What a pleasant surprise waking up this morning to my suggestion from yesterday becoming a reality, thanks! Bozzio has been a favorite of mine since I first heard him with Zappa.
My pleasure totally. I have played bass for many years and have been fortunate enough to have been Nicko McBrain's clinic touring bassist along with my mate Phil Hilborne. In the early 90s we were in Germany at the music fair in Frankfurt playing for Paiste Cymbals and Terry Bozzio was also performing in the booth. It was time when Terry wore the chain from his nose etc. I chatted with Terry about his career and his time with Jeff Beck. We even had a jam and then we all went out for Indian food. Lovely guy. Happy days 👍😃
@ArtistDrums what a great experience and Terry seems like a very down to earth person. The "Guitar Shop" album he did with Jeff Beck I think is a masterpiece and I regret not being able to see the co-headlining tour they did with Stevie Ray Vaughan. The drawbacks of being a working musician.
I read (probably in Modern Drummer in the 90’s) that he recorded this entire album without a click, and completely from memory prior to other instruments being recorded. I imagine this is precisely what it sounded like in the studio! 😂🤯 Thanks for posting this.
Thanks for the likes and subs as it really helps and don't forget to comment 👍😃.
