elizabeth Bathory 'The Blood Countess of Hungary'. She thought blood would keep her young and would bathe in the blood by having young maidens work for her than sacrificing them.
Love you, bara älskar dig! Ska flytta tillbaka till hemstaden om några veckor, catch up? THIS is such a brilliant video and channel! Subscriber right away 🙏🏽
The logs was sent from the entire mälardalen. There is no legend to speak about. They just straighted out the flow in Stockholm, collected it to make ships.
"You can go here and, you know reminisce, I guess, even if you've never been here before." humour's dryer than the fking Sahara. You could bottle and sell it as a diuretic. 😘 😘
I’m a half swede half french and since the year of 12 I love mangas and France is like the 2nd biggest manga lover after Japan and there is manga everywhere and since 2019 France got more and more diverse manga catalogs so back then I went to Sweden and was quite impressed that there was no manga… So then I found this sci-fi bookstore and I was so happy because they had a lot of mangas in English wich France didn’t have, but now they have quite the same series as in France so I’m buying less and less manga and also WHY IS EVERYTHING SO OVERPRICED like about 11€ a manga ? I’m France it’s like 6€ plus the cover is much prettier and the quality of the book much better…
Have you ever considered offering guided walk tours on Airbnb? I booked one of those tours when I was in Stockholm this summer and asked a bunch of historical questions including why there’s a Germain church in the heart of the Swedish capital, and the guide couldn’t answer to any of them despite being a Stockholm local! You should totally take up the market share from those incompetent guides!
Are you perhaps standing on the banks of one writing this? I would say yeah, but perhaps Google the specific one you're thinking of jumping into before?
I got distracted, you're soo pale -- put sunscreen on, fly to the Philippines, get some tan! totally unrelated to the video.. sorreehh huge fan of your fukcing humour!!!55555 :D
Can that log drift into some rivers and get ashore to the southern inland please? This a formal request in the name of a (probably too little to be formal) number of people to the Swedes: please come modernly colonize this bloody country with your better social systems, sociocratic organizations, conscious adjustments into equity, ethical recognition of the foundamental equality of all people's value and consequent mutual respect, non zero sum mindsets, kind pragmatism, environmental awareness, animal welfare, skills to let people respect each others businesses, approach to smart minimalism and beautiful aesthetics. Please, thanks.
This hideous Gangnam Style song could be repurposed to promote the Stockholm tourism district of Gamla Stan. Sorry to have reminded you of that atrocious song... Simply change the chorus Gamla Stan!
Did I already know about Geophagia yes, expected to hear it in this video absolutely not! I read before that Queen Victoria liked to smoke weed to offset symptoms when it was her 'time of the month.'
@@FishSlappee Growing up as a 2nd generation Asian (Japanese) in a majority white country, I’ve always been wary of how other people talk about Asian tourists, mainly because it hits close to home since my parents love to go on those group tours. Thanks for the clarification! I'm sorry if my mentioning of Asian tourists caused offence, I mearly meant it as a fact that there were not many tourists from Asia back in medieval times compared to today. Just a rather silly, obvious statement. Absolutely no offence meant at all ~

that would never happen sadly

dude, your sense of humor is ... chef's kiss perfect.
I was recently there, I couldn't get enough of it. It is a gorgeous place. I fall in love with it 1000 times everyday.

"Current dad" like it changes periodically :D
I love going to Times Square whenever I'm in Stockholm, even if it is a bit crowded. 🍻
Thank you so much. I'm about to visit Stockholm for the first time next month and you video helped a lot and made me laugh.
Very nice video. Definitely worth watching. Thanks for the historical insights on the city's development.
I don't drink however I wanna visit that cave thing/pub to get a viking vibe. GREAT VIDEO JULIAN!! ✨
I love the cave pub.
Delightfully quirky humour as always! And very informative.
you just resolved the dramatic enigma of my sweetheart furry liking the wall by the way, huge thanks.

As an anthropologist "Slummy as all shit" was most definitely the title of my master thesis :D At least, according to the second and third reader : (
Thank you for brightening my day. Gonna watch all your vids. 💚
I don't know why youtube showed me your videos last night...but I'm not mad. I laughed so much! Your dry humour is amazing.

I clicked at this video to learn something about the cravings of pregnant women and I didn't get disappointed! 10/10 video as always ♥
Damn, you're smooth! 🤘🏽🤣
Quite nice.. your humour helps me miss my old friends still living in Södermalm. Bad Tines good times.. lol
Yes as the target demographic for a bloodbath (teen) i can confirm that we do enjoy slaught- i mean reading about stockholms bloodbath
Sumptuous Stan more like 👀 another great video Julian! I'll have to go to Times Square next time I'm there, I must have missed it. 😏
Another slaptastic video. Mycket informativt!
They probably used that runestone on the corner because it fit.

As a hungarian myself, this is absolutely true
Pastis is the only resturant worth visiting in Gamla Stan in my opinion.
Ah yes. Very nice. I was just about to engage in some good ol' Pettson & Findus worshipping.
I went to Sweden in 2012 for 3 weeks. Stockholm is very beautiful city. I want to visit there again
I'm so happy you finally uploaded ❤️

okey, i get you. This was just too silly
6:40 I used to work in that restaurant! 😊
Hi! I googled about voting and found your video for 2018 elections. Would be fun if you made a video about all the campaign slogans this time around.
Starbucks don't you mean Espresso House lol?
This is great! Going to stockholm next week :)
And if you are into extreme metal, Sound Pollution record shop is not to be missed! :)
So... the Sacre Coeur at 5:36 was a joke like the Times Square a little bit later?

Eating white chalk while pregnant is a real thing - my mom did that when she was pregnant with me 😂
Did you come out ok? Covered in chalk powder? Do you have stronger bones?

Guided tours from you anytime soon IRL ?😀
Kristian den gode gjorde inget fel, come at me bro!

The most weired settlement, tiny, rugged roads, some buildings have no elevator. This was a time when Swedes had a tiny mind in construction.
i'm going to visit dressed as a viking
Hej from Costa Rica🤙
Took me 4 videos to work it out, but you sound just like Eddie Redmayne (specifically Eddie in The Theory of Everything)!! 🤔
I have a question, are swedish lakes generally safe to swim in or not??
Are you perhaps standing on the banks of one writing this? I would say yeah, but perhaps Google the specific one you're thinking of jumping into before?
@@FishSlappee okay thank you!
If you can swim, most lakes are safe, but beware of swimming in Storsjön.
