How did Germany let anyone down? They lost vs. the best team and finally the winner of the euros and they lost not by much.
They got robbed😂😂😂😂
In fact, Germany was the only team that could force extra time against Spain, which managed to score in the last minute.
"Robbed" won't mention the red card Kroos deserved and the offside prior to the handball.
@@damtemanNo. they LOST.
@@javierluissantosrubio6603 and the penalty
Almost all of the big teams were dispatched by the same team before the final...
Yeah. Everything is underwhelming when it doesn't go your way. Spain was overwhelming
When Americans think they understand football....
That guy played it professionally. Did you even play past 16?
As an American I think we need to keep our mouths 🤐
Let’s talk about how our American national team do in Copa America. That was underwhelming and embarrassing.
Congrats to Spain! ❤️💛❤️
@@marcom6089 cringe
@@marcom6089 Omg, you cuckold
It's rather the opposite. Team performance is getting more even and the gap is closing. Teams like Austria, Switzerland or even Turkey did very well.
English pundits think it was poor because England was not impressing, and they got lucky going to the weaker side but I think if the feeling about the big favorite teams (france, portugal, england, except germany who did and they even were almost able to defeat spain) was that they were poor, it is because their coaches. They choose to protect themselves, conservative approach, which in other tournaments turned to pay off, but it was a tactical decision, not that they cannot deliver more spectacle, but they preferred to try not to loose.
What a bunch of losers trash talkers. Big up Spain!!
Not everything
That midfield of Spain torn apart all the other midfield teams that they encountered.
Last 5 Euros: Italy, Portugal, 3xSpain. South of Europe really thrashing the rest.
Historically, WCs and Euros are more focused defensively and not conceding. i.e, Spain in their WC winning, Italy in Euro 2020, etc. If you want to win you want to concede the least. These pundits talk lots of $#!T without looking at the data from the past. What a disappointment!
A lot of conceding in the last World Cup
Almost fully agree with your crit. Germany was so close to kick out the later champs..not any other team at this tournament was able to compete on the same level with Spain. Best match of the Euro 24. Way too early.
Belgium, Italy, Portugal, France, England - all of these teams were definitely underperforming. This oppened the door for underdogs like Austria and Switzerland but sadly these teams were pretty unlucky.
The tournament’s general trend of ‚defense first‘ is poor and outdated. Luckily, one of two offensive minded teams (ESP and GER) has won this Euro.
Another crit goes to the UEFA: Still feels like the new Euro mode with 24 teams and four best third placed to get into round of sixteen was a reason for many boring and low risk games at the group stage.
I feel like they wouldn't be saying this if England won
Kvaratskhelia one sidedly beat Portugal for the biggest upset in history. Italy vs Spain, Germany vs Spain, France vs Spain and England vs Spain much more fun than any of the South American games in the Copa America. Italy made the last second goal to knock out Croatia. I don’t know what they are watching, probably they are too concentrated to their own personal teams
Teams did not underperform. Smaller teams have gotten better and making it difficult for teams with elite players. Football has advanced
What tournament are they watching, All of the Spain games from Italy to England are heart stopping performances. Turkey defeat of Austria is legendary. England defeat of the Dutch is thrilling. Georgia have the biggest upset in sport in recent history by beating Portugal. Ppl these days are too spoiled
Not a bad tournament. But France and Portugal's lack of scoring was INSANE
The medium and little teams in Europe have reached a level where they have more professional leagues and players in top leagues, so the TOP teams cant go sleeping against Georgia, Romania, Austria... and expect to win easily. And with a lot of defensive oriented managers this led to a lot of boring defensives games with Southgate, Deschamps and Roberto Martinez as prime examples.
Spain's golden generation is doing well
Too many games players are tired, players that play less then play against tired legs
Personal awards in Euro,Copa America and WC is already dead
Euro and copa america are both fun to see this year because football is getting more and more complicated with different tactics
Underperform or overrated? I think marketing plays a Huge roll Viva España
I would say that like in many sports. The difference between the "teams" is not as big as it was before.
That’s it. A just fine team with a plan and lots of sacrifice can make it really hard even for teams with much better players.
Actually James Rodriguez has a good few seasons after the world cup. Do your research. Just because he didn't achieve what you thought he did doesn't mean he didn't have some very good numbers. His first season at Madrid particularly was great.
This was a great tournament to me, lots of goals and good games. Maybe it got a bit more boring around the QFs but thats because the top teams playing boring, predictable football now.
Because all the teams around the world are copying Pep Guardiola's footballing system.
Last WC proved a tournament half way through the season is actually better
James Rodriguez first year in Real Madrid was amazing. 15 goals - 15 assists and a bunch of world class scores. The second year he gets divorced and I don’t know what happened, but when he arrived after the world cup he was incredible.
The problem with James was he was a drunk and liked the party too much.
The football from some of the "big teams" was turgid, the established "goats" have been found out, managerial decisions on and off the field were baffling and dragged the quality of what we were watching into places we were not expecting, hype literally ruled over reality (70% possession in the first half of a final is totally unacceptable in the modern age and should cost any manager worth his salt his dignity, let alone his £5M a year job...pundits were so convinced that possession was not important so long as the game was close and the "WE CAN WIN THIS ON PENALTIES" mentality was going to prevail over tactical smarts...outdated and exposed strategic decision-making lost and "FOOTBALL WAS VERY MUCH COMING HOME!!!) Individual quality was usurped by the "TEAM" collective and justice was served.
I am a Spaniard and whilst i could see the green shoots growing a while back now, never expected the so-called "big nations" to literally fall on their collective swords. Spain showed that by selecting players to fit and thrive in a system rather than the other way round is how you progress & develop your own style of play. My team were a joy to behold. Germany played football, their manager came up short. As for France, Portugal, Belgium & most definitely England...they all went backwards to the point that complete overhauls will be required for the next WC which may well come round for them a little too soon.
From what i saw of the Copa America, they too showed a collective lack of invention (Canada, surprisingly, excluded along with Colombia) and if Spain can find a replacement for the selfless Morata (a standout contributor in a team filled with standout contributors) then they will have the opportunity to emulate their 2008-2012 heroes with relative ease.
No one will remember how badly England stank out the final, scoring and almost immediately retreating to "the safety of penalties" for the sake of victory without really "reading the room"...but they will remember Rodri, our blisteringly fast & purposeful wingers, Cucurella, Olmo, Fabian, Laporte, even Zubimendi & Nacho & especially Carvajal in the final alone!!! Spain deservedly won, ans so did football!!!
¡¡¡VAMOS ESPAÑA!!! 🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦
I think if you want better international tournaments, then there needs to much less club games and also the domestic and continental club competitions need to end about 5 or 6 weeks before the start of an international tournament so that players get a break before being called up to an international squad.
Portugal: Ronaldo should've been dropped. Sticking with him killed their chances.
Germany: ran into Spain too early.
Italy: have been in a downward spiral. Demographic decline, perhaps.
France: stale, outdated tactics
England: coached by a tactically inept individual.
Its club before country in the epl, always has been, weve always had a dissapointing national team in any decade.
Maybe next time predictions and analysts will respect the most time Euro's winners, Spain. And not fall again for fraudulent teams like England or Portugal.🤣
Fakegland and Fraudugal
Maybe these players just aren't that good.
When Kate Abdo’s team will be back?
Well Spain 🇪🇸 didn’t underperform. We won the Euro 24,and,are European Champions for the next 4 years. While the U.S.A. bowed out of the Copa Americano Spain 🇪🇸 stayed all the way in Euro 24.
I couldn’t agree more nobody other than Spain was in top form which made for boring soccer..
That is why England got the Final
Well, yeah, its a single elimination knockout bracket with teammates who rarely play together and teams they rarely play against.
In a single elimination knockout, a single shithouse win and a lucky draw can put you through to rhe semis. In league play, you need to, on average win about 25 games, and not get done a double by the other title contenders.
Who would expect it to be the same as league play?
Americans talking about underwhelming football 💀
Were is Poppy? BBC sports If you want diversity, hire her I can cope with that.
The reason why some people think the teams are under perform is because defenders are very underrated
🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸
The most boring competition in a while
Only when you're not a Spanish fan
You obviously didn't watch this last Copa America lol.
