@@StonedtotheBones13 Yeah, I think since SD is more general purpose the animals will have more of a chance (and it sounds like a lot are already adopted). A lot of breeders likely get traffic only from people looking for specific morphs, and if they're spending morph money I imagine they're less likely to buy an imperfect animal.
As an imperfect human, I am thoroughly pleased to see that "imperfect" animals are being treated responsibly by breeders, and getting to have the life they deserve, with a family that loves them!
I think it’s AMAZING that you have featured other shops/vendors that could be seen as competition. Your networking, outreach, and community building is so refreshing. Building others up which in turn builds your business and profile. Thank you for all you do for others in this space - absolute professionals, Ed and Emily! LOVE love love Snake Discovery!
Not to mention how much effort you put into thanking your fans and showcasing their talent. Spotlighting small businesses is so kind as well. You guys are just A1, top notch bad asses.
You both were so kind. We saw you several times in passing in addition to the meet and greet, just because our whole weekend was tinley. I think my favorite was when my kid and I were taking a rest break and we just watched Ed stop what he was doing to take random selfies with some very excited Littles. It was adorable. My daughter and I just watched from the window and I threw out a "you're so nice!" as Ed passed. (Because moments like that should be seen and acknowledged for the joy and wonder they bring) You were both just so genuinely kind to everyone you were interacting with and to me and my kiddo who was absolutely star struck to meet you.❤ You do what you do so well. I'm sorry your Tinley was disrupted.
My daughter loves your channel. She says: "Hi my name is Zoey. My mom and I found a garter snake and I picked it up and held it for a little bit. It was the greatest day of my life so far!"
He's hilarious too. As a fellow introvert, I get why he wouldn't want to be on camera or in the videos, but glad he is and kudos to him for stepping out of his comfort zone. Think we all appreciate what he brings to the videos.
Yeah but that's cuz medicine usually you taste really bad so if you cover that bad taste with a bunch of sugar you might not want to throw up the medicine because some medicine is so bitter but just taking a giant spoonful of sugar is not a good idea
Ah, but was Mary talking about Demerara, Muscovado, white granulated or icing sugar? 😂 Because it was implied in the video that Muscovado is the way to go!!
What a wonderful idea giving you the "imperfect" animals to adopt! Especially because when people adopt from your program they know they aren't getting some perfect lune bred animal and it's a special needs baby! These is wonderful because these animals still get to live full happy lives and it helps raise money for you to continue this wonderful program! I wonder if more breeders will start doing that! Or even, maybe someone would be able to start a program that is specifically for breeders to donate these types of animals! Everyone deserves a chance, even special "imperfect" animals!
This is beautifully said!! It is good the reptile hobby is taking their responsibility to all the animals they produce seriously. We know from the way greyhounds, and racehorses, are mistreated by too many in their respective communities, with animals often being abandoned when they are no longer generating money for the breeder/owner, it's a scandalous mistreatment of animals that needs better oversight. So it is good to see that the reptile hobby is trying to do things right.
Idk if it's the norm for breeders to sell imperfect animals at a reduced price, but I feel like the app they were talking about is akin to what you're saying. Like I feel like you'd need am entirely separate, national/international organization to run the adoptions. Since I assume like SD, many ppl are v busy, maybe too busy to run their business and coordinate that
I did Animal Care at College and Uni. We had Frilled lizards, and on a hot day I managed to get the reptile department to place mealworms at large distances down a corridor and let the dragons run down the corridor. Like you see in documentaries when on hind legs and frilled out. They had so much fun.
I'm proud of you all for actually giving yourself time to shop this year. Congratulations on the new facility. You all deserve all the love & and success.

In PA we use brown sugar in baking. Also in my oatmeal with raisins. We make shoe fly pie with it and some other bake goods. We are not Amish but in Lancaster Co where they are popular along with some of their foods. We have German in our Ancestry. Love you both. I’m a corn snake lover!

I'd just like to say I've got one of the Joshes Frogs imperfect Pacman Frogs and lil dude is absolutely thriving and you can't even see the issue he has anymore
In regards to the brown sugar... we have a regional pastry here in Denmark and its mostly just baked bread with a coating of butter and brown sugar named brunsviger (brown... you make a sticky dough with yeast, thin layer in the pan and let it rise for about an hour, melt the butter and the brown sugar, make some indentation in the bread (spoon or thumb) and spread the butter/sugar mix and bake the bread for about 20 mins, let it settle to cold (or treat yourself and eat half when its slightly hot and half after its cooled).

I paused at 5:33 and i gotta say it feels like this is what my snake sees when i am looking into his enclosure
Brown sugar is SO good!! But I find it’s best when you just let it sit in your mouth and dissolve, it’s so beautiful.
Of course the show I missed was the one with my favorite dress theme 😭
By the Way, those Chocolate Snake's are perfect for putting over an espresso cup as it drips. like the consistency and taste is out of this world for Espresso.
An Eragon reference??? In MY Snake Discovery video??? I’m crying omfg
Next time we need a hognoseoff between Ed and Emily. Who buys the most but also each snakes has to be a great addition to the breeding program.

I used to work in a bakery, and I'd always taste the brown sugar when it was needed for recipes. Haha.
Fresh homemade brown sugar is SOOOO much better than store bought. We defilitly eat it with everything!
This seems like a fun show.
I'm going to the Dallas show tomorrow, looking forward to seeing everything the vendors have to offer!
Ahhh yes just a normal snake discovery intro of eating brown sugar
In regards to the brown sugar... we have a regional pastry here in Denmark and its mostly just baked bread with a coating of butter and brown sugar named brunsviger (brown... you make a sticky dough with yeast, thin layer in the pan and let it rise for about an hour, melt the butter and the brown sugar, make some indentation in the bread (spoon or thumb) and spread the butter/sugar mix and bake the bread for about 20 mins, let it settle to cold (or treat yourself and eat half when its slightly hot and half after its cooled).
