I own the Action 3. There is a hohem gimbal for sale 2nd hand, the 3 not the 4. Would you say it’s worth getting it? How much of an upgrade is this compared to the previous model.

Hello, I assume it also works with older Osmo Action. I have Osmo Action (not 3) and am considering a gimbal. Hard to select. I would only use it for filming while walking, no other special purposes. Would this one be a good choice? Or some other brand? I am getting lost in all the reviews on YT. Thanks.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. This gimbal works for the action 1 but it cannot connect via bluetooth to it. But you can use all the features of the gimbal for stabilizing your shots. I highly appreciate if you buy through my affiliate link you get a small discount as well.

@@marianpavlik6352 i am not sure it is possible for dji to communicate via bluetooth with other equipments. with this hohem, you can stabilize your camera, and with the dji mimo app you can control the camera if you want.
Tbh no i havent compared them. The newest one has the newest stab algorithm which is good. Ive tried the dji rsc2 and rs3 mini, the stab is better on thr newer version so i assume it is the same on hohem

Hi. Does your gimble have a motor tremor if you turn it on without the gopro mounted on it? Mine jerks like crazy if it has the camera not attached to it! And did you managed to upgrade the firmware? I fallow that ass instructions but they dont work!

Somehow that's true. But when i do use a gimbal with a camera i try to connect my camera to my smartphone for monitoring and changing settings..though the mt2 is better if you want to access the back of the camera that's for sure
The footage definitely seems smoother with the gimbal. I have the Action 3 and in combination with my Sony RX10 IV, the pair gives me the best all around results for my travel presentations. I have noted even in rock steady plus, I still get ‘bouncing’ when walking. It appears to be less watching you in your demo. Have you found that to make a noticeable difference?

@@photorabz Oh so that's it. Thank you. I shot motovlogs with the Dji Action 4 and was happy with it in variable shutter speed settings, but it failed to stabilize 180 degree cinematic shots.

Nope, dji does not allow this... But you can press the record button on the camera it isn't that hard, although I agree it would have been better if we can start stop from the gimbal
With the gimbal and without electronic stabilisation there is no more jitter in the background. Also with the gimbal and rocksteady the jitter is way less. It seems that is the sweetspot to avoid these jitters. As you mentioned this will be a big advantage especially in lowlight/night. I I have the isteady pro 3 but not use it to often because i changed to other cameras with other gimbals. But he does his job ok.
@@ThatVideographerNick the camera cannot compensate anything, the sensor is fixed, what the processor of the camera is doing is the following: checking each frame, stabilizing the footage by cropping in the frame hence reduce the field of view, hence not using the sensor to its fully, hence not using a real 4k image from the sensor, but instead an oversampled image from the cropped one to the 4k, hence making the pixels bigger, hence reducing the quality cameras with IBIS can compensate, cameras with ONLY electronical stabilization works fine, but for a certain limit. and they have MANY limitations. Hi, great vid. Just grabbed this gimbal but having trouble understanding what the heck the app is trying to tell me. I can connect fine to the app no problem but I don’t seem to have an option to view the firmware information, to see what version It is on and there is no option to ‘Update’ either

Hi my friend. Actually we cannot connect action 3 to this hohem. We can mount it easily and control the gimbal only. We should start and stop the camers from the dji mimo app hope i answered your question and plz subscribe that helps my channel alot
Only useful in low light but these cameras are not made to film in low light so I recommend switching to a camera with a much larger sensor if you want to film in low light or night

I have the same setup and i have the same problem without rocksteady. The gimbal wobbling by the left and right edges of the video. Im not pleased with this video. I don't know if it can be fixed.
Thank you for this video! I thought it was problem of my hohem isteady pro 4, but I can see yours is suffering from this issue too. When eis is off in camera there is a notable "circular" wobbling by the left and right edges of the video, in other words video look shaky and not smooth. I was really disappointed when I've noticed it on my footages when I first got isteady, and I've got to mention I've had an experience with other gimbals (f.e. feiyutech vimble for smaller action cameras) and there were no such issues. So imho gimbals are great for action cameras to save wide FOV and lower the shutter speed but isteady is a garbage because without any kind of eis footage is shaky and unusable =(

Because believe me i had issues with my sonyzve10 on crane m3, problems with dji rsc2 with fuji xt4 and xh2s, i had issues with vimble 3 with a smartphone as well, so i found out that every camera has its own BEST SETTINGS that we should apply when using a specific gimbal. Gimbals are not turn on and start using them as they are commercialized. So when the weather will be softer i will go out again and record a video abt this. Thank you alot for your precious comment. Nope sorry, i couldn't reproduce the issue everytime i wanted to make this video....add to that i noticed something that when using a gimbal, you can smooth the shots, but in order to avoid all those jitters and bumps you should make your movement very slow (ninja walk) which is not always what we do when having a gimbal, we rely completely on it and we forget that a gimbal is not an easy thing to use even if it is a plug and play. @@photorabz I always soften my footfalls when using a gimbal for this reason. It doesn't 100% stabilize your shots unless you still exercise a degree of care. Also I have seen some bad reviews on the isteady pro 4, i'm leaning toward the m6 if i can get it to work with the osmo action 4.

No. A gimbal is not needed if you understand what rocksteady stabilisation is. I have 20+ years in video,film and photography. Feiyutech Gimbals are much better.
Well. Any mechanical gimbal can do the job. Sure some are better than others. If you listened well and if you read well, i am saying do we need gimbal for action camera, it happened that i have a hohem one. It might sucks for you but it works just fine for me. You should have done a low light test as you said, that's when electronic stabilization struggles. Day light has no issues

All gimbals to my knowledge need a weight to be balanced and updated even the dji rs 3 pro and the rs3 mini.

Yeah it is easy to balance an action cam. This gimbal is not dedicated to cameras like zv1 . I recommend hohem isteady mt2

Absolutely don't use a gimbal on motorcycles because the high speed movements can easily break the gimbal head.go for an action camera

The best option ever for low light. Now I use the mt2 from hohem also, I can adapt it to action camera, phone and cameras

That’s because you don’t need the gimbal. The camera is trying to overcompensate for the unseeded gimbal and you introduce jello and jitter.

I have to use a gimbal since I shoot much film leaning out of train windows!! A GoPro 11 can't cut it on its own.

I think i had to calibrate the gimbal . This wobbly effect is mainly due to the unbalanced motors. hope i answered your question
@@photorabz I have calibrate the gimbal with offline and 6 way calibration. Nothing.
