I gave up a 13900k and a 4090 to be able to build in this case. I downgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 9 7900 and my GPU to a 7900 XTX Reference card. This little build is quieter than my previous build in a Fractal North. I love this case so much!
Design, build quality, and aesthetics matter too. If you want a massive tower with custom cooling then build that. If you want an extremely well built and stylish SFF computer that can support up to a 4090 then get the Terra! The Terra coupled with an external monitor will be replacing my laptop. I cant wait to get my hands on the green.
love the wood but i still hate the single USB-A port up front... it still uses the same internal 3.0 port/header so Fractal might as well give us the 2 USB-A ports.
I'm getting one next week and intend to lie the PSU on the bottom and lift the GPU (RX 6800) a wee bit so the PSU will slide under it. Then I'll put a 120 44mm rad where the PSU was and get a pump/block combo. If I can fit a res somewhere up high even better... The pipework all takes space though. It might not work but the case is not just for style and for grown ups but for styling grown ups who like an engineering challenge lol. Thanks for the vid!
Hey. I know, I know... A year late with this comment... I recently build a system in that exact case. It looks gorgeous sitting on the bookshelf next to my home theatre setup. I went with older parts, for reasons, so the system's build around a Ryzen 5700X3D and an RTX 3080. It runs a bit hot, but the system works well. It was a fun build.
Surprisingly not a Terrable video 🤣 Good stuff fams, very informative. Love these types of videos. Keen for some new case reviews. This guy needs a new case and the new corsair fans
I would like to use a Ryzen 5800X and a RTX 4080. Can you let me know what particular models will fit (what exact Graphicscard and what exact CPU Cooler), so I will not have bad surprises. I am looking for a silent (!) Built.
I have a Inno3d 4070 Ti that is a true dual slot in my Terra and I am using the original Big Shuriken 3 that is 69mm and everything fits easily, cooling is really good too.
Oh that's what i was looking for! Many 4070 ti are quite large. What cpu are you cooling? I was planning for a 13500 mainly because i am afraid the 13600k runs too hot otherwise.
The 4090 FE and 7800X3D fit okay, but what about long-term performance and heat issues? You just build the case and test it briefly. The 4090 FE blows out heat from the bottom fan, so there’s very little clearance between the PSU back and the 4090’s exhaust fan. That’s not good for the GPU, and if you flip the PSU, you’re blowing hot air from the GPU into the PSU, very likely damaging it and risking damage to other parts as a result. GamersNexus also said this case isn’t great for high-end parts and is more suited for midrange components.
Love the look of this case, but the thermals is not very good. They need to add a top hat like the ghost S1 to improve it. At the moment the A4 H20 is a good alternative for small size, thermals, and GPU compatibility.
The max gpu length is stated to be 322 mm, the msi ventus 4080 is exactly 322 mm. I'm wondering how much clearance there actually is. Would that gpu actually fit, since it's right at the max legnth?
You should just ignore the 0 effort comments that people leave. Also you did in fact include the CPU cooler name in your previous review! Your review serves as a reference for everyone with the same hardware, but we want to know what affect the standoffs will have and whether there is enough space to keep GPU temps down. Any insights on this?! Everyone judging the case as not fitting ‘enough’ hardware clearly don’t know a thing about the SFF community.
It's a shame so many wood types are getting scarce now. Bird's eye, zebrawood or even ebony would have looked great on that case. I've noticed on guitars that woods once considered cheap options are now premium.
@@saucyg6371 yea, they would be then. For many decades, ebony could be found on midrange and even some budget instruments. It got more expensive, so rosewood replaced it in cheaper items. Now, even rosewood is getting costly.
Just built in this case last night with a 5600X and a RTX 3070Ti, all worked fine but my custom PSU cables aren’t designed for this case and the cable management is pretty bad. With the case closed you can’t tell though 😊
Can you even fit a Cooler Master MLX-D24M-A18P2-R1 MasterLiquid ML240 Illusion cooler inside the Fractal Terra case? What about in the Fractal North case? Haven't seen anyone fit a cooler inside this case before, just curious
Hi, A quick question, if to mount a fan on the bottom (you can even do two), would you say make them as intake, or exhaust? for this fractual design terra?
The Strix is 319mm and the Terra will fit a 322 mm card so it should fit your GPU and shouldn’t affect cable management due to the side by side layout.
Looking to get a new pc soon and I’m leaning to a sff with this. I don’t plan on gaming too much so a small gpu is fine, not sure I want a big case nor want a pre-built all in one such as a nuc.
@Matthew Rezuke oh lol I already have mine, built a 4090 79000x3d system in it just having a lot of post issues might have a faulty Mobo thinking the ram slots could be damaged

For the small form factor and aesthetics you can do a slight undervolt to reduce heat and have an incredible SFF rig. No one is claiming that this case is going to win any overclocked competitions
