Did you notice the amount of cars that crossed in front of the train? In the video they start around 1:00. When I switched Groveton NH mill we always had cars and trucks crossing right in front of us. My conductor was busy throwing switches so he couldn't protect the crossing. One fine day a gasoline tanker truck crossed right in front of me. The knuckle hit the tank by the wheel fender and, lucky for us, no gasoline was spilled. Great video David!! I enjoy your work!! BTW, which end is front? I'm guessing that it's short hood is front!
1419's last home before being "exported" to Chicago was Kamloops, BC in 2004, October. Awesome video to see these run. I presently own 1435 in HO scale... soon a 1000 series, too.
Great video David, makes me miss living in Dartmouth, I remember seeing these when I first visited Halifax in 99 , I have some pictures of them tied up at Dartmouth yard
There is nothing finer than two eight cylinder normally aspirated EMD (or in this case, GMD) 567's moving at load! You captured this very well in a great video! Thanks for posting!

I believe short hood is front. David Othen sadly passed away in 2016.
@@canadianrailfan1532 Oh my....sorry to hear about David. His work was/is followed by many. Godspeed David!
David Poor That is very true. I’ve never met him personally but he will be missed.
I saw 1419 on November 5th 2018.
I always loved these units. During the mid nineties they were quite common on the Sussex Sub local. Great video!
