@@mysimplelifestylesum3647 Those are two different movies. Why even say is better than the other movie, when they have no similarities? One is about Animals and the other on is about a warrior
Great ending to the trilogy. The variety of locations and the choice of characters to stay with the circus especially touched me on inner emotions. A three-film journey home to eventually find your true home.
10:04 When Alex is about to cut the rope, you can see the glump regret in his face. Mort meanwhile is just grinning. Both thinking Dubois is about to die, but when she falls into the pool Alex is not worried anymore.
surprisingly with how crazy the script was, most of the emotional stuff was done really well especially Vitaly's trauma. im glad that they chose to embrace the craziness 😂😂
YES! I said out loud in the last one "y'all gotta react to the third one and the Penguins movie" this reaction is ON POINT! So much fun as usual, loved it.
DuBois is probably one of my favorite animated villains. She's funny and she likes a challenge. She wasn't really that "evil", just serious about her job.
Madagascar 3 is the best film in the franchise imo! Watching it in 3D, especially the big “Firework” performance was spectacular! Definitely one of the best cinematic experiences I’ve ever had.😄
watch RRR from netflix and get back ,this movie is rubbish in front of RRR, infact RRR has beaten all hollywood movies worldwide and stayed at top for 2 weeks when released 3 months back
14:07 I’m super honest with this. After this movie came out, kids would not stop singing this part. It was the “Let it go” of the movie, and that came 1 year after.
Honestly the Penguins are the best part of the trilogy. I think they even got a Nickelodeon show where they are (somehow) in the Zoo with King Julien, Maurice and Mort. Watched it as a child. Typical childrens cartoon from what I can remember but I suppose watching one or two episodes (should be around 10 minutes long each) couldnt hurt.
I'm a simple guy. Play Katy Perry's Firework during a spectacular circus performance extravaganza and I'm instantly sold. Nothing better than a movie especially an animated one using a still relevant and uplifting song in a key sequence to lift everyone's spirits. I'd say it's right up there to I Need A Hero from Shrek 2. This was a good ending to the Madagascar story overall.
Totally agreed. I remember being crazy for Firework song way before the 3rd movie even came out but that whole London performance scene sold me up even more for the movie. Definitely up there with I Need a Hero sequence from Shrek 2.
@@Tooba-K123 It's just a really good empowering song and I was a huge Katy stan at the time so it was amazing to see it's use in the movie. DreamWorks knows how to use songs in their movie's key sequences well.
Fun Fact : Noah Baumbach (writer and director of Marriage Story, Frances Ha, Mistress America and recently this year's Barbie as a co-writer) did a 60 page script rewrite of Madagascar 3 and he did it mostly for his paycheck to pay his divorce lawyers. At least he did his best in helping make a decent story so his effort was worth it 😂😂😂
Madagascar 3 is the best of all of them. That's the thing, usually sequels get worse and worse but Madagascar is a rare case where they get better. Madagascar 1 was good, Escape 2 Africa expanded and was better and Europes Most Wanted flipped the paradigm completely and made it a completely hilarious and heartfelt thrill ride.
i noticed when this movie released a bunch of ppl said it was the worst of the franchise and a bad movie in general but I actually enjoyed this, the craziness was what made it fun to watch even if some of it didn’t make sense lol
I hated it the most but I like Alex and the girl together. 2nd is my favourite, the most serious one. Getting kidnapped and finding family again. Identity crisis with the Zebra. About a guy that loves you for looks vs personality. So much deeper 1st one is 2nd favourite because it showed he herbivores thriving while Alex the carnivore starving, it's realistic. How he's slowly going insane but finds out he can go for fish instead.
I saw the first Madagascar in theaters when I was 3. First film I ever saw in theaters. I saw Escape 2 Africa in theaters when I was 6, for what was supposed to be my grandpa’s birthday present 😂 I saw Europe’s Most Wanted in theaters when I was 9 with my little sister. Everything came full circle.
Madagascar is one of my favorite DreamWorks movies of all time. The storyline has the greatest story about a Zoo animals escaping from Zoo for a crazy adventures to reach obstacles land of their pride. I love the last one when the circus with the female bear falling in love with Julian, Casino Royale scenes, and The circus performance with dazzling colorful lines was Epic.
I bring this up in every reaction I see to this movie: I love that when they were put back in their cages near the end of the film, that the color was sucked out of the environment. It takes place at night and there's cold metal fences and harsh spotlights. Whereas in the first movie, at night at the zoo there was soft warm lighting and everything was very colorful. It really shows, even through the scenery, that that place is not for them anymore. It doesn't bring them joy. It's so well done. As for how crazy the movie is? It is definitely more so than the first two, but the original two were still very cartoony and wonky, even if it was at a lower bar. It's not like we went from Lion King levels of realism in a cartoon, to Loony Toons. (I'm not saying that I thought you didn't like it, I'm just explaining why I personally didn't find it that unbelievably crazy when using the current Madagascar series as a gage.)
Without spoiling anything, I can tell you that the Penguins movie is vastly different from the Madagascar trilogy. It's also unrelated to the Nickelodeon series of the same name
There was originally supposed to be a fourth Madagascar film due in May 2018, but it was removed from DreamWorks’ schedule because they had to go into corporate restructuring.
I'm 50/50 on this. Like, the 3rd is a perfect ending and conclusion to the story. They spent their time trying to return "home" only to realize it was never their home to begin with. And they run away with the circus where they can be free. But I wouldn't complain if they continued either as long as it's a reboot situation. Like, a new story to be told through the circus and their adventures. I guess if they do make the 4th one, it'll be a reboot situation since they are doing the same for Shrek 5 and Kung Fu Panda 4.
It's pretty strange how Madagascar 3 is so hated when it has an amazing villain Captain Chantel DuBois, AND makes good conclusion by showing how our characters hate that tight zoo they once thought was big, and then... these creepy final zoo scenes, where they're even further separated and locked down by black lifeless metal fences, and when they were freed, they had all reasons to go to circus, good character development through all 3 movies paid off. And I'm not even mentioning the circus characters and story, especially Vitaly - very charismatic character. It's a wonder that Madagascar 3 turned out so well, because usually movies turn into walking zombies starting from digit "3". I rewatched these movies on this week and have mixed thoughts about hypothetical Madagascar 4 - would I like to risk and watch it to get nostalgic or wouldn't risk and avoid being crushed by some franchise milking. At least they said they won't do it without some good idea
Madagascar 3 is a nice send off as the final movie of the franchise also loved how it all came together full circle towards the end. This quirky , fun and beloved gang of zoo animals animated movies have always held a special place for me as a kid and still now as an adult. Now while I still very much prefer the second squeal way more than the third one for a lot of different reasons, but this third last installment of Madagascar isn't too bad as well as it being a really suited final ending to the franchise as whole.

Also, as someone already suggested Camp Cretaceous, I would also suggest another Dreamworks Netflix exclusive show, Race to the Edge. It happens between the first and third How to Train your Dragon, and there is very little you need to know from the previous two series as only about two or three events from those two are important in RTTE, and it is widely regarded as the best part of the franchise. And Alfred Molina delivers a killer performance in the later seasons.
I love the circus theme in this film - I wish more animated films involved a circus lol. It would be cool to see Tim react to Animal Crackers in the future.
One way to look at the impossible happening in the movie is you’re seeing it from the animals point of view. From their imagination. If they showed it from the human perspective it would probably be a very simple thing.
