I mean it is hard to tell due to the Bonus Ups, but I noticed it a long time ago when I'd check my level after every boss and seeing no change. Then noticed there was no EXP value above their heads when defeating them
I keep seeing people say they wish KH3 had something like this, but the game is so easy you'd never die to see an option like this anyway...
instead of doing it when dying why not at least as a situation command that pops up from time to time, you press triangle and riku tags in for example
Some streamers really suck at end game though. Some of them have been dying up to 4 times to one of the bosses.

King Mickey is like the Yoda of Kingdom Hearts.
For real tho, small stature, wise as hell, is a well known hero of olden days, has the same abilities as the main character first introduced but better, acrobatic attack style, not to mentio- shit my list rolled off the table.

I love how literally nobody reacts to the 'I won't give up' screen, they just click without a second thought and then realize what they did as Mickey comes onto the screen.
Version2LP was the only one that found the option odd, and he paid for it by choosing the wrong option!

1. The game gives you a second chance and you turn it down? You're a special kind of stupid
2. This isn't paper mario dumbass! Don't just assume that every game does the "chose the bad option and you get cutscene before you die" thing
The hilarious thing i wasn't even aware that you can have mickey in early game the first time i got him was versus xaldin lol
he only appears during select fights. but your first death against any fight on the list is a 100% chance of the "don't give up" screen appearing. which triggers mickey.

Mine was never I only played the ps4 version and I only played it once and that didn’t happen only boss I would have liked it is in the Roxas boss but the lore couldn’t make it work
I really like this about KH2, the random elements. Mickey randomly appearing to save your ass, Anti Form (which after the cerberus cup started happening to me very frequently for some reason), all these things just add a sense of mystery and variety, ya know?

True but, at the same time, while Mickey is a really nice surprise, I hate Anti-Form as it usually means I was going to die in that fight, especially against the organization members ^^'.
@@SoraKingdom3 Okay I get that anti form is very fragile but I actually think it's both a great gimmicky form and a badass concept.
One it's super fast, so you may aswell just avoid confrontation, two it's dps absolutely bonkers. If you're good at parrying wothout the guard you might be able to get a few boss kills with anti form too.

Damn. Just realize how op Mickey is. He knows a healing spell strong enough to bring Sora back from the dead. As well as other high tier spells like Stopza and Ultima.
And the fact that you can use him to lower the boss's hp before you finish it off is a bit broken

I always thought this could only happen in the Final Mix version. Coincidentally I just never died during any of the fights Mickey could come to the rescue in.

@@ZiexCee Exactly. And you know what ? They all have different gameplays too. Roxas is both a Sora clone and a Valor form clone, Mickey and Riku play differently but have a base combo and their own skills. In KH3 they copy pasted Aqua from 0.2
actually,roxas is pretty diffrent from sora and valor form.they just look pretty similar(especially considering dual wield has an attack on square too)
It's not about how many, or how equal. It's about... The moment to play as other characters. My own opinion, KH2 was the only game that switch character in such an epic moment! As Riku when Sora grab by Xemnas, and As Mickey when Sora dies.

My first time I had Mickey show up was Xaldin(hardest boss for me the air guy) for some reason the couple of times I had died before he didn’t show up must only be available for certain fights

Only died 2 in gummi ship and once in the frozen slide minigame
@@DerGeileGangster it is easy, especially if you are on recommended level or slightly higher because of exploring etc. I and a friend did mainly the story so we were always like 5 level under the recommendation at proud. + the choice we did at the beginning at the game gave us the second chance ability really late, in lv45+ range. And we beat the story at lv39. So the last bosses were a little more challenging without second chance. 1 wrong hit or getting stuck in a combo and you die xD
On proud i died twice with the ship but never with sora "ingame"

My cousin then lost to Xaldin...and got saved! Freaking both of us out, cause we had NO idea!
Then he died again...and again, and again...
He got saved by Mickey *FIVE TIMES* in the same god damn fight
The chance of Mickey saving you lowers fore each countinue and each I wont give up but it never falls below 50%.

Mickey showed up for me during the Dark Thorn boss fight and I was real surprised when the text "I won't give up" showed up on screen.
And in KH3 you have a frickin token that revives you , great !
When I first played KH2 as a kid and Mickey showed up playable during the Cerberus fight it was one of the hypest moments of my childhood

I'm surprised at the lack of surprise at the "I wont give up" command. When I first saw it I was like wtf? This isn't the normal death screen. Most of them just treat it like it's normal. Even if you hadn't died in KH2 yet you should know what the death screen in the other games looks like unless you played on easy.

A little detail i'd never seen before this is that when the people who gets him in a much later fight, it's Mickey out of his organization outfit. I know it's a little thing but having never seen it before it made me smile. I'd only gotten Mickey on earlier fights myself.
When I was little and played this game I was shocked as hell. Now its on xbox one im still shocked as hell. This game always brings tears of Joy in my eyes 😭❤

I’m not even gonna lie I first got my hands on a copy of kingdom hearts two when I was just 17 years old and the first time I died and clicked the option that says I won’t give up I nearly lost my shit when I was able to play as the king himself!
Fun fact: the last place this can happen is the the last part of the first phase of the Xemnas fight.
(Also apparently that’s the one place where you’re guaranteed to get Anti-Form if your Anti Points are above 5 (and one your party members aren’t dead).)

We play as Aqua and Riku. Maybe dlc will let us play as the other characters since they're already built into the game as party members.

I didn’t know he came this early in the game. I played on the standard difficulty and didn’t get saved by him until the first organization boss fight at beasts castle. The guy with the spears. I was so confused but it was fucking awesome to see it happen. I still died afterward though lol. I only had it happen once. And I think it’s because I chose the shield at the beginning of the game. All the bosses where he’s available I was just able to rank through.
Basically it doesn't matter what choice you make in the beginning of the game. During certain boss fights, Mickey always has a chance of appearing if you die depending on how many deaths you already have.
This is a collection of people who do not know how to dodge or heal themselves.
They play this on their first time, not to be rude, but are you saying you mastered dodging through your first playthrough.
Austin not mastered but definitely spammed that button whenever my health was taking a turn and the. Used any potion or cure when I could. But my comment is about how these guys are the direct, not strategy approach kind of players. If you hear that alarm, you back up and wait for your moment to heal or for Donald or goofy to do it. Never hold your breath on Donald. 🤣

@@symphomaniac well it's common knowledge that the newer the game is, the more likely it's not overly challenging unless it has a mode for it... but Mickey was mostly a joke and it was pretty cool, for an idea. Also.. it makes sense Sora would have friends in high places. it's sort of his whole thing.
I recently beat every boss in KH2 on Proud, and normal Xaldin was the only one where I summoned Mickey multiple times. My post-game counter said he saved me 3 times, but if it counted all the failed attempts with Xaldin, it'd probably be up in the 70s.

Heck, some of them forget that only Sora's finisher can end the boss fight. It's explained in early parts of game.

Obviously Beast's Castle was the first time Mickey ever came out for me, but a moment that's always been really special to me is when it was the final act of the game, and this was during the time when Kairi and Mickey were locked outside of the gates so Sora just went "we can do this on our own", but uhhh eventually I died to armored Xemnas and the absolute rawest coolest thing in existence happened when after I died Mickey came out of nowhere in-gameplay to save Sora despite just being locked away a few moments ago and oh my god it was actually the coolest most shonen thing in existence and I'm never gonna forget it, especially since later on in the game when Mickey and Kairi reappear a few cutscenes later there's not really an explanation for it so it made total sense for the gameplay thing to be *THE* reveal, I'm actually so glad that I died in that specific ass moment in order to get these specific ass circumstances because mannn it was awesome

Kh3 was pretty to look at but so many plot holes. ill give a major one sora wasn't allowed/suppose to/didnt know how to go to the Realm of darkness till he learn the power of waking goes there anyway with knowing how todo it.
All the Disney villains you never fight why? The one keyblade on the beach you pick up you never use. You go through the whole game trying to get stronger just to basically be told if you wanna be stronger believe in your heart. Oh axel and kairi so she gonna protect you but is weak and dies and axel gets beat in two hits. Again not hating but a game that took 4year to 5years to develop shouldnt lack this much.
Story wise kh has always been questionable, its not really new
Also, yes a ps4 game didn't live up to a older game, but also consider said ps had a final remix version which is the version most people consider to be the best.
Kh3 wasn't as good as kh2 for a lot of people because although they share the same name, they play a bit differently, a suprise im sure.
Personally, I prefer kh2FM, but I still appreciated kh3 a lot, and try to not unnecessarily let kh2 cloud how fun kh3 can be
First time playing through the game wayyy back on original release...never got saved by Mickey. Didn't even know until I had to put the controller down against Xaldin and forgot to pause the game

Feels weird seeing people react to this. Especially so early in the game. I don't think I encountered Mickey until after the 1,000 Heartless battle. Maybe sooner, but I know it was at least during that episode on Hollow Bastion. Probably during the Demyx fight. I was like 12, so my memory is a bit fuzzy on the details. I just didn't know Mickey would rescue you prior to that part of the game.
I really miss KH2 Bosses, much more better and well design than KH3
And they were crucial too the story line too. Anyway tho, I'm pretty sure Nomura is working on his dream project of Versus XIII, and I dont know what the games title is going to be but dude, just look into the theories all the fans are making about the secret ending. If anything Kingdom Hearts 3 was the bridge that Nomora made to develop mature content for his characters. So I'm okay with it being just a little lack luster. The game was amazing hands down man. KH2 is still the best game tho lol.
@@fpkblast8465 People also made awesome theories for KH3 and FF15 and we saw how that turned out, no need to get excited over fan theories when all of the previous ones were allready wrong. Problem is , you shouldn't make one of the most anticipated games , that people waited for 13 years a “bridge“ for the next project , and we don't even know if it is something like that, it just had a secret ending similar to KH1 and 2 nothing implies more mature themes, it was just sequel baiting and nothing more. There will be a KH4 or whatever they will call it, and this fact alnone isn't making up for the fact that KH3 was lackluster in every aspect, especially if we look what Nomura produced un the last few years. All style no substance.

And even then I saw it on youtube and thought it was a fake fan made video lol . Then I went back to play Kh1 Kh2 and CoM because I realized I missed so much. Either way man KH3 was amazinga and I cant wait for the next installment... Hopefully by now Nomura knows we dont want developers to make the gameplay stupidly easy.

Still remember fighting Xaldin as a kid and the option appearing to "not give up". I lost my shit being able to play as Mickey, definitely one of the coolest things in the series.
All I can think of is a similar mechanic in kh3 but with Roxas

@@ShoegazeSage It's annoying he would even think the command that basically said give up would do something special for him. He has to be a special kind of slow. We find it annoying and are expressing it, it's not sad. We just don't like the guy.
