Both MUST HEAR Classics,, Jimi Hendrix "Crosstown Traffic" & "The Wind Cries Mary" 🔥
_Castles Made Of Sand_ & _Little Wing_
Mitch freakin’ Mitchell!
Jimi "Rock Me Baby"🎸
Live or studio Jimi's performances are in another universe. Bob's version is the universe.
When the words of witty and wise Bob Dylan meet the psychedelic soul of Jimi Hendrix it's total magic.
It isn't "psychedelic"; it is BLUES.
A master class in rhythm guitar playing. I like how he teased Noel (Bob Dylan's grandmother)
jimis intro to america.....i was always fascinated by how much jimi and bob dylan respected each other....this is a prime example....enjoyed it , being i havent heard it in a while....
Just wish he'd managed all the verses ~ God I LOVE this performance!
such a great version! dbl ♥ Not many reactors do this. Thanks!
Yes, I love it. Keep going with the Jimmy that concert is amazing.
Baddest electric cat of them all..
"Gypsy Eyes" and "House Burning Down" are fantastic songs of his.
An epic performance.
I love how he slips in "Yes I know I missed a verse, don't worry" in the middle of the third verse, which is really the fourth. Great cover again. When Jimi covered a song, he made it his own. The sign of a truly great artist.
Biz, check out "Bold As Love" from the Axis:Bold As Love album (his second LP).
Jimi!
My favorite Hendrix live version the banter in the intro the messing up the words then saying my bad laughing it shows his humility on top of a beautiful song lyrical and melodically
You don't have many all-time great songs AND an all-time great cover. Jimi pulls it off.
He was a showman, yes indeed, speed-rapping away. Monterey was his intro to American audiences. After that he was a hippie hero. This concert is one of my favorite Jimi performances. The Who had gone on before and Pete Townshend smashed up his guitar. Jimi was like "Hold my beer.."
It’s funny. I like the way Jimi talked to the crowd also as opposed to Dylan who sometimes doesn’t even acknowledge the crowd. Two different personalities.
I have never heard of a Jimi Hendrix song that did not move me, even Bob Dylan's Folk Music. Good song here. Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" done by Jimi is far freaking out. You will dig it.
Love to see younger people appreciating older music. Great reaction.
Man Jimi made this his own! Wat a talent fr
That next song ROCK ME BABY is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
How does it feel? Marvelous hearing this after all these years. Bless you Jimi. It's tragic he left us way too soon.💔
He also does a great cover of Positively 4th Street
Jimi made a major hit out of another Dylan song, All Along The Watchtower. I don't recall if you sampled it. Btw, the Monterey festival was Jimi's coming out party in the US. He was better known in England, but America discovered him at Monterey.
Nobody can do it like Jimmy, he's always the best to me mind
Much cooler version of this song
Fuck really outta sight. Im old mind blown. Blast from the past. Excellent video sir.
A master class in R&B rhythm guitar. Thanks Biz!!
Jeeze loiuse this takes me back.
I like the way Jimi did this song and also All Along the Watchtower
He never ran out of licks on his guitar. Something new every turn around.
Always loved this version - you should check out Hey Baby too - another great Hendrix that I think is only recorded live.
ooh I 2nd this!
The studio version is on UA-cam too. I'm going to post it separately here.
ahead of the curve
Try to find the the whole "Monterey Pop" movie.
You might not believe this, but I feel that Jimi never was any happier than when he performed at Monterey. The audience didn’t know who he was so there weren’t any high expectations or pressure on him. The audience wasn’t screaming for him to play “Hey Joe,” he just went out and had fun. Now, looking back in retrospect, it was all downhill from here. Manager issues; never getting enough rest; people demanding the wild performances, night after night, etc.
👍👍Old school goooodnessss! 🖖❤
I like the song Crosstown traffic and thinking on that if Bob would have covered it. It would be pretty dang good too.
There’s a live video of this
I love this so much❤ this is my childhood
Sweet! Now that's how you cover a song in live performance, find the groove and forget the skipped lines and freaked notes here or there. Bob Dylan dropped "Like a Rolling Stone" in 1965. It got a lot of radio play, so much so that I remember hearing it as a little kid, circa 1970. "Like a Rolling Stone" kicked off side one of the Historic Performances Recorded at the Monterey International Pop Festival album I got a copy of as a teenager in the eighties. Jimi Hendrix filled side one, Otis Redding filled side two. Monterey Pop was Hendrix's first performance in the US after he decamped for London to form the Experience. Dropping "Like a Rolling Stone" as the first song when he was still virtually unknown was the first of many statements he made that night. The tone of his voice rivals that of his guitar, which would soon meet its farewell, which you can see in the clip of "Wild Thing".
Excellent tune, I have that album.
Should be able to find the video of this performance right here on youtube.
This song is about Eddie sedgwick about 6 songs written about her Bob D...was involved with her
Jimi was almost a partner to Bob 🎸🎸💥💥
Most reactors I see doing Hendrix, well, actually get a strike by the Hendrix estate, so I haven't seen as much as one might the Bee Gees or Michael Jackson. So it's nice to see you so into the groove of this one, which is a cover of Bob Dylan's classic. It's like you're on stage at Monterey. This was sort of his big intro to the American public (his two bandmates were Brits and they had a much stronger and immediate positive reaction in England at the start of his career). I think it was in that early period when artists like Jagger, Clapton, Townsend and McCartney recognized how great he was and how big he could be.
Such a personal story for Jimi, I'm sure. Conned by record folks, pawned his guitar (then bought it back) and on his own. When you aint got nothing you got nothing to lose.
I have heard this i have it on CD. Glad you reacted to this. I think you are the first person i have seen react to this by Jimi Hendrix. Jimi Hendrix Little Wing at the Cafe Au Go Go live in N.Y. Jimi plays the Blues. And Everything is Gonna Be Alright. Great blues jam on both of these songs.
Go hear the live NOW!!!!!!!
I'm not going to say before his time, that phrase is silly. He was of his time, and he was a trendsetter. He took the electric guitar to new levels never known before. The greats do that. Jimmy Page did it. Stevie Ray Vaughn did it. Eddie Van Halen did it. The greats cut their own path, not ahead of their time but at the time needed. Their time. Keep going with Jimi. No fails with him.
Dude!!Theres a video!!!
Monterey was in June 1967, and Clapton, the who and many others were there. At that time the only one who could upstage the who would be Jimi, so they made sure they played before him.
Always enjoyed Jimi's cover of this Dylan classic. His version from Winterland 1968 show is a little longer, slower tempo, really stripped back instrumentation and better sound quality.
Thank you!
Superb!
Loving this hendrix journey ❤ have you done Pali gap?
A great version. Almost as good as Bob Dylan’s. Mitch Mitchell bangin’ on the drums.
Much better.
If my memory serves me..... This was Jimi's first concert back in the USA after becoming famous in the UK. And The Who and Hendrix tossed a coin as to who would play after the other. Jimi won the toss and playeed after The Who.
I think the story was that neither wanted to follow the other, and Jimi lost and so had to follow the Who.
@@andymccracken4046 Probably. That's so long ago I've forgotten a lot of stuff. The '60s and '70s were a good time! ✌️
@@BritIronRebel Yes, we were lucky with that.
Look her up she was amazingly beautiful she died from drugs...but she was just over 27...so she didn't make the 27 club...
PLZ react to PETER GREEN IVE GOT A MIND TO GIVE UP LIVING. One of the best blues rock solos EVER
Dylan Hendrix goats
Dylan song Hendricks what wouldn't it be better than really good
This was a fantastic Bob Dylan cover by Jimi, but you’ve got to check out his original songs. I’d start with this one, called, “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)”: ua-cam.com/video/56w8Ut4axsM/v-deo.htmlsi=VsXjUJMnzL7yutxU
1967.
I think this song is F......! ..up.. he's really rippling her apart she doesn't deserve it..she was young and got mixed up with bad people...he left her out in the cold
Here's 'Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)' from the 'Rainbow Bridge' "soundtrack album".
