No in IPL every team has a 'purse limit', so the richest team cannot get the best players..
LOL I love this. The bat, is called a bat. The batter is called a batsman, almost like batman, but not. The pitcher is a bowler, cause he bowls the ball to the batsman. Just a few tips.
India vs pakistan 🔥🔥 matches are most heated.
We will have to watch! Thank you so much for the tip. ✨
And England v Australia in the Ashes series
The 2 batsmen run to the other end of the pitch to get a run . Then the batsmen who was now on the other end (non playing end) play after exchanging positions w the active batsmen . Both of the batsmen have to reach the other end before they get out ( the ball hits the wicket) . They can squeeze as many runs as they like depending upon how far the ball went . For eg . If the ball is not very far and if they run they can get out they won’t run if the ball is a little further they can run once across the pitch and get a run and if the ball gets a little more further they may get 2 runs by running to the other end and coming back to their original position. If they hit the ball and it hits the boundaries they get 4 runs and don’t have to run and if the ball goes beyond the boundary without touching the ground they get 6 runs again they don’t have to run
Thank you so much for the explanation. It sounds so complex (but then again, all sports seem this way to us). You have helped clarify it for us. We appreciate you. Have a beautiful day.
actually you can only run a max of 4 runs
@@lu-cardowashinggreen1278 Not correct. Think of when the ball is hit over the boundary on the full = 6 runs (automatic), the ball is hit into an obstruction left on the field by the fielding side = 5 runs (penalty) + runs scored by running, the ball is overthrown by the fielder so the batsmen just keep on running, the ball is lost in the field of play the batsmen can just keep running, the ball is hit into the deep outfield off a no ball (1 penalty run) and the batsmen run 4 (total of 5), or the batsmen are just for whatever other reason are able to run more than 4.
@@DeepThought9999 Yeah but without those the max you can run is 4
@@lu-cardowashinggreen1278 No, there is no limit to the number of runs that can actually be run. As I said, if the fielding side stuff up badly enough and/or the field is large enough, more than 4 runs can be scored by running between the popping creases.
cricket is the most popular sport after football in the world
the other batsman has to stand next to pitcher so that he can run
Next to the bowler*, why the fcuk everyone comparing cricket to baseball..

It's not like the richest person will get the best players bcz Ambani owner of Mumbai Indian team in IPL is one of the richest person on Earth from a long time, but every team has a fixed pocket/budget from which they have to buy a sqaud of 20-25 players.
Bro richest person on earth is Jeff Bezos. Ambani is richest in india. And maybe Asia, am not sure..
@@mrgyani one of the richest likha hai bhai not the richest. 👍
@@mrgyani he said one of the richest, not the richest.
The ball is smaller, but heavier and harder than a baseball. It's made out of wood (cork) that is wrapped in leather. The cricket bat is made of wood mainly.
Ball is made of leather and harder than baseball.
Try to watch ipl matches which starts from sep 19
Greetings from Sussex England - culturally most English villages / town will have cricket club for playing and socializing - drinking beer at the weekends. Each County sortta like your states have a team - the National Team is the best players from each County..... hope that helps. PS Tea / Cake and sandwiches are a key element in the sport at village level.... one wears White clothes to play and only the wicket keeper wears gloves....
Thanks a lot for watching this guys. Loved the reaction
Thank you!! We love you!! ❤️
Long live Test cricket, IPL is for the people who don't understand Cricket like you guys, it's good for roping in new audience to cricket, and bring in money. But once you get cricket completely nothing comes close to test cricket.
Completly agree 👍👍
T20 is ideal for getting new people to the grounds but, ODI and more importantly test cricket are for me the most interesting The strategies required are more like a game of chess rather than hit and hope
Nobody plays test cricket, the only reason Ireland wanted test status is they did not want the England taking there players
Next try, spirit of cricket by steve waugh, You will get to see how deeply cricket is rooted in India.
The cricket ball is made out of a leather outer with a cork centre. Test matches (5 day games) where the players are dressed in white use a red cricket ball. In recent years there has been the introduction of a pink ball especially in day/night test matches. The T20 format and the One Day Internationals which is 50 overs per team use a white cricket ball. If you want to learn the rules and the way cricket is played it is best to watch the game ball by ball preferably with someone who knows the game to explain when you may not understand. Once you know the basics the game is easy to follow.
Cricket ball is made out of leather and filled with cork, the bat is made out of Willow wood. The other batsman stands at the other side of the pitch (next to the bowler as you said) because when the batsman on strike hits the ball the two need to cross positions to score a run.
ain't it kookabara
The cricket ball is similarly sized to a baseball but is heavier and much harder. A cricket ball has a cork core surrounded by very tightly wound string all covered by stiff polished leather stitched together by 6 parallel rows of stitches around the circumference. The stitches and the polish are significant, particularly in Test cricket, as the nature of the flight of the ball changes as it is worn by abrasion with the pitch, impacted by the bat and polished on the fielders’ clothes. When the ball is new, skilled fast bowlers can make the ball do all sorts of things to deceive the batsman both in the air and off the pitch, while as the ball wears, it becomes more suitable for spin bowlers to apply their considerable but different skills of deception.
@@DeepThought9999 I know
@@lu-cardowashinggreen1278 I’m sure that you do. My comment was meant to be a clarification of Dwayne Higgins comment above regarding the structure of the ball, for the benefit of any other readers of Dwayne’s comment. Oops! Only just now noticed that Dwayne’s comment was a year ago, so I’ll just shut up now.
@@DeepThought9999 No harm no foul
I think the best way to approach a Test match being up to 5 days long is to think of it like a baseball series that includes a double header, it just happens to be the same game. And Test matches aren’t played as frequently as baseball games
did you realise the cricket and rugby union was played in america wayyyyyyyyy before baseball n gridiron....the reasons they were given up on is that at the time, the powers that be deemed cricket too hard to understand like chess, so they began searching for something simpler, and the reason rugby was given the flick is that it was seen as too rough so they eventually came up with an easier softer game with helmets and padding
As of 31 Dec 2023, there are 108 countries that play cricket; 12 full member(Commonwealth) countries and 96 associate member countries, including the United States.
You are going in the right direction guys that was really great thanks.
5 days match it's called a test match. Why it is called a test match?? Because it's a test of will!!!
More correctly, a test of stamina, will, strategies, tactics and mental endurance above all.
In Australia, as cricket is a summer sport; officials were looking at ways to keep players fit during the off-season. A winter sport was developed, called Australian Rules Football; this like cricket, is a unique sport. So, I'd like to introduce you to Australia's own game; unlike anything you have ever seen. The Australian Football League has put out two great videos, explaining the game; the first is "What Is AFL: Aussie Rules Explained", and the second is "A Beginners Guide to Australian Rules Football".
17:15 no there is no richest person
The money which you could buy is limited for all and by using that limited money only you could buy the players
Please react to 'five magical wickets by Shane Warne" . Shane Warne was an Australian spin bowler you will be amazed by his skills.
It's the non striker .if the batter score one run the non striker comes to bat
After the batsman facing the bowler(pitcher) hits the ball, if the batsmen exchange positions they score one run; now the other batsman is facing the bowler, and attempts to hit the ball to score runs. After a bowler has finished their over, they return to a fielding position; and a new bowler will bowls from the other end of the pitch, with the fielders now fielding the opposite end from the previous over.
I ❤️ cricket. It's like a religion in India. 😀. Actually, the cricket ball is made up of cork binded by white leather stitched perfectly.
A traditional cricket ball is cork tightly bound with twine and then encased in stitched RED leather from the mid-18th century.
The one thing I wish it would point out at 7:25 is that when a bowler finishes an 'over' a teammate bowls the next one from the OTHER end of the pitch; this means that the wicket-keeper has to go to the other end and the rest of the fielders have to move to different positions accordingly.
When it refers to games lasting five days it is referring to Test matches which are games played between teams representing their countries i.e. international games. Below Test cricket there is another level of professional cricket in the major cricket playing nations which is generally referred to as 'domestic first-class cricket; these games last three or four days depending on the plating rules in any given country. In the UK, for instance the England test AND limited overs teams select their players from this domestic structure which is based around 18 First-class counties that play in the County championship, (there are also 19 'Minor' counties that are a mix of amateur and semi-professional players)
Below this there are around 3,000 amateur clubs playing at descending levels of competitive league and recreational cricket.
See for the other end, yes it's correct but is not required for this video for explanation purposes, it will complicate the matters unnecessarily for someone seeing it first time.
@@timepass4783 I can't agree with that. it is one of the most fundamental aspects of cricket; not just a minor thing, that at the conclusion of an over you change ends and then carry on. I don't see how you can put that on the back burner and let's face it, it isn't rocket science!
@@rocketrabble6737 it isn't required, it will just make people ask more questions maybe. Even if it is a fundamental and basic part, not telling this will not stop from developing the understanding of the Game, which is the point, just want to learn how cricket works, points like this re not required for a explanation video made for people who don't know anything about the game, and ate learning for the first time. It will not hinder the understanding.
@@rocketrabble6737 it is rocket science for people who haven't ever seen the game, cricket is complex than most other sports
@@timepass4783 If that is "rocket science" for some people then they are never going to get their heads around the game. For the others the response is likely to be "OK they change ends". If you don't tell them the first time they see it happening it is more likely to be "WTF is going on? This was never mentioned! Is it a different format?" etc.
The non striking and striking batman has to have their bat behind the crease - a white line just infront of the wicket if they are out of their crease they out if a fielder hits the wicket with the ball. Also the bowlers foot has to be on or behind the crease when bowling...... enjoy!
One Day cricket started as a 'rebel' league by Australian TV mogul Kerry Packer, as a more appealing game for spectators; originally condemned by the cricket world, it was eventually adopted by all cricketing countries. The advent of Twenty/Twenty(T20) cricket was devised as spectators now wanted more cricket, more often; although started in the UK, it is now dominated by the Indian Premier League(IPL) which is televised worldwide.
Its a hard leather ball with even harder Core..
For the best of test cricket try to find an explanation of 'The Ashes'.
Cricket was never ‘forced on the colonies’ the British at the time played it in the colonies for enjoyment and began teaching locals in the hope of starting ‘bush leagues’ India picked up the game so quickly that it became a national passion in only a decade. The sport is the most brilliant contest of skill, determination and endurance. There’s nothing else like it. Even building the skill needed to bowl a single legal delivery takes years. It’s a very foreign movement to whip your arm up over your head while keeping the elbow joint locked and still manage to put the ball where you mean to. You guys should try doing it with just a light ball. And you’ll see just why every country that was introduced to the sport (Apart from Americans your guys are weird) fell in love with the game
I would recommend you react to Cricket Explained for Baseball Fans, this does a comparison between the two games. FYI: The first ever International Cricket Match was between the US and Canada, played at the St.George's Cricket Ground in New York from 24th to 26th September 1844.

Why would Britain force cricket on the colonies? They did not and the colonies chose to play it from their own free will.
Why would India, a country of 1.4 billion people, play the game so enthusiastically?
Bat is made of wood. Cricket Balls are made same way as baseballs. I don't know which one is heavier. Technicalities of using ball is different.
Cricket balls are harder and heavier. It's literally made from wood(cork) which is wrapped really tightly in leather.
The cricket ball is smaller and heavier than a baseball.
Yes, you are correct - the T20 version is more exciting for spectators in many respects, because they go really hard - the batting team only have 120 opportunities (20 overs, consisting of 6 balls i.e. 'pitches') to score before they have to field. So, they try and smash as many boundaries out as they can (boundaries score 4 runs or 6 if the ball doesn't touch the ground) and take more risks in order to score.
Contrast to test cricket, where the batting side has an unlimited number of opportunities to score (no limits on the amount of overs - the batting side have to field when all batsmen are out). This means that the batting side play much more defensively and take fewer risks, because time is on their side.
With that said, test matches are exciting in their own way, because they are a more strategic marathon, rather than a sprint.
Watch the Jomboy video where he explains cricket. It's very well done as he uses baseball terminology to help Americans understand cricket. If you enjoy baseball I think you'd enjoy cricket, and you can transfer some knowledge between both sports.
No one forced it on the colonies; it wasn't a punishment! Until 1857 the areas under British control were administered by the East India Company and the sailors, civilians and army personnel of the Company began playing cricket from around 1737 (Baroda is mentioned as the earliest venue). Pretty quickly the Indian elites adopted the game particularly the Parsees of Bombay: an educated and westernised community, and gradually the game spread to other communities like Muslims and Hindus as well.
The major historical event which propelled baseball above cricket as the popular game of the ordinary man in the States was almost certainly the American Civil War. Baseball rapidly became the impromptu game in the soldiers leisure as it it required less equipment, considerably less preparation of a suitable playing surface (they could be required to move to different locations at short notice) and games could be adjusted easily to fit available time slots.
HA! "It wasn't a punishment until 1857"!
Only a small percentage of cricket matches are played over 5 days; they are International matches between those countries that have been granted full Test Match status. They are still considered the pinnacle of the game but there are professional levels of cricket below that in the major countries. 99+% of players never get to play for international Test, ODI, or T20 teams.
Thank you for watching that. I Hope You Guys learn more.

23:22 Funny you mentioned American style to the sport. This video is Indian bias but actually it was an American, Adam Stanford, showed the world how to make money from cricket with the Caribbean t20 competition. But he won't get the credit because he convicted on embezzlement as part of a ponzi scheme.

Wrong title. Cricket explained to Aliens called Americans. They live in another world. Doh
No the bid doesn't work like that. Richest person cannot get the best players. Also, I don't think modern day Indians watch a match against English with the colonial history in mind. India and Pakistan game, yes. It can go really bad. Infact India has love and hate relationship with Australia than England when it comes to cricket because Australia is the strongest team and very intimidating in the field.
Richest person does gets most if the best players. But those teams still get a good fight from the 'poorer teams

Most people in the UK prefer Football & Rugby so India can have cricket. It has no wide appeal and I would never pay to go to a cricket match. I may watch the highlights on TV but it’s of no real interest anymore. It can be put with snooker and crown green bowling for me.
And your opinion is universal?
Forced on their colonies? Really... then explain to me why... if this was so forced upon the oppressed people it is still as, if not more, popular in the colonies as it ever was? I stopped watching your reaction right there...and even if it doesn't show gave you a thumbs down.
