Funny video. You asked what's so special about New Lots Avenue. Many years ago it was the hub of the commercial district in that area. New Lots was a city from the 1650s to the consolidation of 1898 and was comprised of New Lots, East New York, and Ridgewood. Re L line ~ I remember a few years ago when there had been some talk about taking it down just like certain geniuses did with the old Fulton and Culver lines. Thankfully, the powers that be did not follow up with their plan. In fact, there had also been some talk of taking down the New Lots line and putting in some bus lines there. That would have been disastrous as it is used quite heavily by commuters. Thanks for your video. It is good to see that the area still has a great deal of vitality.
Parker Brave because in the past the MTA was never a thing it was 3 different train lines. Irt BMt and one more thing. The irt trains only have 3 doors and the train is smaller on like the others so that’s why they can’t meet together
The guy in the first car is not the Conductor he/she is the Operator, the Conductor is at the middle of the train controlling the doors. And those weren’t just L Trains when you were looking at the yard in the beginning, those were R143’s/R160’s in 8 Car Variations That Run On The C, J, M, Z and L (Respectively). Also the L Train has CBTC (Communications Based Train Control) and ATO (Automated Train Operation) which allows them to run closer and faster. That’s why you saw so many.
You only take the trains one stop! Until you get to The E train :( From Bowling Green, Manhattan 4 from Bowling Green to Wall St 5 from Wall St to Fulton St A from Fulton St to Chambers St C from Chambers St to Canal St E from Canal St to W 4 St (it had to be the E) F from W 4 St to 14th- 6th Ave L from 14th St- 6th Ave to 14th St- 8th Ave
The L and 7 trains have Communications Based Train Control which allows the MTA to run more trains and all the other train lines have fixed block signals (which doesn't allow as many trains per hour) which is why there were so many trains on the L. Also the L gets really busy even when it isn't during rush hour.
Oddly I feel the 3 and 2 trains are so fast. It’s like no more than 3-5 minutes appart on a good day. Very fast. Can’t imagine with CBTC how much faster too. But I like r62 trains better inside.
Hey supertoe could you take the E all the way to world trade center for a world trade center look but if you are in the bronx take the 1 train to world trade center
WTN suggestion : go to 161 street then go to the 4 - to woodlawn Metro north - 125 street harlem 6 - fulton street J - Broad street if you like comment suprtoe that means your gonna do it right? :D
Last time I actually got on the LL at Rockaway Parkway the trains had wicker baslet seats and sooty black unpainted cars and no air conditioning and the fans didn;t work. LOL And tohse old trains made a funny noise when they were in motion.
I used to be by utica avenue for the A and C, but now im by Sutter Avenue for the 3 and take it to hoyt or take it to crown heights get the 4 and take that to borough hall to get to school lmfao
Do a video going to yankee stadium from grand Central station plz because I’m going to New York in the playoffs and I need help to get where in need to. Thank you
Hey Gogo Supertoe, take the A, J or L train from Broadway Junction to Junction Blvd on the 7 train then walk around the streets, that’s Corona my old neighborhood in Queens
Wait Do you know when you transfer from the L to the 3? You use a bridge and it is over train tracks right? And when you cross over and look right, there is an abandoned train that is a loccomotive that is rusty and has grass over it. How old is it?
Can you do D train from Norwood-205 Street to 145 St and then transfer to (A)train to 59 St and then transfer to (C)train to 42 St P.A.B.T then (Q)train to 96 St-2 Avenue and then take M15 select bus service.BTW I love your vids
